Washington Sets Stage for Israel’s Back - Off from Demand to Shut Fordo

Grave concern was voiced in Jerusalem over the upbeat accounts appearing Thursday, Feb. 28 of the six-power talks with Iran which ended Wednesday in Almati, Kazakhstan. A Western diplomat described the nuclear talks as “more constructive and positive than in the past.” For the first time, said the diplomat, “they were really focusing on the proposal on the table” although he admitted that Iran’s willingness to negotiate seriously will not become clear until an April meeting.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi chimed in buoyantly that the talks had reached “a turning point” this week and “a breakthrough was within reach.”

Intelligence sources following the Kazakhstan negotiations told debkafile that all this optimism is far from representing the true content of the session and no practical discussion took place on “proposals on the table.” The participants did not delude themselves that the next round of nuclear talks with Iran scheduled for April would achieve any more progress on the disposal of Iran’s nuclear program than the current session. In any case, Tehran is determined not to budge from its hard and fast position on this issue – if ever – before the Iranian presidential election in the coming June.

The sudden outburst of Western-Iranian optimism is seen in Jerusalem as part of a US administration effort to soften Israel’s resistance to the continued operation of the underground plant at Fordo which is turning out 20-percent enriched uranium that is easily converted to weapons grade material.

A softer Israeli approach would lighten the nuclear cloud hanging over the meetings Barack Obama is scheduled to hold with Israeli leaders during his visit to Jerusalem on March 20.
Israel’s categorical demand is for the immediate closure of the Fordo plant.
But this is not what the US delegation put before the Iranian negotiators in Kazakhstan. Instead of demanding the plant’s shutdown, the American proposal was for Iran to suspend 20 percent uranium enrichment in a way that “constrains the ability to quickly resume operations” there.
This is a major letdown for Israel’s expectations and for Binyamin Netanyahu. No wonder the Iranian foreign minister was upbeat.

U.S. Resigned to Iran Getting Nukes?

The Obama Administration keeps insisting that it will never allow Iran to attain nuclear weapons, but Israel is growing increasingly concerned that the Washington has in fact resigned itself to the idea of a nuclear-armed Iran.

Recently, an Obama-linked think tank issued a report suggesting that there was little to fear from a nuclear Iran. One of the concerns should Iran successfully build a nuclear weapon is that ever major Middle East nation will then rush to field its own atomic bombs, turning the region into even more of a powder keg than it already is.

But the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) stated that "conventional wisdom is probably wrong," and an Iranian bomb will not produce a Middle East nuclear arms race. Again, Israel is being asked to risk its survival on "maybe."

Adding to local consternation was the fact that the recent break down of talks between Iran and international nuclear inspectors resulted in the US and fellow world powers lessening their demands on the Islamic Republic.

A new proposal asks only that Iran promise to stop enriching uranium in return for a significant reduction in sanctions. Gone is the demand that Iran actually dismantle its main uranium-enrichment facility.

At the same time, London's Daily Telegraph reports that Iran is prepping a second path to attaining nuclear weapons with the activation of a heavy water plant at Arak. The plant could potentially produce enough plutonium to build nuclear bombs.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was high time the international community take off its kid gloves in dealing with Iran.

"Like North Korea, [Iran] continues to defy all the international standards and I believe that this requires the international community to ratchet up its sanctions and make clear that if this continues there will be also a credible military sanction," said the Israeli leader.

At the same time, London's Daily Telegraph reports that Iran is prepping a second path to attaining nuclear weapons with the activation of a heavy water plant at Arak. The plant could potentially produce enough plutonium to build nuclear bombs.

Obama Administration Asks U.S. High Court to Overturn California Gay Marriage Ban

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration is asking the Supreme Court to overturn California's ban on gay marriage and take a skeptical view of similar bans elsewhere, wading into a case that could have broad implications for the right of same-sex couples to wed.

The administration said unequivocally in a friend-of-the-court brief filed late Thursday that gay marriage should be allowed to resume in California, where citizens voted to bar it in a 2008 referendum known as Proposition 8.

It does not explicitly call for marriage equality across the United States but points the court in that direction.

More immediately, the administration's position, if adopted by the court, probably would result in gay marriage becoming legal in seven other states that, like California, give gay couples all the benefits of marriage, but don't allow them to wed.

They are: Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon and Rhode Island.

The brief marks President Barack Obama's most expansive view of the legal rights of gays and lesbians to marry. He announced his personal support for gay marriage last year but has said the issue should be governed by states.

Obama, a former constitutional law professor, raised expectations that he would back a broad brief during his inauguration address on Jan. 21. He said the nation's journey "is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law."

"For if we are truly created equal, than surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well," Obama said.

Obama has a complicated history on gay marriage. As a presidential candidate in 2008, he opposed the California ban but didn't endorse gay marriage. He later said his personal views on gay marriage were "evolving."

When he ran for re-election last year, Obama announced his personal support for same-sex marriage, but said marriage was an issue that states, not the federal government, should decide.

American public opinion has shifted in support of gay marriage in recent years.

In May 2008, Gallup found that 56 per cent of Americans felt same-sex marriages should not be recognized by the law as valid. By last November, 53 per cent felt they should be legally recognized.

The Justice Department planned to submit its brief later Thursday, the deadline for filing in the California case. The justices will hear oral arguments in the case on March 26.

The Proposition 8 ballot initiative was approved by California voters in 2008 in response to a state Supreme Court decision that had allowed gay marriage. Twenty-nine other states have constitutional amendments banning gay marriage; nine states and the Washington federal district recognize same-sex marriage.

In recent days, many states, organizations and individuals have filed briefs in the case.

Thirteen states, including four that do not now permit gay couples to wed, urged the court on Thursday to declare the ban unconstitutional. They said marriage enhances economic security and emotional well-being for the partners, and is better for children.

"All of these interests are furthered by ending the exclusion of same-sex couples from the institution," said the brief signed by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley.

It was joined by Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New York, Vermont, Washington, Delaware, Illinois, New Mexico, Oregon and the District of Columbia.

More than 100 prominent Republicans have signed a friend-of-the-court brief in support of gay marriage. Among them are former presidential candidate Jon Huntsman and Florida Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

One day after the Supreme Court hears the Proposition 8 case, the justices will hear arguments on another gay marriage case, this one involving provisions of the federal Defence of Marriage Act.

That act defines marriage as between a man and a woman for the purpose of deciding who can receive a range of federal benefits.

The administration abandoned its defence of the act in 2011, but the measure will continue to be federal law unless it is struck down or repealed.

In a brief filed last week, the government said Section 3 of the act "violates the fundamental constitutional guarantee of equal protection" because it denies legally married same-sex couples many federal benefits that are available only to legally married heterosexual couples.

Harlem Shake Brings Spirit of Antichrist to America’s Christian Churches

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” 2 Thessalonians 2:3,4

The Great Falling Away

The scriptures say that in the end times, in the last days, there will be a great ‘falling away’ of believers from bedrock bible doctrine. The above quote from 2 Thessalonians clearly shows that as does this quote from Paul to Timothy:

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3,4

The Spirit of Antichrist on full display at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Florida

In the end, it is the Christians who no longer have a desire or hunger to be fed from the word of God, but instead choose to side with the devil and make a mockery of the church that Jesus Christ shed His own blood for. Nothing shows that as clearly as our story on the Harlem Shake in the Church of God.

The Harlem Shake is demonic

From The Examiner: Have you heard of the “Harlem Shake?” The dance has gone viral on the Internet, and Christians are doing it in several sectors, according to BCNN1, Feb. 21.

The dance starts with the leader wearing a mask shaking in front of the people, and then they all join in for 30 seconds.

The words to the song are: “Con los terrorista” (With The Terrorists).

There are several groups and organizations doing the “Harlem Shake:”

  • Saddleback High School Ministry
  • Liberty University
  • Destiny World Outreach Center
  • Vineyards Student Harlem Shake
  • City Church Downtown
  • Celebration Church Jacksonville Fl

If you belong to or attend a Christian church that encourages demon-inspired ‘dancing’ to the Harlem Shake, you are in church with the Devil Himself. The Holy God of Israel is a million miles away from all of that foolishness. The ‘shake’ is performed with a masked man inciting a crowd to gyrate their bodies by unseen forces to jungle-themed music. Bright lights flash, artificial smoke is set off and an hypnotic, ever-lowering bass beat causes the dancers to bang their heads. Are you so seared in your spirit by the filth you have surrounded yourself with that you can no longer recognize the Devil when he is laughing in your face??

If you think that this is the work of the Holy Spirit, then you do not know the Holy Spirit, neither are you led by Him. To see this in the Church of God is, to me, proof positive that the great falling away is operating on all eight cylinders. The Harlem Shake comes from drug-using, heavy-drinking, fornication-glorifying rappers whose garbage has NO PLACE in the Church of Jesus Christ.

Europe: How Dare Jews Build in Jerusalem!
Mar 1st, 2013
Daily News
Israel Today - Ryan Jones
Categories: Today's Headlines; The Nation Of Israel

The European Union has released a report that labels the very presence of Jews on the eastern side of Jerusalem as "provocative." According to the Europeans, the building of Jewish homes in these areas is the single greatest threat to peace in the region.

Titled "Jerusalem Report 2012," the survey asserts that the construction of homes for Jews on the eastern side of Jerusalem is a "systematic, deliberate and provocative" effort to make it "impossible for Jerusalem to become the capital of two states."

It should be noted that the report is not referring to small, isolated settlements, but rather to large Jewish neighborhoods like French Hill, Pisgat Zeev and Gilo (for those familiar with the city).

For Israelis, the whole thing is just absurd. That the return of an ancient people to the areas that made up their ancient heartland should pose a threat to peace simply doesn't make sense. Not to mention the fact that Jews have continuously lived in these areas, and especially in Jerusalem, non-stop for some 3,000 years. What the world doesn't like is that the Jews now exercise control in this Land.

As Alan Baker, an Israeli expert in international law, told Israel Today, the Jews are an indigenous people in this land. If the international community cannot accept this fact, then there is no basis for even starting peace talks.

Bennett Vindicated As Coalition Crafting Enters Overtime
Mar 1st, 2013
Daily News
INN - Gil Ronen
Categories: Today's Headlines; The Nation Of Israel

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will meet President Shimon Peres Saturday evening and ask him for a two-week extension in which to put together a coalition of parties and form a new government.

Peres will grant Netanyahu the two-week extension.

If Netanyahu fails to cobble together a coalition within a fortnight, however, he will be in serious trouble. Peres could decide to task someone else with creating a coalition, or new elections could be called.

We are, therefore, entering the "money time" of coalition crafting.

The reports in two major news sources Friday that Netanyahu's representatives offered Yesh Atid a policy of destroying Jewish communities in return for their entry into the coalition without Bayit Yehudi, vindicate Bayit Yehudi's decision to enter into a tactical alliance with Yesh Atid. Together with reports that Likud made contradictory overtures to Bayit Yehudi, they portray Netanyahu in an unflattering light and are no cause for pride, for supporters of Likud / Yisrael Beytenu.

Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett wrote on his Facebook page Friday: "While the Likud was explaining to us how important it is to abandon the connection with Lapid in order to strengthen the settlement enterprise, it was explaining to Lapid how important it is to abandon Bayit Yehudi in order to tear down the settlement enterprise."

If readers sense some bitterness and disappointment between the lines, their senses are probably not misleading them.

Likud's offers to Yesh Atid, if they indeed were made, vindicate Bennett's tactical move, to enter into a gentlemen's agreement with Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid. The two promised each other not to enter the coalition without each other.

Yesh Atid is a center-left, largely secularist party, which placed the matter of hareidi men's enlistment to the military as a central plank in its agenda. The party contains a strong ultra-leftist contingent, but its leader, Lapid, is less of an ideologue and more mainstream than his more radical MKs.

The hareidi enlistment issue is a favorite wedge issue of the Israeli left wing, because it splits the nationalist camp between hareidim and non-hareidim. The issue has, for decades, been seen as largely unsolvable, and governments have preferred to manage it rather than confront it head-on.

What Naftali Bennett did was to make Lapid an offer he couldn't refuse. He would enable him to square the circle and force a true change as regards hareidi enlistment. For this, Bennett would be willing to weather the storm of accusations that he was "selling out" his hareidi brethren and joining a secularist to do so.

In return, what Bennett has apparently received is a guarantee that the next coalition will not only include Bayit Yehudi but will also have to respect Bayit Yehudi's core principles, especially regarding the political and strategic issues that surround the settlement enterprise in Judea and Samaria.

Bennett has been warning for months that Netanyahu is planning a leftist, defeatist government, based upon a coalition with hareidim and leftist parties, including Yesh Atid. Likud's reported overtures to Yesh Atid confirm that he was right. What Bennett appears to have achieved through his pact with Lapid is a realignment of Israeli politics: essentially, the center will stop leaning to the left on Judea and Samaria, while the religious Zionists side with the secular Zionists on key issues regarding the power and privileges of the non-Zionist hareidi stream.

If the Bennett-Lapid pact holds up, this revolution will come close to turning into reality in a fortnight's time.

There is much gnashing of teeth on both sides of the political spectrum, meanwhile. Many in hareidi circles are understandably aghast at the developments. Some nationalists see Lapid as a sell-out just by virtue of the fact that he is letting Yesh Atid into the coalition. They do not trust Lapid and think he will bolt the coalition at the first opportunity, leaving the nationalist bloc splintered, perhaps permanently.

On the left-wing, too, there is much apprehension. Channel 2's Rina Matzliach, whose leftist views are no secret, has incongruously become a great fan of the hareidi-Zionist Tekuma stream within Bayit Yehudi in the last week. She apparently hopes that MK Uri Ariel and other Tekuma MKs will split off from Bennett and prevent the Yesh Atid – Bayit Yehudi plan from being implemented. At this point, however, the pact between Bennett and Lapid appears strong.

Bayit Yehudi: Likud Wants Livni - Abbas Coalition
Mar 1st, 2013
Daily News
INN - Gil Ronen
Categories: Today's Headlines; The Nation Of Israel

There is anger and a feeling of vindication Friday in the Bayit Yehudi party, following reports in at least two major news sources that Likud / Yisrael Beytenu has promised Yesh Atid to tear down Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria if it joins a coalition without Bayit Yehudi.

The religious Zionist party will demand clarifications on the matter in the negotiation session with Likud scheduled for Friday morning.

MK Orit Strook said Friday, "It is very sad that Likud continues to make every effort to establish the Livni-Abu Mazen government instead of establishing the social government for the people of Israel, in line with the way the public voted.".

MK Rabbi Eliyahu Ben Dahan (Bayit Yehudi) reacted to the reports Friday and said, "It turns out that instead of advancing the signing of a coalition agreement, Likud prefers to advance a leftist-hareidi government with an emphasis on future eviction of communities, and is turning down Bayit Yehudi's requests to change the agreement with Livni."

Rabbi Ben Dahan was referring to the agreements between Likud and its pick for Justice Minister, Tzipi Livni, regarding her authority in matters relating to future peace negotiations and other politically sensitive issues.

"The understandings vis-à-vis Yesh Atid prevent the establishment of such a government," the rabbi added.

"We are interested in being in the coalition, and therefore, at this morning's meeting [with Likud negotiators] at Kfar Hamaccabiah, we will demand to know what the government's basic platform is: going down Livni's path or confronting the social issues that disturb the Israeli people."
