Netanyahu Meets Hagel – Iran on Agenda

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel met at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem Tuesday morning.

Before the start of the meeting, Netanyahu said, "Israel appreciates deeply, the support – the military and security support – that it enjoys from the United States. It reflects a very deep alliance between our two countries and the defense of our common interests and our common values.

"Nowhere are these values and interests challenged more than by the arming of terrorist groups by Iran with sophisticated weapons, and equally, Iran’s attempt to arm itself with nuclear weapons," Netanyahu added. "This is a challenge that Israel cannot accept, and as you and President Obama have repeatedly said, Israel must be able to defend itself, by itself, against any threat."

Hagel responded, saying, "I'm committed to continue to strengthen this relationship, secure this relationship, and as you know, one of the main reasons I'm here is to do that.

"I've had very good conversations the last two days with your defense minister. I had a good conversation with President Peres yesterday. I was able to take a long tour up in the north and the eastern borders here, and once again it reminds me of the dangers and difficulties and challenges. But I believe together, working with our allies and our friends, we will be able to do what is right for your country, my country, and make this region a better region and a more secure region, and make Israel more secure."

Details of the two men's discussion are not known. However, the facial expressions and body language of Netanyahu and Yaalon beside Hagel Monday and Tuesday appeared very relaxed.

Gulf states ready for peace, says well-connected US rabbi
Rabbi Marc Schneier, an American congregational leader who recently met with the Bahraini king and the crown prince, urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit an Arab country and seize Israel and Sunni Muslims’ common distrust of Tehran as a path toward warming relations with parts of the Arab world.

‘Iran already past nuclear red line,’ expert says
Former IDF intel chief says Tehran will be able to break out to the bomb this summer; calls for drastic increase in sanctions.

BIG SUNSPOT, CHANCE OF FLARES
Sunspot AR1726 has developed a 'delta class' magnetic field that harbors energy for strong eruptions. This has prompted NOAA forecasters to up the odds of M-class flares to 40% and X-class flares to 15% within the next 24 hours. Because of the sunspot's almost-central location on the solar disk, any eruptions today would likely be Earth-directed.

Boston Marathon Bombers Broke Gun Laws to Acquire Weapons
Less than a week after the push by Democrats push for more gun control went down in flames in the Senate, Reuters is reporting the suspected Boston Marathon bombers ignored gun laws that are already on the books in possessing the firearms they used in shootouts with the police. Another example of how new gun control laws will not deter criminals who have been ignoring the old laws for years.

UN Human Rights Official Says Boston Got What It Deserved
UN Human Rights Council “expert” Richard Falk has published a statement saying Bostonians got what they deserved in last week’s terror attack. He quotes W.H. Auden to make his point: "to whom evil is done/do evil in return.”

Bone appetit! Muslims go wild in 'demonic' ritual
The video shows a wedding celebration in which a group of men in a frenzy tear apart a live chicken by hand, then scrabble over its pieces to eat its raw flesh. “The video is a glimpse into the dark and incomprehensible spirit that has possessed the souls of Egypt,” claims Walid Shoebat, a former Palestinian Liberation Organization operative who has since renounced his terrorist ways. “Lawlessness has abounded, excesses have gone unrestricted and the full force of Islam has greatly dimmed the land with its dark clouds, thundering about and striking without discrimination.”

Russia Launches Rail-Mobile ICBM Project

Her illness, the first H7N9 avian influenza case to be described in a medical journal, highlights the seriousness of the new strain, which has sickened at least 38 people in eastern China, killing 10, in the past two months.

That didn’t last long: networks completely ignoring Gosnell trial…again
After a month of ignoring the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the Philadelphia abortionist accused of murdering one woman and seven infants, it looked like the media had been shamed into covering the story. Barely. Even after the most gruesome detail in a trial full of them came out – a baby who survived an abortion “swimming” in a toilet and “trying to get out” – the silence resumed.

Bush Attorney General On Boston Bombing: ‘Make No Mistake, It Was Jihad’, Blames Obama
Mukasey, who served as attorney general under former President Bush from 2007 to 2009, points a finger at the Obama administration’s politically correct approach to terrorist threats as a reason for concern. “At the behest of such Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated groups as the Council on American Islamic Relations and the Islamic Society of North America, and other self-proclaimed spokesmen for American Muslims, the FBI has bowdlerized its training materials to exclude references to militant Islamism. Does this delicacy infect the FBI’s interrogation group as well?”

Have you ever had the feeling the nation is on the brink of utter disaster?

Has that feeling ever been stronger than it is right now?

  • It turns out that after spending hundreds of billions on foreign wars and nearly an equal amount on a new bureaucracy called the Department of Homeland Security, Americans are just as vulnerable to Islamic terrorist attacks as they were on 9/11.
  • For days that seemed like weeks, the systematically disarmed residents of the Boston and Cambridge area cowered in their homes and hid in their closets in fear of one armed and dangerous terrorist presumed to have been involved in the Boston Marathon bombing.
  • Sometimes it seems the war on terrorism is really a war on the people of the United States and, particularly, on their liberty, as DHS and other agencies target entire classifications of law-abiding Americans rather than those who pose the gravest threat.
  • Even when the Democrat-controlled U.S. Senate narrowly rejects harsh gun-control legislation, the DHS and other government agencies impose de facto firearms restrictions on citizens by buying up billions of rounds of ammunition, thus removing them from the free marketplace where they could be used for citizen self-defense.
  • As the economy continues its five-year cycle of sputtering, the government continues unchecked in its policy of insanely unsustainable borrowing and spending.
  • North Korea is threatening all-out nuclear war against South Korea as well as intercontinental ballistic missile attacks against the U.S.
  • Iran continues to build a nuclear arsenal of its own while periodically threatening Israel and the U.S., which it still regards as “the little Satan” and “the great Satan.”
  • The U.S. continues its slide from moral malaise to cultural hedonism that makes the late 1960s look like the 1950s by comparison, as support for “same-sex marriage” grows, the horrors of the “abortion on demand” crusade are revealed in a Philadelphia courtroom sans media coverage and an epidemic of sex abuse against children by schoolteachers, clergy and scoutmasters is not only ignored but results in capitulation by the Boy Scouts of America to the demands of those who would make the citizenry of Sodom and Gomorrah blush.
  • Most of the U.S. press, once considered an important watchdog institution against government fraud, waste, abuse and corruption, has become a disinformation factory – out of touch with the values of the people, the principles upon which the country was established and even the rule of law that specifically guards the media’s own freedom.
  • As the country becomes more divided culturally and jobs become harder to find for Americans, one of the highest priorities of the ruling elite in Washington is to ensure that tens of millions of illegal aliens already in the country are permitted to stay, while its calls for amnesty and an open border virtually invite more to emigrate, while rolling out the red carpet for terrorist enemies to enter in their wake.

Do I paint an accurate picture, or do I exaggerate?

It all suggests to me something’s got to give – that we are reaching a breaking point for America.

Is there any conceivable way “politics” as usual can save the country from disaster?

Does anyone truly believe government has any answers, or does it illustrate what Ronald Reagan said: “Government is not the solution. Government is the problem”?

Tehran media said there was no shred of evidence that the terrorist plot to attack a passenger train between Toronto and New York was linked to al Qaeda elements on its soil. Speaking at a scheduled news conference, Ramin Mehmanparast, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, accused Canada of hostility toward his country.

Although police said there was no indication of Iranian state sponsorship of the terrorist conspiracy, Assistant Commissioner James Malizia said that the two suspects had received “direction and guidance” from “Al Qaeda elements” located in Iran.

IDF: Assad used Chemical Weapons

The head of the Research Section of Military Intelligence in the IDF, Brig. Gen. Itay Brun, said Tuesday at a conference held by the Institute for National Security Studies that there Bashar Assad's regime has used chemical weapons in Syria recently.

Several people were killed as a result of this, he said.

"To the best of our professional understanding, the regime has made use of deadly chemical weapons against the rebels in a number of incidents in the past few months," he said, referring to a March 19 incident in Aleppo province in which 31 people were killed, apparently by chemical agents.

Evidence could been seen in the physical symptoms suffered by those who had apparently been exposed to chemical agents, he said.

"The reduced pupils, the foam coming out of the mouth and other additional signs provide evidence that deadly chemical weapons have been used," he said, according to a transcript provided by the army.

"Which chemical weapons? Apparently sarin. The regime is also using chemical weapons that neutralize and are not fatal," he said.

"This is a matter that is very, very troublesome," he added. "Recently there has also been widespread use of surface to surface missiles, and Hizbullah is also taking part in this."

"There is a huge arsenal of chemical weapons in Syria," Brig. Gen. Brun said. "The developments are worrisome; the very use of chemical weapons without a suitable response from the world could signal that this is legitimate.

"How will this develop? That is a good question. We need to be very, very worried by the possibility that chemical weapons will reach less responsible elements, who answer to no one."

Regarding Iran, the officer said that it is currently under "unprecedented pressures."

"It is advancing in uranium enrichment, but not in other fields of the nuclear program. The scenario according to which Iran will reach a large deal, in the coming year, with the representatives of the international community, and give up its nuclear weapons ambition, is unlikely."

Ex - MI Head: Iran Has Passed Red Line

Former Military Intelligence head, Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin, said Tuesday that "Iran has already crossed Israel's new 'red line'" regarding nuclear weapons development.

Yadlin, who is the Head of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), said that in the summer, Iran will reach a distance of one or two months between a decision and a bomb." That is, it will be able to build a nuclear bomb within a month or two of deciding to do so.

"This is a breakthrough range that will make it very difficult to stop Iran, when it decides to have a bomb."

"Israel's new red line – a problematic definition in itself – enables Iran to build a wide nuclear infrastructure without crossing the line," he explained. "It enables other nuclear activities that are not included in the red line, and makes it possible to reach a bad agreement even without crossing the line that was set."

Yadlin said that without "a drastic change" in the pressures on Iran, it will keep on "buying time" and widening its nuclear program. For Iran to sign an agreement, he said, there has to be a price for not doing so.

Negotiations can succeed, he added, if the U.S. creates a credible military option. This will be achieved if the U.S. prepares for a surgical strike for stopping the nuclear program and makes clear that it will be able to deal with the escalation that will follow such a strike."

The two suspects, arrested in Toronto and Montreal, are Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser, who are accused of an al Qaeda-backed plot to murder people on the Toronto passenger train to New York. The Canadian Mounted Police and intelligence authorities told a news conference Monday that the two suspects "had the capacity and intent" to carry out this attack. But the public was never in danger because they had been under close surveillance Since August 2012. The Canadian spokesmen cited close collaboration with the American FBI and Homeland Security Department. They said there were no known links between the thwarted attack in Canada and the Boston Marathon bombings.

Arms Deal Said to Give Obama Veto on Iran Attack By Israel

A $3 billion weapons deal was expected to ensure that the United States could block any Israeli attack on Iran.

Analysts said the U.S. offer of advanced aircraft to Israel was meant to stop any attack by the Jewish state on Iran. They said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to President Barack Obama that Washington
would have veto power over any Israeli operation against Teheran.

“The arsenal of weapons that has been promised to Israel is supposed to rein it in and leave the decision on dealing with Iran’s nuclear facilities up to the Americans,” former Israel Air Force commander [Res.] Maj. Gen. Eitan Ben-Eliyahu said.

In an analysis in the Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot on April 21, Ben-Eliyahu, who served as a consultant to the military and government,  asserted that Obama was willing to listen to Netanyahu’s warnings of Iran’s nuclear program. But the former air force chief said the prime minister was receiving U.S. weapons on condition that he demonstrates restraint.

“Let us remember that the $3 billion worth of weapons and equipment being provided to Israel will obligate the government of Israel to show restraint,” Ben-Eliyahu said. “Talk? Sure. Act? Only in full coordinationwith the United States.” The analysis, confirmed by other Israeli sources, was published during the start of the visit by U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

Hagel, who approved an Israeli request for the V-22 and KC-135 aircraft, said Israel and the United States agree on the Iranian nuclear threat but don’t agree on when a military operation would be required.

“Israel will make the decision that Israel must make to protect itself, to defend itself,” Hagel said. “When you back down into the specifics of the timing of when and if Iran decides to pursue a nuclear weapon, there may well be some differences.”
