Why You Should be Paying Attention to America's Quiet War on Cash

A new war on cash is being waged that threatens freedom in a more subversive way than ever before.

Banks and governments around the world are cracking down on the use of paper money, and in turn, eliminating any anonymity left in the current system. Through strict rules on cash transactions and civil asset forfeiture laws, for example, the system has already instituted penalties for using cash.

But as payments evolve into a purely digital network, the consequences of this new paradigm are being brought into the spotlight.

The ability to track, record, and mediate transactions of all individuals is a power dictators throughout history could have only dreamed of. Those who value privacy are turning to alternatives like cash, cryptocurrencies, and precious metals, but these directly threaten central bank dominance. 

This ongoing tug-of-war in financial innovation will determine whether we enter an age of individual empowerment or centralized enslavement.

As mundane as it may seem, the main reason for this push to go cashless is directly tied to what world central banks are doing to prop up their economies. The manipulation of interests rates to zero or even negative has left central banks no ammunition to fight off the next recession. 

Without the ability to cut interest rates even further, stimulating economic growth is nearly impossible.

The decisions made in response to the 2008 crisis have led to a perverted environment in which customers could be charged just for holding money in their accounts. 

As long as individuals have the ability to move their funds into paper currency and escape the losses, banks are still limited to how far they can push the envelope. 

Regardless, the federal government continues to pressure banks into issuing "Suspicious Activity Reports" for withdrawals of even as little as $5,000. That amount will undoubtedly decrease if and when more people resort to stuffing cash under their mattresses.

Kenneth Rogoff, the former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund, noted in a recent paper how a cashless world would expand banks' options:

"In principle, cutting interest rates below zero ought to stimulate consumption and investment in the same way as normal monetary policy, by encouraging borrowing. Unfortunately, the existence of cash gums up the works. If you are a saver, you will simply withdraw your funds, turning them into cash, rather than watch them shrink too rapidly. 

Enormous sums might be withdrawn to avoid these losses, which could make it difficult for banks to make loans."

Conditioning the public to believe privacy and mere possession of cash are criminal acts is key to the establishment's push into this new digital model. 

The media's focus on cash and Bitcoin being used to fund cartels, terrorism, and gang activity is just a smokescreen for the real agenda of complete control -- especially considering the big banks have already been caught laundering money for cartels and terrorist groups. 

The disruptive role cryptocurrencies and precious metals will play in this grand scheme is yet to be seen, but for now, they're the best competition to the fiat dollar hegemony.

Bitcoin has been the trailblazer of blockchain technologies. With its mobility and limitless applications, it has created an entire frontier for entrepreneurial innovation. 

Bitcoin's peer-to-peer network promotes free association, free trade, and increased privacy without needing a government or bank stamp of approval. With the help of free-thinking developers, the cashless revolution could take shape as an open-sourced network that empowers people in incredible ways. 

The cashless central bank knockoff being put in place is nothing more than a trojan horse that, over time, will reveal itself as obsolete, like all other centralized models. 

The transformative effect on communication that will come with the development of the internet offers some idea of what the blockchain will do for the financial sector. Peer-to-peer banking has done a better job of encouraging small business growth and entrepreneurship than any government policy ever has.

The rapid rise of Bitcoin's price created a frenzy of interest, but the volatility and hacking scandals that followed have stalled the momentum. If cryptocurrencies are going to have a real chance as a viable alternative to government paper, they have a lot to prove before they can win over the masses. 

The blockchain ecosystem needs time to stabilize, and the public needs a chance to educate themselves on its potential. Until then, a balance between this new technology and more stable, time-tested assets can create a foundation for those seeking financial independence.

Gold and silver bullion shouldn't be overlooked when it comes to personal finance; with a hard asset that preserves wealth, losses from inflation and negative interest rates can be a thing of the past. Not only have they outlasted every government fiat currency in history, but they also provide a way to hold value off the books and transact anonymously. 

With precious metals, there is no counterparty risk, and their worth isn't dependent on any government, bank or company. Having tangible assets directly in your possession assures the purchasing power of your savings is secure.

Euro Pacific Capital CEO, Peter Schiff, warned about not diversifying out of fiat currency:

"People should have an escape valve for their money, their assets. If you have substantial financial assets, the government is going to confiscate the purchasing power of those assets and spend it."

The government's crusade to restrict financial freedom is just beginning; as always, fear and propaganda will be used to condition the masses into submission. The personal responsibility needed to protect yourself from the inevitable changes in the system can be overwhelming, but without taking the proper steps, the current ruling class will make the decisions for you.

A cashless society is sold as a way to protect your identity, prevent crime, and create a safer world, but there is always a tradeoff. 

The only cashless model that can succeed is a decentralized one that can sustain itself without bailouts or manipulation. Banks and governments aren't motivated by some noble vision for society; like all humans, self-interest is paramount. 

If their power monopoly is threatened by cash, free speech, drugs, or anything else, that threat will be demonized and attacked with no mercy. 

Although this technology based future has many unknowns, hopefully, the path we choose will create opportunities for entrepreneurs to make real progress against this financial oligarchy.

U.S. Congressmen: Judea and Samaria not West Bank But Part of State of Israel

U.S. Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) spoke to an Israeli delegation this week about congressional support of the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, Israel National News reported.
“I want to say to all the people of Samaria that they are beloved by the American people, and we believe that Judea and Samaria are not the ‘West Bank’ but part of the state of Israel,” Franks told the Samarian Regional Council delegation on Capitol Hill.

The council’s chief Yossi Dagan visited Washington D.C. to meet with more than a dozen Republican and Democrat legislators to discuss the U.S. support of Israel’s presence in Judea and Samaria.

“There are people in the U.S. Congress who, no matter what, will continue to work on behalf of Judea and Samaria, who will continue to do whatever they can to fight on behalf of Israel and ensure that you will never feel alone in this world,” Franks said in the meeting that included Texas congressman Louie Gohmert, who echoed that sentiment.

Dagan urged Congress to pressure the Obama administration to stop demanding that Israel freeze Jewish building in Judea and Samaria.

“The pressure the American government is putting on the Israeli government to strangle settlement and block construction creates a situation where our children are forced to learn in caravans rather than normal buildings, like other children around the world,” Dagan said.

Halting construction prevents children in Judea and Samaria from living close to their parents due to lack of housing, he explained.

“The international pressure has also prevented Israel from expanding the water infrastructure in Samaria as needed, which at the end of the day means both Israeli and Arab residents were left without water for much of this past summer,” Dagan added.

The main argument in support of a mid-tribulation rapture is in equating the last trumpet of 1 Cor. 15:52, with the trumpet of Revelation 11:15. The suggestion is that the last trumpet of 1 Cor. 15:52, which signifies the Rapture, is the same as the 7th trumpet of Revelation 11:15, which occurs at the mid-point of the Tribulation Period. This implies that the rapture will take place at that time.The last trumpet of 1 Corinthians 15:52 is the last trumpet of the age of grace, the church age, and the 7th trumpet of Revelation 11:15 is the last trumpet in a series of judgments and is not related to the rapture.

Mid-Tribulationism takes away IMMINENCY which is clearly taught in scripture. "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh" (Matthew 24:44).

"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only" (Matthew 24:36). If we say the rapture takes place at the Midtribulation point then everyone would know both day and the hour.

A Unique Generation - The NewTestament scriptures teach us that there will come a generation of believers who will see the signs of the approaching Day of the Lord (Tribulation Period) and know that the rapture is near, because, it will precede the Day of the Lord.Paul taught this in 1 Thessalonians 5:4, He taught that there would come a generation who would recognize the signs of the approaching Day of the Lord. He said, "But ye brethren are not in darkness, that That day should overtake you as a thief."

The writer to the Hebrews taught the same thing in Hebrews10:25. He said, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." When you see the Day of the Lord approaching this is what you ought to do, be faithful in assembling together, and exhort one another. That clearly implies the rapture is near for a specific generation.

Today we see the shadows of events that will take place in the tribulation period. We see the preparations now under way for the coming world government, the Day of the Lord is at hand. We see the foreshadowing of the coming world church, the Day of the Lord is at hand. We see the preparations for the all three wars of the tribulation period, the Day of the Lord is at hand. We see the alliance of Russia and Iran forming for the war of Ezekiel 38-39, the Day of the Lord is near. We see the technology in place for the mark of the beast, the day of the Lord is near. We see the revived Roman Empire forming in Europe, the day of thr Lord is at hand.

Fulfilled Prophecy today confirms that we are that generation! The signs of the soon coming Tribulation Period are multiplying all around us. Health of Candidates Prompt Scrutiny of Running Mates Views on Israel

With questions surrounding the health of both presidential candidates in the spotlight, the positions of their running mates on Israel are attracting fresh scrutiny from the Jewish community.

Hillary Clinton's medical episode at the 9/11 memorial, which her doctor has said was due to pneumonia, highlighted the candidate's previous health problems, while the refusal of both Clinton and Donald Trump to release their full medical records fuels media speculation about the physical fitness of whoever will be America's next commander-in-chief.

These concerns have led to a renewed look at the policies and opinions of their vice presidential picks -- and potential successors.

"I think of this as the Horace Greeley conundrum," Professor Gil Troy of McGill University told JNS.org. While no presidential candidate has ever died or been incapacitated in the middle of a race, Greeley -- the 1872 nominee of the Liberal Republican party -- came close: he passed away only weeks after election day, and before the Electoral College had balloted. 

Though Greeley had already lost in a landslide, "it does raise all kinds of cinematic scenarios," according to Troy, the author of several books on American presidents and executive elections.

In the event of a health crisis during an election, a presidential candidate's running mate does not automatically stand in his or her stead. However, it seems likely that the leaders of each party would indeed choose their vice presidential nominee as their new standard-bearer.

For friends of Israel, the candidates' evasiveness about their health records makes the views of their running mates suddenly much more important.

Pro-Israel supporters

I believe Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence is widely regarded as having been a strong supporter of the Jewish state while in Congress and as the governor of Indiana. 

When he was a member of the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013, Pence co-chaired the Congressional Task Force Against Antisemitism and sought to make US aid to the Palestinian Authority conditional on the PA's adherence to the Oslo Accords.

As governor, Pence signed into law what Israel's ambassador to the US called the "toughest anti-BDS legislation in the nation." Pence was also part of a group of 15 Republican governors who publicly opposed the Iran nuclear deal.

Pence sees Israel as America's ally in the war on terror and as an exemplar of American values.

At the same time, he makes no bones about the fact that his affection for Israel is anchored in his religious faith. "Like the overwhelming majority of my constituents, my Christian faith compels me to cherish the state of Israel," he told the 2009 AIPAC national conference. 

As an evangelical Christian, Pence's positions on some social issues are at odds with the views of most Jewish voters. Whether his share of the Jewish vote would rise above the 25-30 percent that other recent GOP nominees received would depend on whether most American Jews regard domestic or foreign policy as their priority this year.

Clinton's running mate, Senator Tim Kaine, is "clearly an Obamian in his foreign policy approach," Troy notes. Kaine supported the Iran agreement and was among the minority of Democrats who boycotted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's 2015 address to Congress.

"I knew not going to the speech might make some folks mad with me - there would be a political price," he told The Forward at the time. "But I felt so strongly as a matter of principle that this was done in an entirely inappropriate way."

Kaine addressed this year's national conference of the political action group J Street. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, J Street contributed $123,812 to Kaine in the 2012 election cycle, and $44,901 this year, prior to his selection as the Democratic vice presidential nominee.

As governor of Virginia, Kaine provoked controversy with his 2007 appointment of Dr. Esam Omeish to the Virginia Commission on Immigration. YouTube videos showed Omeish declaring at a Palestinian rally in Washington that "the jihad way is the way to liberate your land" from "the brutal, aggressive regime of the Zionist entity in the Middle East." As a result, Kaine asked for Omeish's resignation from the commission.

Pundit Ari Feldman has argued that Kaine would be "the Jewiest" vice president. Writing in The Forward, Feldman cited Kaine's support for Palestinian statehood; his hosting of the first-ever Passover seder as Virginia's governor; the decision by the Sabra hummus company to open a factory in Virginia during his term in office; and the fact that the daughter and son-in-law of a prominent Virginia rabbi, Jack Moline, met when they were both working on Kaine's campaign.

"Both Pence and Kaine would likely be responsive to the pro-Israel community," veteran political consultant Hank Sheinkopf told JNS.org. "Realistically, however, world political realities will overtake whatever emotional ties any president might have with Israel," according to Sheinkopf, whose clients have included former president Bill Clinton. "There simply is no savior and American Jews are deluding themselves and denying history should they think otherwise."

Dying in office

It is noteworthy that there have been three instances in American history when health problems brought down a president.

William H. Harrison was stricken with pneumonia after delivering his two-hour 1841 inaugural address in a cold rain. He died after barely a month in office. 

The fact that Vice President John Tyler then ascended to the presidency had no notable impact on matters of Jewish concern, except that he was the first president to appoint an American consul to Palestine, which was then under Turkish occupation. The consul, Warder Cresson, was, like Tyler, an early Christian supporter of the idea of reviving the ancient Jewish homeland.

Woodrow Wilson suffered a major stroke in October 1919, late in his second term. Vice President Thomas Marshall never became president, however, because Wilson refused to acknowledge that he was incapacitated. 

First Lady Edith Bolling Galt Wilson and senior White House aides hid the severity of the president's condition from the public and took over most of the decision-making during Wilson's final months in office.

Senior aides to President Franklin D. Roosevelt successfully concealed his heart disease, chronic blood pressure and other ailments in order to ensure his reelection in 1944. FDR died in office in April 1945, just ten months after choosing Missouri senator Harry S. Truman to replace Henry Wallace as his vice president.

"The choice of a running mate by a presidential candidate can turn out to be very important," Ronald Radosh, a fellow at the Hudson Institute, told JNS.org. He is the co-author of A Safe Haven: Harry S. Truman and the Founding of Israel.

"Had FDR chosen someone other than Truman as his vice president, the Palestine Jewish community might not have had the support of the United States when its leaders declared a Jewish state," Radosh said. 

"Although Truman did not see fit to end the arms embargo to the Middle East, which meant Israel could not legally purchase US arms to fight the invading Arab armies, his recognition gave Israel legitimacy and allowed the US to offer it economic loans and aid. Some of the other hopefuls for the post would not have been so friendly to the Zionist cause."

Germany Readies Internal War on Terror, Prepares for Terror Attacks

There have been several alarming developments in Germany over the past few weeks. For the first time since the end of the Cold War, the German government has told its citizens to begin stockpiling food and water. 

And not long after announcing that, the government suggested that they may bring back the draft, which was abolished in 2011 after it was deemed to be archaic and unnecessary.

Initially the government was reluctant to bluntly spell out exactly why they wanted to bring back conscription or why their citizens should start stockpiling necessities. But based on some of the reports that have come from the German government since then, it's obvious that they're preparing terrorist attacks. 

And not the kind of run of the mill attacks that Germany has seen over the summer. It seems like Germany is preparing for the kind of terror attacks that could break down their society.

For instance, the German military admitted in August that dozens of Islamic extremists had infiltrated the armed forces. However, that's nothing compared to what Germany's interior minister recently admitted.

Speaking in an interview with Bild newspaper, Thomas de Maiziere said there were currently at least 520 "potential attackers" in the country, which has been on edge since two Islamic State-inspired attacks in July.

He said another 360 "relevant" people were known to police because of their close proximity to the potential attackers.

Many Germans fear that fighters belonging to the Islamic State jihadist group could have slipped into Germany with the roughly one million of refugees from Syria, North Africa and Asia who arrived last year.

"The terror threat now stems from foreign hit teams as well as fanatical lone wolves in Germany," de Maiziere said in the interview ahead of the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in the United States, which were partly coordinated from Germany.

And when you think about it, 520 could very well be a conservative estimate. The German government allowed over a million refugees into its borders. For all we know there could be well over a thousand of these lunatics lurking in Germany.

In any case, you have wonder what the German government is going to do about this threat. If a dozen terrorists decided to coordinate several attacks in a short period of time, it could disrupt the whole country for days. 

But if Germany is bombarded with hundreds of terror attacks, it could lead to a total breakdown of society. That's probably why the German government is getting ready for the day when they may have to deploy their soldiers domestically.  From NBC News..

MAINZ, Germany -- Germany is preparing to train troops to be deployed within its borders for the first time since World War II amid fears of terrorist attacks.

The country's armed forces will hold joint drills with police early next year, officials confirmed.

Authorities stress that counterterrorism measures will primarily remain the responsibility of police.

However, the potential for large-scale attacks have made the use of German military assets "conceivable, even probable," according to Lt. Gen. Martin Schelleis, the Bundeswehr's chief of joint support services.

Obviously, Germany is preparing for something big and messy on their own soil. The only question that remains, is will their society prevail after it's all said and done?

Sometimes incredible stories are actually true, and in this case, experts agree that a small onyx stone, claimed to be given to a Knight Templar over 1,000 years ago and handed down through one family from generation to generation, is actually what the present owner claims: a gem from the breastplate of the High Priest in Jerusalem.

A Magical, Prophetic Stone?

The stones of the choshen mishpat,  the High Priest’s breastplate, were referred to in the Bible as the urim v’tummim, a phrase that defies translation.

And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aharon’s heart Exodus 28:30

The Talmud (Yoma 73a) describes how questions were put to the breastplate, and the stones would light up to spell out the answer. The book of Samuel lists the urim v’tummim as one of the three forms of divine communication: dreams, prophets, and the urim v’tummim.

And when Shaul inquired of Hashem, Hashem answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. I Samuel 28:6.

According to the Talmud (Yoma 21b), the urim v’tummim were lost when Jerusalem was sacked by the Babylonians. The Book of Ezra mentions that individuals who were unable to prove, after the Babylonian captivity had ended, that they were descended from the priesthood before the captivity began, were required to wait until priests in possession of urim v’tummim were discovered.

In addition to the 12 stones mounted on the breastplate were two sardonyx stones fixed in gold settings on the shoulders of the High Priest.  

“And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of memorial for the children of Israel; and Aharon shall bear their names before Hashem upon his two shoulders for a memorial”. Exodus 28:12

Experts believe this is one of those stones. If this is so, contained within it is the power of prophecy and it may play an important role in returning the Priestly Caste to serve in the Temple.

Discovery: Too Incredible to Believe

In 2000, Dr. James Strange, a noted professor in religious studies and archaeology, traveled to South Africa. An acquaintance suggested Dr. Strange contact a family she had met there and if he could, help them with a pro-bono appraisal of a gemstone. They were of humble means and Dr. Strange was a certified appraiser whose services were highly sought after.

Dr. Strange met with the family, intending to humor them. Instead, he was astounded by what they showed him. “I was indeed amazed at the gemstone,” Dr. Strange told Breaking Israel News. The stone itself was nothing special. A semi-precious sardonyx, it had little intrinsic worth.

But Dr. Strange was puzzled by the object he held in his hands. “I was unaware that anyone in the late Middle Ages had the technology to cut a hemisphere in such a medium, so I tried to exhaust all other explanations,” he said.

Even more astounding than the cut of the stone was the inexplicable inscription inside the stone, visible through the clear surface: two letters in ancient Hebrew. Dr. Stone wrote in his appraisal of the gem, “There is no modern or ancient technology known to me by which an artisan could produce the inscription, as it is not cut into the surface of the stone.”

Dr. Strange was an expert but when faced with such a mystery, he sought help. He turned to Ian Campbell, Director of the Independent Coloured Stones Laboratory in Johannesburg and a leading South African gemologist. Campbell was equally dumbfounded.

He studied the stone, trying to ascertain its origin. The owner’s story placing it on the High Priest’s breastplate were too incredible. But the family had documentation that traced its descent from a Crusader-period male ancestor who had been in the Holy Land in the Middle Ages and claimed the stone was a reward from the High Priest. Could it be true?

The Thousand-Year Story

According to the Auret family tradition, the ancestor, named Croiz Arneet deTarn Auret, received the stone from “the High Priest” in gratitude for his part in freeing Jerusalem around 1189. The custodianship of the stone was passed on in the Auret family through the male line until the nineteenth century. That tradition was broken when Abraham Auret passed away in 1889, bequeathing the stone to his daughter, Christina Elizabeth.

After her marriage to William James Hurst, the stone left the Auret name, and has been passed on from mother to daughter ever since. Meticulously recorded family trees and genealogical reports corroborate the story. The stone was passed on as an inheritance and is presently owned by an elderly woman in South Africa, who wishes to remain anonymous.

It has been strongly transmitted to each member of the family through the centuries that it was God’s hand that inserted the mysterious inscription inside the stone.

Experts Agree

The mystery of the writing remained. Dr. Strange noted that the stone had no external markings, so it clearly hadn’t been set in a ring or a necklace. He was forced to conclude that it had probably been set in a large plate or breastplate. He dated production of the stone to approximately the 5th century BCE.

As an appraiser, Dr. Strange could not erase all doubt, but he could certainly evaluate it as a one-of-a-kind. He appraised the stone’s value at $175-$225 million.

The gemologist, Mr. Campbell, photomicrographed (photographing via a microscope) the stone, confirming it had not been cut open to make the inscription. When asked to estimate the value of the stone, Mr. Campbell wrote, “How does one logically go about putting a value to something like a proven religious artifact that is a ‘one of’ article?”

He estimated that $200 million was a “fair starting point”.

The owner of the stone also consulted Professor M. Sharon from the University of Witwatersrand. The professor, an expert in ancient Hebrew, was given a photo of the stone. The blurry photographs hinted at something astounding but he had to be sure. Intrigued, he asked to examine the actual stone.

In his written report, he said that when he held it to the light, he was amazed to see very clearly inside the stone itself, two letters in ancient Hebrew. The letters seemed to be engraved or burnt into the heart of the stone.

“Due to the clarity of the letters and their fine definition it would be incredible if they are a coincidental natural formation in the stone,” he stated in his notarized report. “The lack of any apparent sign of interference with the surface makes the existence of the letters inside the stone a real enigma.”

He noted the inscriptions in ancient Hebrew script of what he described as “the equivalent of our ‘B’ and ‘K’.” He identified the style of script, dating it to be from the year 1000 BCE, give or take 200-300 years.

In 1994, Dr. Joan Goodnick Westenholz, who served as Chief Curator at the Bible Lands Museum in Jerusalem, examined the stone. She concluded, “It is a unique object that has no similar or identical counterpart; it is the only one of its kind in the world.”

Dr. Goodnick Westenholz believed that the gem was “priceless”, estimating the date of the stone’s production to be approximately the 7th century BCE. She noted the inscription “in the shape of a possible letter is a ninth century form of an archaic Hebrew letter bet.”

In her notarized report, she observed next to the letter bet “what can be perceived as the image of a wolf.” She noted that the wolf corresponded to the blessing Jacob gave Benjamin.

But Is It True?

Dr. Westenholz , Dr. M. Sharon, and Ian Campbell have since passed away, but Breaking Israel News was able to confirm that their statements and documentation were genuine. Campbell’s apprentice, Jeremy Rothon, confirmed the original appraisal and told Breaking Israel News that he was well aware of the stone’s heritage. It had made an enormous impression on Campbell and he had discussed it at length with his student.

Dr. Strange remembers the stone very well, and is more convinced than ever of its authenticity. “A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then,” Dr. Strange told Breaking Israel News. “I calculated then that if it were a fraud, then one or more very similar others would show up on the international market rather soon, but to my knowledge none has.”

He called for new examination of the gem. “I think this object needs a new appraisal and as many scientific tests as possible to determine whether it is genuine,” said Dr. Strange. “If it turns out to be an artifact important to the history of the Jewish people, then that is truly wonderful.  If it turns out to be a masterful fraud, then I will be pained that I was duped.”

The Journey Home

The present owner has contracted with a South African businessman to find investors who are willing to purchase the stone and bring it home to Israel. Both parties prefer to remain anonymous. When he saw the stone and understood what it was, the businessman was dismayed, understanding that it could easily turn into a commodity, an object of greed. He recognized that this small stone was an enormous part of Jewish history and set out to find an investor who would recompense the owner with the intention of bringing it to Israel and donating it to the Temple.

“I’ve been involved with deals like this before,” he told Breaking Israel News. “There are pieces of Egyptian heritage in museums all over the world. People find something and sell it, without thinking about what it is. That is what is done and it is a shame, even more so with this stone. Several people have been trying to buy or sell this stone, turning it into a business. All I really wanted to do was get the stone back to Israel where it belongs.”

Many people have begun to discount the Jewish connection to Israel and the Temple Mount, claiming the Jewish Temples are fairytale accounts. This small stone and its miraculous engraving that once lit up the High Priest’s breastplate are proof that the Temple stood in Jerusalem, and may signal the return of more artifacts that have been misplaced, waiting to return home.

America's Homeless Tent Cities are Booming

Just like during the last economic crisis, homeless encampments are popping up all over the nation as poverty grows at a very alarming rate.  

According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, more than half a million people are homeless in America right now, but that figure is increasing by the day.  And it isn't just adults that we are talking about.  

It has been reported that that the number of homeless children in this country has risen by 60 percent since the last recession, and Poverty USA says that a total of 1.6 million children slept either in a homeless shelter or in some other form of emergency housing at some point last year.  

Yes, the stock market may have been experiencing a temporary boom for the last couple of years, but for those on the low end of the economic scale things have just continued to deteriorate.

Tonight, countless numbers of homeless people will try to make it through another chilly night in large tent cities that have been established in the heart of major cities such as Seattle, Washington, D.C. and St. Louis.  Homelessness has gotten so bad in California that the L.A. City Council has formally asked Governor Jerry Brown to officially declare a state of emergency.   

And in Portland the city has extended their "homeless emergency" for yet another year, and city officials are really struggling with how to deal with the booming tent cities that have sprung up...

There have always been homeless people in Portland, but last summer Michelle Cardinal noticed a change outside her office doors.

Almost overnight, it seemed, tents popped up in the park that runs like a green carpet past the offices of her national advertising business. She saw assaults, drug deals and prostitution. Every morning, she said, she cleaned human feces off the doorstep and picked up used needles.

"It started in June and by July it was full-blown. The park was mobbed," she said. "We've got a problem here and the question is how we're going to deal with it."

Most of the time, those that establish tent cities do not want to be discovered because local authorities have a nasty habit of shutting them down and forcing homeless people out of the area.  For example, check out what just happened in Elkhart, Indiana...

A group of homeless people in Elkhart has been asked to leave the place they call home. For the last time, residents of 'Tent City' packed up camp.

City officials gave residents just over a month to vacate the wooded area; Wednesday being the last day to do so.

The property has been on Mayor Tim Neese's radar since he took office in January, calling it both a safety and health hazard to its residents and nearby pedestrian traffic.

"This has been their home but you can't live on public property," said Mayor Tim Neese, Elkhart.

If they can't live on "public property", where are they supposed to go?

They certainly can't live on somebody's "private property".

This is the problem - people don't want to deal with the human feces, the needles, the crime and the other problems that homeless people often bring with them.  So the instinct is often to kick them out and send them away

Unfortunately, that doesn't fix the problem.  It just passes it on to someone else.

As this new economic downturn continues to accelerate, our homelessness boom is going to spiral out of control.  Pretty soon, there will be tent cities in virtually every community in America.

In fact, there are people that are living comfortable middle class lifestyles right at this moment that will end up in tents.  We saw this during the last economic crisis, and it will be even worse as this next one unfolds.

Just like last time around, the signs that the middle class is really struggling can be subtle at first, but when you learn to take note of them you will notice that they are all around you.  The following comes from an excellent article in the New York Post...

Do you see grocery stores closing? Do you see other retailers, like clothing stores and department stores, going out of business?

Are there shuttered storefronts along your Main Street shopping district, where you bought a tool from the hardware store or dropped off your dry cleaning or bought fruits and vegetables?

Are you making as much money annually as you did 10 years ago?

Do you see homes in neighborhoods becoming run down as the residents either were foreclosed upon, or the owner lost his or her job so he or she can't afford to cut the grass or paint the house?

Did that same house where the Joneses once lived now become a rental property, where new people come to live every few months?

Do you know one or two people who are looking for work? Maybe professionals, who you thought were safe in their jobs?

Don't look down on those that are living in tents, because the truth is that many "middle class Americans" will ultimately end up joining them.

The correct response to those that are hurting is love and compassion.  We all need help at some point in our lives, and I know that I am certainly grateful to those that have given me a helping hand at various points along my journey.

Sadly, hearts are growing cold all over the nation, and the weather is only going to get colder over the months ahead.  Let us pray for health and safety for the hundreds of thousands of Americans that will be sleeping in tents and on the streets this winter.
