Social Media Companies Gather to Plot Strategy (censorship) for 2018 Election

Is the social media crackdown on conservatives about to get even worse?

On Friday, representatives from Facebook, Google, Twitter, Microsoft, Snapchat and other major social media companies gathered to discuss "strategy" for the 2018 election.  Supposedly they were going to discuss how to combat the flow of "misinformation", but we know what that means.

Every time the social media giants pledge to do more to crack down on "fake news", more conservatives get censored.  In recent months we have witnessed the greatest purge of conservative voices in the history of the Internet, and as you will see below, even more prominent voices have been hit with bans in recent days.

Of course the social media companies are pledging that their censorship efforts are being implemented in an even-handed manner, but obviously all of their meddling has greatly enhanced the probability that Democrats will emerge victorious in November.

According to Breitbart, this gathering of social media executives was initiated by Facebook, and it was held at Twitter's headquarters in San Francisco...

Facebook is reportedly meeting with multiple other Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe Friday to discuss how to prevent the spread of "misinformation" across their platforms ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.

Business Insider reports that Silicon Valley tech giants including Facebook, Twitter, Google, Microsoft, and Snap will be holding a meeting at Twitter headquarters in San Francisco Friday to discuss the 2018 U.S. midterm elections. According to emails obtained by BuzzFeed News, Facebook's head of cybersecurity policy Nathaniel Gleicher invited 12 representatives from the companies to the meeting.

But this isn't the first time a gathering like this has taken place.

In fact, we now know that executives from many of the largest tech companies met with representatives from the deep state back in May...

In May, representatives from Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Oath, Snap and Twitter met with Christopher Krebs, an undersecretary at the US Department of Homeland Security, and Mike Burham from the FBI's foreign influence taskforce.

Since that meeting, we have seen social media censorship get much, much worse.

Could it be possible that there is a connection?

And we have also just learned that Facebook will now be rating all users (that means you too) for "trustworthiness"...

The social media giant plans to assign users a reputation score that ranks them on a scale of from zero to one, according to the Washington Post.

It marks Facebook's latest effort to stave off fake news, bot accounts and other misleading content on its site.

But the idea of a reputation score has already generated skepticism about how Facebook's system will work, as well as criticism that it resembles China's social credit rating system.

Yes, this is almost exactly like China's new "social credit rating system".  In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Facebook actually got that idea from them.

We are seeing the rise of a tyrannical Big Brother technocracy, and it is getting worse with each passing month.  Just check out some of the big name conservatives that have been censored by social media in recent days...

-The Hagmann Report was just slapped with a 90 day ban by YouTube.

-Verity Baptist Church was just completely banned by YouTube.

-The David Horowitz Freedom Center just had the processing of their donations blocked by Visa and Mastercard.

-"Activist Mommy" Elizabeth Johnston was recently banned by Facebook.

In addition, Facebook's censorship of PragerU has resulted in a drop of engagement of more than 99 percent...

Conservative non-profit group PragerU also recently appeared to be the latest victims of Facebook censorship, as many recent posts from the group's Facebook paged suffered a 99.9999 percent drop in engagement based on Facebook's own dashboard. The social media giant also pulled down two PragerU videos, which it labeled "hate speech."

The social media giants seem determined to try to kill off the conservative movement in this country, and in my latest book I discuss how political correctness has gotten completely and utterly out of control in America.  These elitists don't believe in free speech, because on some level they understand that their ideas would not win in a free and open marketplace of ideas.

In order to win, they must censor us.  And the more tyrannical they become, the more Americans will start turning against them.

Fortunately, there are signs that the tide is starting to turn.  Facebook's web traffic in the U.S. is way, way down, and conservatives are beginning to abandon other repressive social media platforms as well.

The Internet is supposed to be a free and open forum where all ideas are freely discussed.  If we do not stand up now, we could lose control of the Internet forever, and we must not allow that to happen.

Russia Attached 12 Flamethrowers To A “Battle Bot” And Set It Loose In Syria
Russia has created a 12-ton “battle bot” which has been equipped with 12 Shmel-M man-portable rocket launchers classified as Rocket-propelled Infantry Flamethrower by their maker. Those can be fitted with destructive thermobaric and incendiary warheads. If that assessment is accurate, maybe they can iron out the kinks and ship a few to South African farmers? Flame-throwing battle bots and mech suits with giant claws ought to do the trick.

‘Sleeper’ case could torpedo Mueller report
The substance of the case is entirely unrelated to Mueller’s investigation into whether any of President Donald Trump’s associates aided Russia’s efforts to intervene in the 2016 election. But if a Washington appeals court set to hear the murder-related case next month sides with the Justice Department and rules that judges don’t have the freedom to release grand jury information that is usually kept secret, it could throw a monkey wrench into any plans Mueller has to issue a public report on his probe’s findings, lawyers following the issue said.

Lane’s Rains Topple Records, Inundate Parts of Big Island by Bob Henson
Rainfall amounts were titanic, but damage appears to be limited, after Tropical Storm Lane pulled rainband after rainband across Hawaii from a perch well southwest of the islands. Peak rainfall totals on the eastern Big Island topped 40” at three stations, adding up to amounts that are among the highest ever observed in a tropical cyclone in the 50 U.S. states. Fortunately, wind shear disrupted Lane’s core circulation before the hurricane had a chance to plow directly into any of the islands, and Lane stalled out just far enough to the southwest to keep its central showers and thunderstorms (convection) mostly offshore.

Did Iranian Commander Just Hint Sleeper Cells are Ready to Strike in U.S.?

As tensions between Iran and the United States heat up and sanctions take effect, the already weak Iranian economy is feeling the pain, but what could Iran do to retaliate against the United States? US intelligence officials believe that strikes could include political influence campaigns, crippling cyberattacks, terrorist attacks and even targeted assassination.

In several of these cases, Iran would be expected to activate sleeper cells already present within US territory to carry out the attacks. While some of the as-yet-unactivated agents may be Iranian nationals, it is more likely that they draw from the ranks of Hezbollah and have slipped in under the guise of legal visitors and asylum seekers.

Microsoft announced last week that it had closed 82 fake websites linked to Iran and corporate intrusion campaigns. After building an employee log-in page that mimics those of a major US company, the hackers would send out emails that spoof internal company addresses, thereby tricking the employees into logging into the fake page and revealing their login credentials. Once inside corporate networks, industrial espionage, sabotage, theft, malware planting and even large-scale cyberattacks are possible.

Earlier in July of 2018, it was reported that US officials had discovered Iranian intrusions into computer systems of the electric grid, power plants, healthcare and technology companies, most likely instigated by hacker cells physically present near the air-gapped installations not accessible over the Internet.

These attacks which, if well-coordinated, could result in multi-state blackouts, water failures, bank shutdowns and e-commerce disruption, would cause both widespread panic and financial impact on the country. The threat is no longer hypothetical because as recently as July, Iranian malware was discovered in the computer systems of several electrical grid computers.

As concerned as intelligence officials are about cyberattacks on American infrastructure and businesses, the threat of Iranian sleeper cells capable of terrorist attacks is even more menacing.

In a recent war of words, the Iranian President was measured in his response but General Qassem Soleimani, leader of the elite Quds Force within Iran's Revolutionary Guard was much bolder in his threats.

"I am your foe," Soleimani said, in direct response to President Trump, "and my Quds Force is your foe. There isn't a night where we do not think about you in our sleep. I tell you, Mr. Trump, the gambler, I tell you that at this moment when you are incapable of thinking, we are closer to you in a place you never even imagined."

In this shocking statement, a top Iranian military commander is hinting at sleeper cells capable of launching terrorist attacks and targeted assassination.

Later in his response, the general warned that war with Iran would "destroy all that you possess". Continuing his rhetoric, he threatened, "You know our power in the region and our capabilities in asymmetric war. We will act and we will work."

Asymmetric war could be actions such as crashing a stock exchange, taking down a power grid, poisoning major city's water supplies, assassinating senators, setting off explosive devices at major population centers and using drones to attack the capital.

In a report to Congress, intelligence officials confirmed that such attacks are not only plausible but relatively easy for Iran to carry out.

In the words of Rep. Peter King (R., NY), who is on the House Homeland Security Committee, Iran poses "a direct threat to the homeland." He went on to explain to reporters that "Iranian support for Hezbollah, is active in the Middle East, Latin America, and here in the US, where Hezbollah operatives have been arrested for activities conducted in our own country. In Rep. King's opinion, "Hezbollah is probably the most experienced and professional terrorist organization in the world."

King's remarks were made before the capture of two alleged Iranian spies arrested in the U.S. on August 9, 2018 who were gathering intelligence on Americans and Iranians who oppose the regime. That intelligence was apparently to be used for attacks.

Ahmadreza Mohammadi-Doostdar, an Iranian with dual U.S. citizenship, and Majid Ghorbani, an Iranian national with permanent U.S. residency, were charged with acting as agents on behalf of the Iranian government in federal court on August 20, 2018. According to the FBI affidavit, Doostdar and Ghorbani were preparing alleged “target packages” on individuals who posed a threat to the Iranian regime on American soil.

Iran is believed to command around 200,000 fighters across the Middle East and between 50 and 60 thousand of these have already seen combat in Syria and Iraq. Through Latin America, Hezbollah has been active in making links with drug cartels and other criminal networks in its effort to infiltrate the United States.

For those who dismiss the threat of Iran-backed terrorist sleeper cells, it would be wise to look at the terrorist attacks Iran has already carried out in Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Argentina, among other countries.

Calculating the Price of U.S. Support for Israel

It's likely that even U.S. President Donald Trump's most ardent pro-Israel supporters were stopped in their tracks when they heard or read his remarks delivered on Tuesday night in West Virginia.

On a day when the political world was transfixed by the criminal convictions of two former high-ranking Trump aides, the president delivered one of his typical stream-of-consciousness speeches that covered a host of topics, including Middle East policy.

While speaking of his decision to keep his promise to move the U.S. embassy to Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Trump also made it clear that it was part of a broader strategy to broker peace with the Palestinians.

Trump indicated that as a result of this gift to Israel, the Jewish state would have to "pay a higher price" in the talks that he hopes will follow the unveiling of the peace plan that has been drafted by presidential son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner and other administrative staff.

"If there's ever going to be peace with the Palestinians, then this was a good thing to have done. We took it off the table. In past negotiations, they never got past Jerusalem. Now Israel will have to pay a higher price because it's off the table. The Palestinians will get something very good, because it's their turn next," said the president.

That means that if Israel is going to retain an undivided Jerusalem as its capital, the "something very good" that is coming to the Palestinians is undoubtedly an offer of an independent state in the West Bank.

The question is whether that will turn out to be too high a price for Israel to have paid. To some Israelis, the answer to that question is an adamant "yes."

Many on the Jewish right have assumed that the two-state option was a dead letter. After so many Palestinian rejections of peace and with hundreds of thousands of Jews living across the "green line," the idea of Trump resurrecting the concept is a bitter blow.

And yet, it's likely that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu isn't losing too much sleep about any of this.

That's not just because John Bolton, Trump's National Security Advisor, who by coincidence was visiting Israel this week, sought to downplay the idea that the embassy relocation was a quid pro quo for future concessions to the Palestinians when asked about it the next morning.

As Netanyahu already knows, the party that will really decide how high the price Israel will pay for Jerusalem or anything else in a putative peace deal isn't Trump, Bolton or Kushner. It's Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas.

If Netanyahu isn't all that worried, it's because Abbas has never been serious about peace. He walked away from past offers that were more generous than anything he could get from Trump and Netanyahu. The compromises that would be required in signing a peace deal of any kind would make Abbas and his Fatah Party vulnerable to attacks from his Hamas rivals.

Abbas made that clear when his spokesman said that the only compensation the P.A. wants from the United States is a declaration that eastern Jerusalem will be the capital of a Palestinian state--something that Trump has again said he has taken off the table. No serious observer thinks the Trump plan has any chance of success.

But that doesn't mean Israelis should ignore Trump's comments.

For many on the Jewish right, the Trump administration has been a new golden age, especially after the eight tense years of the Barack Obama presidency. Trump has kept his promise on Jerusalem, and the Palestinians' angry refusal to deal with his foreign-policy team has encouraged some Israelis to believe that they have a blank check from America that they can spend as they please.

That has led some of Netanyahu's coalition partners to think they can push through a partial or complete annexation of the West Bank that would forever end any prospect of a Palestinian state. Some in Netanyahu's cabinet were also laboring under the delusion that Trump would recognize Israel's annexation of the Golan Heights, especially since no one in their right mind is even thinking of handing the strategic plateau back to a Syria occupied by Iran and Hezbollah.

They're wrong on all counts.

Even in the improbable event of a serious negotiation with Abbas, Trump is unlikely to seriously pressure Netanyahu. As the president has indicated, he will never be more interested in a deal than the parties involved, so as long as the Palestinians aren't interested, the Israelis have little to be concerned about.

By the same token, the notion that Trump is going to foreclose even the theoretical chance of a two-state deal is a fantasy. He is too interested in maintaining good relations with Sunni Arab states like Saudi Arabia and Egypt to acquiesce to the dreams of the Israeli right and overturn a status quo that at least preserves the chance of peace in the future. As Bolton indicated, the same is true about the Golan.

The diplomatic balance of power has shifted in Israel's favor, but not so far as to allow the United States to approve of the extension of full Israeli sovereignty over the territories. That's a complication that even Trump wants no part of. Unlike some of his political allies, Netanyahu seems to know this and will tread carefully so as not to endanger relations with a friendly president.

Like the remarks about a "high price," that understanding is a bitter disappointment to some who thought Trump would realize all of their dreams about annexation. Even the most favorable American administration is not going to tell the Arab world that the Palestinians will never get a state outside of the one they already have (in all but name) in Gaza.

Yet rather than attack Trump for this message, the Jewish right needs to sober up. Trump has gone farther than any other U.S. president to support Israel's position, but he is never going to give them everything they want.
