With Each Test, N. Korea Inches Closer to Being Able to Send a Nuclear - Tipped Missile to the U.S.

TOKYO — North Korea has taken a key step toward its goal of developing a nuclear-tipped missile capable of reaching the mainland United States, analysts said Friday after Kim Jong Un ordered yet another nuclear test.

The test, which Pyongyang said was a “nuclear warhead explosion,” appeared to be North Korea’s biggest yet.

“It’s a clear indication of progress towards developing a miniaturized nuclear warhead for North Korea’s ballistic missiles,” said Alison Evans, a North Korea analyst at IHS Markit, a consultancy.

“We estimate that North Korea has an inventory of 15 or 20 nuclear weapons and that they could be put on a truck or a short-range missile. But what North Korea is aiming for is to put them on an intercontinental ballistic missile,” she said.

North Korea was officially founded 68 years ago Friday — the day of the nuclear test — with opposition to the United States as its raison d’etre. Its propaganda lauds the protection the Kim family has provided from the “hostile” Americans.

But the reclusive country has dramatically accelerated its nuclear and missile programs since Kim Jong Un became North Korea’s third-generation leader almost five years ago, conducting three of its five nuclear tests in that time.

Since early 2014, Pyongyang has also noticeably stepped up its missile testing, launching a variety of vehicles, including some long-range missiles. Last month, it successfully launched a ballistic missile from a submarine.

On Monday, North Korea launched three extended-range Scud missiles in quick succession, apparently to try to outsmart U.S. and Japanese missile-defense systems in the region.

Then, on Friday, it said it had “standardized” nuclear warheads so that it could produce “a variety of smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear warheads of higher strike power.”

The test showed that North Korea is “ready to retaliate against the enemies” and has “practical countermeasures to the racket of threat and sanctions” against Pyongyang, the official Korean Central News Agency said.

It is impossible to verify North Korea’s claim to have mastered the technology to fit warheads to missiles, as that proof would come only with a test. And Pyongyang does have a habit of exaggerating its abilities, with its claim to have tested a hydrogen bomb in January immediately dismissed as fanciful.

But Kim’s regime has clearly been working toward being able to deliver a nuclear-tipped missile on target.

In March, state media announced that North Korean scientists had miniaturized a nuclear warhead, and photos were published of Kim examining what was described as a miniaturized weapon — a mirrored device that looked like a disco ball.

While there is still considerable skepticism that North Korea has been able to make such a breakthrough, there is also an increasing assumption among military officials in South Korea and the United States that it’s only a matter of time until North Korea gets there.

“Twenty years ago, the idea of North Korea being able to deliver a nuclear warhead to the U.S. seemed far-fetched,” said Sharon Squassoni, director of the proliferation prevention program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “They’re not there yet, but with each round of tests, they inch a little bit closer.”

But the countries in North Korea’s neighborhood are already at risk, Squassoni said. “This nuclear material could be put on a boat or an airplane or even a wheelbarrow and delivered to North Korea’s neighbors.”

Indeed, the way North Korea described its capabilities — linking them to an artillery unit — suggests that it is focused closer to home, said Joshua Pollack, editor of the Nonproliferation Review.

“They described this as a step that was necessary for them to mass-produce warheads for the theater, underscoring that regional powers ought to be taking this seriously,” he said.

North Korea has been hinting of more provocations to come. In an angry statement released after the U.N. Security Council condemned its submarine-launched ballistic missile test late last month, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Pyongyang warned of “deadly strikes to be made by the enraged people” of North Korea.

Massachusetts Forces LGBT Accommodation Rules on Churches

On October 1, 2016, the nation's strictest LGBT non-discrimination laws will come into effect in Massachusetts. According to the "Gender Identity Guidance" released by the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) last week, even churches must refer to transgender individuals by their chosen "gender identity," ignoring their biological sex. This effectively means churches must acknowledge transgender ideology or practice their doctrine on human sexuality in secret — putting Christianity in the closet.

The guidance specifically mentions churches as falling under the "public accommodation" restrictions against "discrimination" on the basis of gender identity: "Even a church could be seen as a place of public accommodation if it holds a secular event, such as a spaghetti supper, that is open to the general public," the MCAD explained.

The restrictions are massive. Any "public accommodation" must allow patrons to use men's or women's restrooms — and locker rooms and changing rooms— "consistent with their gender identity." Such places must also "use names, pronouns, and gender-related terms appropriate to employee's stated gender identity in communications with employee and with others."

These are not small asks for churches, Christian schools, and other organizations which operate on Christian principles.

Genesis 1 explicitly states that God created human beings in his own image, "male and female he created them." Jesus Christ also quotes this passage in a way he does not quote the rest of Genesis 1. In Mark 10:6, he answers the Pharisees on divorce saying, "from the beginning of creation, 'God made them male and female,'" and in Matthew 19:4, he says the same: "Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female.'"

In Christian theology, biological sex is a gift from God, meant for marriage, which itself is a weak symbol of the love between Christ and his church (Ephesians 5:31). Human sexuality is not a mistake to be corrected, and when God created men and women, he declared creation "very good," as opposed to merely "good" before their creation (Genesis 1:31).

Transgender ideology flatly denies all of this. Contrary to many scientific studies (pediatricians have even called youth transgenderism "child abuse"), it argues that people who identify with the gender opposite their biological sex should be encouraged to do so, even to the extent of undergoing "gender re-affirming surgery." This is a fancy name for bodily mutilation which causes even more confusion than before. But don't listen to me, take it from the horror stories of these de-transitioning women.

Now this ideology is entrenched in Massachusetts law, which "defines 'gender identity' as 'a person's gender-related identity, appearance or behavior, whether or not that gender-related identity, appearance or behavior is different from that traditionally associated with the person's physiology or assigned sex at birth.'" The law entrenches gender identity as a protected status, and extends protection to all public accommodations, including churches.

An evolution-propagandizing illustrated children’s book is drawing praise from the secular community and currently ranks as a best seller on Amazon.com.

“Annabelle & Aiden: The Story Of Life” is a 26-page children’s book that was published last month. Advertised as an “inspirational storybook” that will help kids “gain a basic understanding of evolution,” the book walks readers through the history of life according to Charles Darwin.

“Why do we look the way that we do? With hands and feet in neat sets of two?” asks Anabelle in the book’s opening pages. “What made my eyes? And what made my nose? And the shape of my body from my head to my toes?”

In response to Anabelle’s questions, the owl describes the evolutionary theory of life’s origins, beginning with a lifeless blob millions of years ago.

“In a little corner, on a tiny blue dot, deep under the ocean, in a very special spot…An itty bitty thing woke up anew, and came alive. I tell you, it’s true!” the owl says.

“But to share this world, it needed a friend,” the owl continues. “So it pushed and it pushed and it managed to create a perfect copy of itself: a new friend and mate.”

The owl goes on to say that “slight random changes” created all the species of life in the world today, including humans.

“Every living thing, people from every single race, their dogs, cats, and flowers, came from the same exact place,” the owl asserts. “A young boy in Africa, the grass, bugs and bees, your teacher’s pet parrot who speaks Cantonese. We are all related.”

In addition to the dialogue between the owl and the girls, pro-evolution statements are interspersed throughout the book.

“Every animal, every single form of life, all share a common ancestor,” one page in the book says.

“If you go back far enough, people, like most mammals, evolved from fish,” another page claims.

A few well-known evolutionists, including Bill Nye and Lawrence Krauss, have praised “Annabelle & Aiden” for its potential to convince young readers of evolution’s validity. Last week the book was recognized on Amazon.com as the #1 best seller in the children’s prehistoric books category.

The book’s author, J.R. Becker, believes evolution is an “established fact” that should be taught to children from a young age.

“I simply see myself as doing absolutely nothing more than delivering facts to children,” Becker said in a recent interview with Patheos.com. “If there’s ‘controversy’ about that, well, I try to ignore that noise.”

As previously reported, evolutionists are increasingly targeting young children in their campaign to spread Darwinian mantra. Last year, an evolution-promoting author published a children’s book titled “Grandmother Fish” that tells preschoolers they are the byproducts of evolution and the descendants of fish.

“Yes, secularists know where the battle is in this culture: it’s for the hearts and minds of the next generation. And they are growing increasingly aggressive in trying to capture the next generation—starting from a younger and younger age,” wrote Answers in Genesis CEO Ken Ham in a review of “Grandmother Fish.” “That’s why parents and church leaders need to be active in discipling the next generation to stand on the authority of God’s Word from the very beginning.”
