Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his government incite their citizens to hate Israelis and incentivize them to murder civilians using a "pay-to-slay" lethal form of welfare that makes killing and maiming far more profitable than working at a regular job.
On the morning of June 30, a 17-year-old Palestinian Arab terrorist, Muhammad Taraireh, stabbed to death a 13-year-old Israeli child, Hallel Ariel, as she slept in her bed.

It was an attack of unimaginable barbarity and viciousness. Hallel was stabbed dozens of times. Her assailant turned over her lifeless body to stab her in her back for good measure. The terrorist was killed after he stabbed another Israeli who rushed to the child's bedside.

Why Is Israel Paying US Jewish Groups to Shy From Fighting BDS?

Imagine if the US government were to earmark millions of dollars for fostering democracy in the developing world, but neglected to require...

The killer's mother, knowing that she will receive a premium reward for her sacrifice, bragged to the press that her son was a "hero," a "martyr" who made her "proud" and urged others to kill Jews in the name of Allah. The Palestinian Authority (PA) declared Taraireh a "shahid," or martyr, the highest honor achievable in Islam. This murder came days after a senior adviser to Abbas said in an interview, "Every place you find an Israeli, cut off his head."

Hallel, a vivacious teen who just graduated from the 8th grade, wanted to grow up to be a zoologist. Her 17-year-old killer had a very different goal. On his Facebook page he expressed his desire to be a martyr because, as he had been taught, dying for Islam was a privilege.

Now, according to PA law, his family will receive a one-time payment of about $1560 and a monthly stipend of about $364 from the Palestinian government's "martyr fund." Had Taraireh been married, his wife would receive an additional monthly stipend of $104 plus $52 per child. Had he been a member of the PA military force, they would receive additional funds depending on rank.

The minimum amount paid to imprisoned terrorists is equivalent to the average wage of a jobholder in the territories and 40% higher than the average wage for Gazans. The more gruesome the attack and the longer the prison sentence, the higher the financial reward. The maximum stipends paid are considered an unimaginable fortune within Palestinian society.

You have to hand it to Abbas -- this is definitely the way to instigate terror!

In the last 9 months, Palestinians committed 155 stabbings, 96 shootings, 45 vehicular attacks and one bus bombing, resulting in 40 people were killed and 511 people injured. The killing and maiming continue, as do the bounty payments.

The Palestinian "pay-to-slay" program provides approximately $300 million per year to terrorists and their families for killing Jews. In the PA's 2016 budget, $137.8 million is earmarked for prisoners and their families, and $172.5 million for the families of "martyrs" -- 5-10% of the government's total budget.

The PA receives around $1 billion in foreign aid every year. By underwriting the PA, international donors, including the US, are helping to fund blood money to terrorists like Muhammad Taraireh.

Thanks to public exposure of the "pay-to-slay" program, Congress passed legislation in 2014 requiring the US to deduct from its development assistance to the PA an amount equal to the PA payment of blood money for terrorism. Then Abbas circumvented this law by transferring the responsibility for subsidizing terrorism from the PA to the PLO to create the appearance that the PA wasn't involved. The US State Department willingly bought into this fiction. Western dollars for terrorism continue to flow.

Indiana Republican Senator Dan Coates has introduced new legislation to counter this Palestinian ruse and cut US aid to the Palestinians "by an amount... equivalent to the amount expended by the Palestinian Authority, the Palestine Liberation Organization and any successor or affiliated organizations, as payments for acts of terrorism." If this legislation is passed, it will be up to the State Department to implement it.

Despite their incitement to hate and incentive to kill programs, Palestinians remain the perennial "victims du jour" in the minds of the misguided West and the corrupt UN. Hallel Ariel and other Israelis, the real victims, are blamed for the terrorism visited upon them.

Only in this world of moral inversion, where truth is trashed, lies are lauded and the depraved are empowered, would the Palestinian Authority have the audacity to say about Western funding of their "pay-to-slay" policy, "The world owes the Palestinians money for enabling Israel's establishment."

5 Reasons The U.S. Army Will Lose Its Next War In Europe
The fight would be over control of large expanses of land with few geographical impediments to rapid advance. The U.S. Army would likely do most of the ground combat for NATO, because America contributes over two-thirds of the alliance’s resources. Losing such a war would drastically reshape the geopolitical balance in Europe, and reduce U.S. influence there to its lowest ebb since before World War Two. And yet losing is what the U.S. Army is currently postured to do.

Austria's fate is now at stake.

Perhaps it was a coincidence that Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, Archbishop of Vienna and tipped to be the next Pope, chose September 12, the anniversary of the Siege of Vienna, when Turkey's Ottoman troops nearly conquered Europe, to deliver a most dramatic appeal to save Europe's Christian roots.

"Many Muslims want and say that 'Europe is finished'," Cardinal Schönborn said, before accusing Europe of "forgetting its Christian identity." He then denounced the possibility of "an Islamic conquest of Europe."

Konrad Pesendorfer, head of the Austrian Office of Statistics, said that by 2030, 40% of the population of Vienna will be foreign-born, thanks to internal demography and migration flows (60,000 arrivals in just one year).

Since the fall of Constantinople in 1453, much of Eastern Europe's Christian population spent centuries under Islamic occupation, particularly under the Ottomans. It now seems that the clock has reverted to 1683, when Ottoman armies were at the gates of Vienna.

It is not a coincidence that the fierce resistance of Eastern Europeans has been the main impediment to a unified response by the European Union to the migrant crisis. It was these Eastern states that forced German Chancellor Angela Merkel to halt the massive flux of migrants. Today, where there is no border, migrants keep coming en masse. In August alone, 23,000 migrants arrived in Italy.

Brussels is whipping up a propaganda war to cast the Western Europeans, who favor unvetted Muslim migration, as cosmopolitan and tolerant, and Eastern Europeans as a bunch of xenophobic bigots, if not outright neo-Nazis.

Europe's educated elite might do well to listen to their Eastern brethren. These countries, ironically, are the core of the "new Europe," the last to join the European project and the very countries, having escaped from authoritarian regimes, which should have revived it. Brussels' policy is now pushing this Eastern bloc back under Russia's sphere of influence.

The Eastern Europeans' reluctance to open the doors to massive Muslim migration can be explained by the economic crisis, falling birth rates, their relatively homogenous societies, the persecution of the Christians under Communism, memories of a conflict with Islam dating back to the Middle Ages, and the attempt by Brussels to impose a cultural agenda.

The European Parliament, in fact, has constantly passed resolutions pressuring conservative East European member-states such as Poland, Hungary and Croatia, to legalize same-sex marriage and abortion on demand.

The President of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, calls him "Viktator" Orbán. But Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, defiant, is going ahead with the construction of a wall on Hungary's border with Serbia.

When Communism fell, Hungary was the first country to open the Iron Curtain and let people out. Now it is first country to erect a fence to keep people out. Orbán is also planning an additional fence along that border.

Orbán is the Eastern nemesis of the European elite. No one else in Europe except him speaks about defending "Christianity." The "Visegrad-4," the alliance between Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria and Slovakia, want to distinguish between Christian and Muslim immigrants. Orbán has the support of Hungarian bishops who oppose Pope Francis' open-armed policy toward migrants.

In an opinion piece for the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper, Orbán wrote:

"Those arriving have been raised in another religion, and represent a radically different culture. Most of them are not Christians, but Muslims. This is an important question, because Europe and European identity is rooted in Christianity."

Orbán's rebelliousness goes back to his student days in 1989, when he was at the funeral of Imre Nagy, who led the anti-Soviet insurrection of 1956 -- Orbán had the courage to demand the withdrawal of the communist invaders.

Orbán later led Hungary into NATO.

Son of a communist and a Calvinist mother, Orbán has a devout Catholic wife and five children. To those who question whether he is a reactionary, Orbán replies: "I eat with a fork and a knife, but we are not nice guys from the mainstream." For him, the European Commission is a kind of new politburo. "We did not tolerate being dictated to from Vienna in 1848 nor from Moscow in 1956 and 1990," Orbán said. "Now we're not going to allow ourselves to be dictated to by anyone from Brussels or anywhere else."

Orbán's speeches are full of historical references, as when he asked Hungarians to behave with the same courage shown by their ancestors "in the war against the Ottoman armies."

The Hungarian constitution is unique in Europe; it protects "life from conception" and says that marriages can take place only between a man and a woman.

Orbán's approach has been adopted by other ex-communist members of the EU. Poland's President Andrzej Duda complained about "dictates" from Brussels to accept migrants flowing into the Continent from the Middle East and Africa.

Meanwhile Poland's Law and Justice Party leader, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, appealed "to an old historical viewpoint, according to which Poland is a bulwark for Christianity in the East and must save Europe from itself."

"Since its adoption of Christianity in 966, Poland has often played the role of Antemurale Christianitatis, a bastion of Christendom," according to Crisis Magazine.

"From halting the European advance of Mongols at the Battle of Legnica in 1241, to saving Europe from Muslim colonization when King John III Sobieski defeated the Turks at Vienna in 1683, this has been reinforced. Communism failed to extinguish Polish Catholicism, when John Paul II was elected pope in 1978 and inspired the rise of the Solidarity movement, which playing a crucial role in ending communism. More recently, Polish immigrants have filled hitherto empty pews in Western Europe. During the current Vatican synod on the family, Polish bishops have been among the most vocal defenders of tradition."

The prime minister of another Eastern European country, Robert Fico of Slovakia, said his country will accept only Christian refugees; that Islam "has no place" in his country and that "multiculturalism is a fiction."

Czech President Milos Zeman also attacked multiculturalism. Even Socratis Hasikos, Cyprus' interior minister, said that his country would accept refugees but wanted them to be Christians. For many Cypriots, the line that divides the island is a frontier between Greek Christianity and Turkish Islam, just as the Berlin Wall was a frontier between democracy and communism.

As the prestigious American Catholic magazine First Things noted, "in Hungary, Croatia, and elsewhere in Eastern Europe, a pro-family, pro-life revolution and a rediscovery of Christian roots is occurring."

Like it or not, the last chance to save Europe's roots might well come from the former communist members of the EU -- those who defeated the Ottomans in 1699 and now feel culturally threatened by their heirs.

Cypriots know much better than the comfortable bureaucrats of Brussels the consequences of a cultural collision. Ask about their churches on the Turkish side of the island; how many of them are still standing?

Church Apostasy Grows Worldwide

With virtually every passing day, it's becoming clearer and clearer that the Christian church worldwide is faced with a serious moral decline and seems to be losing the battle to retain its purity and integrity.

One of the persistent areas of concern is the acceptance and celebration of homosexuality in the church.

A recent wnd.com report by Bob Unruh noted that Biola University, once considered one of the most conservative evangelical Christian universities in the nation, has announced the creation of a "purposeful, community-focused program" for students with same-sex attractions.

The Web page for the new program, called Sustinere, explains that students with same-sex attractions typically don't feel free to talk about their experiences and feel unsupported in their community.

The program "will seek to provide a caring and supportive community where students can journey together to live authentically and lovingly with same-sex sexual attractions, orientations, and identities."

Yet a spokesman told WND the program does not in any way conflict with the doctrinal statement that, in italics and bold-face type on its website, affirms, "Biblical marriage consists only of a faithful, heterosexual union between one genetic male and one genetic female, and Biblical marriage is the only legitimate and acceptable context for a sexual relationship."

"We're not compromising at all our position, the Biblical position of marriage," he told WND, so while the "community" reaches out to those with same-sex attraction, the message will be abstinence and rejection of the lifestyle.

That position however still seems to contradict the stated objective of helping students "...journey together to live authentically and lovingly with same-sex sexual attractions, orientations, and identities."

The university's approach is certainly not an isolated one.

The Archbishop of Wales has argued that taking the Bible seriously can lead to supporting same-sex marriage as he defended his acceptance of LGBT relationships.

Dr. Barry Morgan, who will retire in January, used his last address to the governing body of the Church in Wales on Wednesday to deliver a parting shot to conservative critics who said he had been "swayed by the liberal culture of our age" and "ignored Holy Scripture".

He argued the Bible had more than one view on LGBT relationships as the authors' stances evolved. He said it was necessary to look at the texts as a whole, and especially at the ministry of Jesus, to understand God's will.

"Taking the Bible as a whole and taking what it says very seriously may lead us into a very different view of same-sex relationships than the one traditionally upheld by the Church," he said.

The Archbishop concluded his address by quoting from Amazing Love, a book that urges Christians to embrace LGBT relationships. He said people flourish in committed relationships with one other person.

"Those of us who were or are married have found that to be the case," he said. "Why would we want to deny such a possibility for those who are attracted to their own gender?"

Ian Paul, a prominent conservative blogger and member of the Archbishops' Council, told Christian Today Morgan's comments were "really quite extraordinary".

He said: "Very many scholars of the Bible, including those who do not agree with the Church's traditional teaching on sexuality, would be astonished by his statement that 'the Bible has more than one view on homosexuality'. The few texts that are directly relevant are uniformly negative.

And even the Bible texts themselves don't even matter anymore in some quarters. A report in early September by Michael Koziol of the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Anglican Archbishop Philip Freier in a letter to Anglican Bishops:

"If the plebiscite does happen it will be important that Christians - and others - vote according to their Conscience and their view of what is best for society...should the vote be in favor of same-sex marriage, as suggested by the opinion polls, the Church must accept that this is now part of the landscape".

For those who prefer to stick to the Bible script, though, there's still some bad news: even the sanctity of the original Biblical texts themselves is under threat. Some Bible translators are now reportedly revising Bible translations in ways that alter the original meanings and interpretations of scripture.

Are these simply praiseworthy attempts to correct or improve the accuracy of the current versions, or do these efforts actually water down or misrepresent the original meanings and intent of the Scriptures?

According to a recent report by Brandon Showalter for the Christian Post, a debate is stirring over revisions made to the final translation of the English Standard Version Bible regarding gender, with one Biblical scholar saying the changes are "potentially dangerous."

The Crossway Board of Directors and the ESV Translation Oversight Committee said in a statement that the 52 words revised in 29 verses were "the culmination of more than 17 years of comprehensive work by the committee, as authorized and initiated by the Crossway Board in 1998... the 2016 edition is a "Permanent text of the ESV Bible [and will remain] unchanged throughout the life of the copyright."

"One of the controversial changes can be found in Genesis 3:16 which originally read, 'Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you'. The verse has now been edited to read, Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you."

Northern Seminary New Testament professor Scot McKnight believes the word changes in the newly revised ESV Bible have profoundly negative implications.

"This new translation of Genesis 3:16 suggests the curse against the woman is an act of God (a curse) that seals estrangement, alienation, and tension between females and males," McKnight said in an interview with The Christian Post.

"Some think they make women rebellious and men authoritarian in response. That is a sad and potentially dangerous interpretation for it gives the wrong kind of males a ready-made excuse for domination," he added.

Other symptoms of spiritual malaise and growing apostasy are being reflected in other ways around the world. In Sweden, for instance, leaders of the Church of Sweden which is the official government-endorsed religious body say that wearing a cross necklace is "un-Christian."

This development was recently reported by WND's Bob Unruh. The story also carried the Church of Sweden view that God has a pro-immigration and open-borders philosophy, and that homosexuals should be low-key so they don't "provoke" Muslims.

The stunning positions taken by the Swedish church group were uncovered by Nima Gholam Ali Pour, who warns in a report for the Gatestone Institute International Policy Council that the nation is very close to having a "new religion."

"In Swedish Christianity, Jesus has been reduced from being the son of God, to an activist fighting for multiculturalism and open borders. According to Archbishop Antje Jackelén of the Church of Sweden, Jesus has clear political positions on both migration and integration policies," Pour wrote.

"The leadership of the Church of Sweden no longer wants to lead a Christian community; they want to lead a general ethical association for humanistic values," Ann Heberlein, doctor of theology and lecturer at Lund University, said in the report.

"If Christianity in Sweden begins to embrace a doctrine that has nothing to do with the universal world religion of Christianity, Sweden has then invented a new religion," Pour reasoned.

Regarding Islam, the message is clear, too.

The report continued: "After a French priest, Jacques Hamel, was murdered by ISIS sympathizers in Rouen, France, on July 26, 2016, an initiative started in Sweden in which Swedish Christians took 'selfies' with a cross to show solidarity with persecuted Christians. The initiative, called 'Mitt kors' ('My cross'), was started by three priests from the Church of Sweden.

The Church of Sweden, however, criticized it. Gunnar Sjöberg, Head of Communications for the Church of Sweden, wrote on his Facebook page: 'I really do not know about that. This thing about Christians suddenly wearing a cross as a sign for or against something. It is actually nothing new, but the call seems seditious and un-Christian in the conflicts that already exist.'"

Pour added, "So now, according to a senior official in the Church of Sweden, the call to wear a cross to show solidarity with persecuted Christians is 'un-Christian.'"

Pour, who is a member of the board of education in Malmo and linked to several think tanks, continued: "This is the state of Swedish Christianity today, and it is not certain that Christians around the world would recognize the religion in Sweden called Christianity. Christian leaders in Sweden have taken Christianity and made it into a religion that serves the political agenda of an establishment whose extreme liberal ideology lacks popular support among the Swedish people.

"If the Swedish establishment wants multiculturalism, then Christian leaders will declare that God says multiculturalism is good. If the Swedish establishment wants a liberal immigration policy, Jesus says that he has always been for a liberal immigration policy, despite the fact that he was born more than 2,000 years ago. Swedish Christianity has become a mixture of madness and deception."

Finally, a Church of Sweden magazine in Malmo recently stated, "The rainbow in the Pride Flag is also a sign of the promise between God and man.'"

"Really?" questioned Pour. "Not even the most radical gay activists believe that the rainbow in the gay pride flag is a sign of the promise between God and man. For many influential Christian leaders in Sweden, it does not matter what it says in the Bible anymore.

In fact, if you take a step back and look at the overall picture, it is clear that many Christian leaders in Sweden do not worship God; they worship the romanticized, multicultural utopia they want Sweden to become."

Are all these deviant practices bedeviling Christianity around the world simply a coincidence?

From a prophetic standpoint , we read what God predicted about these last days:  "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron"(1Timothy 4: 1-2).

The government of Canada has been calling for greater work towards identifying the causes of extremism and radicalization in Canada. In an August 2016 statement, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale stated that, "We need to know how to identify those who could be vulnerable to insidious influences that draw certain people -- especially young people -- toward extremism leading to violence."
One source of extremism is clearly in educational institutions. If the government of Canada is truly serious about attacking extremism in Canada, then having a national level investigation into educational institutions would be a good place to start.

Muslim children need to be stronger so they "won't get mixed with the moral degeneration of the Canadian community." At least this is the view of a teacher who explains why an Ottawa Islamic school uses the textbooks it does to keep Muslim youth firmly in the Sunni (Islamist) camp. At York University in Toronto, the Muslim Student Association has handed out literature that says beating a wife is permissible and that some wives will enjoy the beating.

These examples serve to highlight the many other instances of what is being taught in Ontario schools under current provincial Premier Kathleen Wynne and national leader Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Lovers of Death

Young Muslims of Canada, based in Mississauga, is an offshoot of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), which has offices in Canada and the USA. Its website, aimed at young Muslims, tells them that they should: "Prepare for jihad and be the lovers of death. Life itself shall come searching after you."

Advocating martyrdom is also being taught in Islamic (Islamist) schools in Ontario. School textbooks discuss the role of al-Khansaa, who was a contemporary of the Prophet Mohammed. All four of her sons died in a battle and she is reported to have said, "Praise be to Allah who honored me with their martyrdom." Should we be teaching young Muslim girls that as mothers they should be pleased when their sons die as martyrs?

Text Books in Islamic Schools

Currently, a number of full-time Islamic day schools in the Ottawa area are using textbooks imported from the Middle East. This means that the students are exposed to a version of Islam based on the typical Sunni Wahhabist sect popular there.[5]

This type of practice does not seem to be limited to Ottawa. In Toronto, a full time Islamic day school was the subject of a 2012 hate crimes investigation by the York Regional Police.

The Jaffari Mosque (Shia), which runs the East End Madrassah (Islamic religious school), was found to be using textbooks imported from Iran. The teaching material was flamboyantly misogynist and anti-Semitic. The books contrasted Islam to "the Jews and the Nazis."

The York Regional Police also found the following statement:

"Islam has allowed boys to engage in sports for one specific reason and that is to always keep them healthy and strong. But why should a Muslim be healthy and strong? Firstly, it is necessary to take care of the body because it is a gift from Allah. Secondly, so that you may physically be ready for jihad whenever the time comes for it." (Level 7 Curriculum).

The same investigation also revealed that: "Girls should stick to 'hobbies' that prepare them to become wives and mothers." (Level 7 Curriculum).

The East End Madrassah, one of three madrassahs operated by the Jaffari Mosque, founded in 1973, had more than 400 students when it was suddenly shut down in the middle of the police investigation.

A similar complaint was made about another Jaffari Mosque-operated madrassah in the fall of 2014. The York Regional Police have not yet responded to, or acted on, this complaint.

Ontario Public Schools

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees equality for women (Sections 15 and 28) -- provisions regularly ignored by the Toronto District School Board.

In the Valley Park Middle School, for instance, Friday Muslim prayers are being run in the school cafeteria. Boys are positioned at the front, girls at the rear; "unclean" (menstruating) girls are forced to sit outside the hall or at the very back of the room.

Only boys can be prayer leaders; girls are forbidden from doing so. Forcing girls to sit at the back, denying them a leadership role and identifying them as "unclean" is a clear violation of their rights in a public, taxpayer-funded school.

This school is in the Don Valley West home district of Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and it was the first in Ontario to allow such a practice.

The Province of Ontario Ministry of Education is aware of the current situation: it was reported by the Toronto Sun, which broke the story -- subsequently followed up by the Toronto Life, the Toronto Star and others.

University Life and Beating the Wife

The Muslim Student Association, which has a number of connections to extremism, held an annual Islam Awareness week in January 2015 at York University in Toronto. During this time, its followers handed out a number of books, including Women in Islam.

This book has a section on disciplining one's wife. It advises that wives should only be beaten as part of a three-stage correctional process. It also suggests that there are different kinds of women, including the quote from the book: "Submissive or subdued women. These women may even enjoy being beaten at times as a sign of love and concern."

Misogyny and Violence against Women and Girls

Dr. Iqbal Al-Nadvi, the chairman of Canadian Council of Imams, was also recently elected as the Amir (President) of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). ICNA openly advocates, among other policies, that women are inferior to men and that wife-beating is permissible.

It also condones holding women, under certain circumstances, as sex slaves. Above all, ICNA claims that Islam is totally incompatible with democracy. As noted, ICNA also advocates that Muslim youths in Canada should become lovers of death in the pursuit of martyrdom.

Notwithstanding its violent, misogynist and anti-democratic view, the government of Canada regularly interacts with ICNA and the Canadian Council of Imams.

Canada's Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, John McCallum, received an award for his "outstanding service" from the Canadian Council of Imams in April 2016. Patty Hajdu, the Minister for the Status of Women, is aware of this situation but has not made any public comment.

Canada's so-called feminists have, of course, also remained silent on the issue of prescribed wife-beating, inequality for women and the generally misogynistic views advanced in schools, universities and public groups such as ICNA.

In certain circles, apparently, brown women's lives do not rate as highly as white women's lives. At the same time, the social justice warrior scale places Islam -- even its Islamist variety -- at the top of the protected scale. Therefore, feminists allow the advocacy of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and wife-beatings while refusing to condemn those who advocate it, including Canada's Minister for the Status of Women.

If Prime Minister Trudeau truly is a feminist, as he says, why are he and the third- and fourth-wave feminists not speaking out against such activities?

Andy Stanley - Dangerous Path ? Tells SBC Leaders Get the Spotlight Off the Bible.

Almost 20 years ago, Andy Stanley—the son of Southern Baptist legend Charles Stanley—emerged as a new generation pastor, a man of rare gifts when it comes to communicating. He eschewed jackets and ties and the more formal trappings of traditional church.

In about 2000, he was instrumental in helping develop a leadership entity known as Catalyst.

In the midst of all this, Stanley the Younger was in a feud of sorts with Stanley the Elder over the latter’s separation from his wife (Andy’s mother).

Over time, the son’s church eclipsed the father’s church in terms of attendees, and today Andy Stanley is one-third of what I call the Evangelical Trifecta: Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, and Stanley. Quite interestingly, Warren is based on the west coast; Hybels holds down the Midwest from Chicago, and Stanley is entrenched on the east coast. In more ways than one, they blanket the country and absolutely control the evangelical narrative. Their books and methologies totally dominate evangelicalism and their church growth techniques are now American dogma.

In recent years, Andy Stanley has made waves with his brand of what I’d call Progressive Evangelicalism. His prayers at Obama’s inaugurations, and his willingness to allow Michelle Obama to speak at his North Point Church are part of a troubling trend. He also has absolutely helped mainstream homosexuality within the evangelical church.

What gives?

Stanley, who comes across as a winsome, easy-going fellow, is really a major change agent. His podcasts, messages, and books are absorbed by many tens of thousands of U.S. pastors.

I will tell you clearly that I believe he is described in the book of Jude. Men like Stanley have crept in unawares.

In our time.

What does this have to do with Israel?

Stanley’s rise, and that of his fellow change agents, coincides with a sharp downturn of support for Israel in the churches. It’s one element in an overall larger story, but the bottom line is this: Stanley’s watering-down of Christianity runs parallel to the rise of the so-called Christian Palestinianists. While Stanley himself rarely speaks of Israel, many of his friends and associations are anti-Israel.

Often, people answer me by saying: “But Charles Stanley supports Israel!”

He does so far as I know, but you do see that’s irrelevant in the context of what Andy Stanley is doing . . . don’t you?

Overall, Andy Stanley wants to fundamentally change what the Evangelical Church is. He, like Warren and Hybels, wants conformity and group-think. He wants you to think as he thinks.

And he thinks in dangerous ways.

Late last month, the Southern Baptist Convention’s “Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission” (ERLC) hosted another self-serving conference in Nashville, titled “Onward” (shockingly, the same title as that of the ERLC chief’s new book; it’s about the marketing, stupid). Stanley was invited to speak.

Boy, did he.

While ERLC President Russell Moore looked on grinning, Andy Stanley said the following:

“I would ask preachers and pastors and student pastors in their communications to get the spotlight off the Bible and back on the resurrection.”

Get the spotlight off the Bible!

Welcome to the Age of Apostasy.

Did you hear what he said? Andy Stanley speaks blasphemy and nonsense . . . and no national leader says a word.

Just for a moment, think about the illogical nature of Stanley’s statement: how do we know about the resurrection? Through Scripture.

Does anybody call him on this nonsense? No. He grows stronger.

Several years ago, Stanley gave an interview in which he openly said that as a college freshman, he embraced his professor’s contention that Genesis 1-11 is a fairy tale.

You need to understand this one bit of information undergirds everything he does. It is foundational to his thinking and “ministry.”

He is arrogant and powerful.

When you have famous national evangelicals with this kind of worldview, you will see a downturn in support for Israel. Stanley has made several outrageous statements about the Bible in the past three years; in short, he wants people to get their focus off the Bible. Can you imagine such?

Andy Stanley’s so-called ministry is an outrage. Would that he was held accountable. But he won’t be.

This is a key reason (though largely unknown by the rank-and-file) why Israel has fallen out of favor. If you relegate the Bible to myth, why pay attention? Why would Israel’s historical claims to the land be more valid than anyone else’s?

Stanley is helping destroy the American Church. In my opinion, he will be a major reason the American Church morphs into the State Church before too many more years pass.

And remember: my views of Stanley aren’t the story here. The story is the unconscionable violence he is willingly doing to Scripture and to the evangelical community.
