World Awaits Iran Nuclear Answer

The deal would see Iran exporting its uranium for enrichment

Iran is due to respond to a UN proposal on exporting most of its enriched uranium to Russia for further refining.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) draft agreement is aimed at reducing international concern over Tehran's nuclear programme.

Under the deal, Iran would get the fuel it needs for its reactor but would not have enough uranium to make a bomb.

The plan followed talks between the UN, Iran, France, Russia and the US - all except Iran have approved the draft.

Russia was the first country to confirm its support.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia expected "that not only Iran but the rest of the participants - the countries on whom the realisation of this scheme depends - will confirm their agreement".

French foreign ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said the agreement "suits France" and that Paris had "made this known in an official manner", the AFP news agency reported.

The US National Security Council (NSC) said it had also "delivered its positive response" to the IAEA.

"We look forward to Iran's reply," AFP quoted NSC spokesman Mick Hammer as saying.

Iran has yet to respond and BBC's Bethany Bell, in Vienna, says it remains unclear whether Tehran will be willing to send so much of its nuclear fuel abroad.

Iranian state media quoted an Iranian nuclear negotiator as saying Tehran was "awaiting a positive and constructive response" from the parties.

The unnamed spokesman said the parties were "expected to avoid past mistakes in violating agreements and to gain Iran's trust".

White House Urges Mid - East Push

The US has urged Israel and the Palestinians to press forward to re-launch deadlocked peace talks.

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is reported to have presented a downbeat report on US diplomacy in the region to US President Barack Obama.

Her comments come after a series of meetings between Middle East envoy George Mitchell and negotiators from both sides of the conflict.

Mr Mitchell is expected to travel back to the region soon, it was announced.

According to an anonymous official quoted by news agencies, Mrs Clinton is reported to have told the US president that "challenges remain" in US efforts to broker peace.

'Sense of urgency'

Speaking after the meeting, the official said the White House felt that "both sides need to move forward towards direct negotiations".

But in a speech on Thursday, Mr Mitchell said it was too soon to pronounce the administration's efforts in the Middle East a failure.

He said the president had "a sense of urgency, a sense of involvement and commitment" and said no other US administration had started working on the issue so early in their term.

The 76-year-old envoy, who will travel with Mrs Clinton to Morocco to consult Arab foreign ministers on the stalled peace process in early November, said he refused to be discouraged.

"We are determined to stay the course [...] until the job is done," he said.

Following the meeting, the White House said it recognised the efforts of the Palestinians in reforming institutions and improving security but said: "they need to do more in these areas and on stopping incitement and preventing terror".

The official also added that Israel, while having facilitated greater movement for Palestinians, needed to do more to improve their daily lives.

The Palestinians have said they will not take part in new peace talks unless Israel halts construction on occupied land in the West Bank.

But Israeli's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rebuffed US demands for a total freeze on such building work.

Despite Mr Obama's attempts to make moving towards peace in the Middle East the centrepiece of his foreign policy, his administration has struggled to make progress on the issue.

Unprecedented Idf Mutiny At Kotel

 Unprecedented IDF Kotel Mutiny
An unprecedented mutiny took place at the swearing-in ceremony of Shimshon Battalion soldiers at the Kotel Thursday evening. Immediately after being sworn in, some of the soldiers raised large signs which said “Shimshon Battalion does not carry out evictions at Homesh.”

Parents of soldiers also raised similar signs at the same moment.

The anger and frustration within the ranks of the Shimshon soldiers and their families reached a boiling point after the battalion carried out numerous evictions at Homesh – a Shomron (Samaria) community that was razed in the “Disengagement”.

Just as the Kfir Regiment Commander began his speech at the ceremony, soldiers from the battalion and raised two large signs against the evictions. Similar signs were raised by the soldiers' relatives in the audience.   The “Disengagement” carried out in 2005 by the government of now-comatose Ariel Sharon included the destruction of all Jewish communities in Gaza. It was carried out in the hope of bringing about peace with the Arabs. However, no peace  has materialized, and Jewish activists have been persistent in their attempts to return to Homesh. The military, on its side, has been evicting these Jews from the ruins time and time again – sometimes in a violent manner, and often on the Jewish Sabbath.

IDF officials warned Friday that the soldiers could face expulsion from Shimshon for their actions. "This was a shameful and anomalous breach of IDF discipline," a spokesman said. "Kfir Regiment Commander Colonel Oren Abman will consider terminating their service in the regiment."

Toronto Imam Preaching 'hate Instead of Harmony'
Oct 23rd, 2009
Daily News
National Post - Charles Lewis (excerpts)
Categories: Today's Headlines;Warning

A Toronto-area imam is under fire for using derogatory language against Jews and Christians, calling for Allah to “destroy” the enemies of Islam from within and calling on God to “damn” the “infidels.”

The address, given last Friday by Imam Saed Rageah at the Abu Huraira Centre and then posted on YouTube  , is an attack on those who have been calling for a ban on the niqab and burka, both of which cover the faces of women.

“Allah protect us from the fitna [sedition] of these people; Allah protect us from the evil agenda of these people; Allah destroy them from within themselves, and do not allow them to raise their heads in destroying Islam.”

Tarek Fatah, a Canadian Muslim author and commentator, said that type of language could be interpreted as a call to violence. As well, the imam asks Allah to “damn” Christians and Jews.

“The cleric’s ritual prayer asking for the defeat of Christians and Jews and the victory of Islam is not unique,” Mr. Fatah said. “It is uttered by many clerics across Canada spreading hate instead of harmony.  There should be no room in Canada’s mosques for such hatred, especially when most of these institutions get [tax-free status].”

The Abu Huraira Centre attracts about 800 to 1,000 people to a typical Friday service. A man who worked at the centre said that many women who attend only wear the hijab, which covers the head, and do not wear any covering on their faces.

The National Post repeatedly attempted to reach Mr. Rageah for an interview, but was unsuccessful.

Throughout the 35-minute speech he uses the word “kuffar” to describe non-Muslims.

In referring to those Muslims who would seek allies outside the Muslim community to bring about legislation that would ban face coverings, the imam said: “You will see a lot of them going to the kuffar, taking them as friends and allies. The wrath of Allah is upon them. If they were true believers they would never take them as allies.”

At its most benign, kuffar means “non-Muslims.” But others say the most common usage is considered highly offensive, akin to calling a black person a “n****r,” Mr. Fatah said.

“It goes back to the Arab use of the word against black slaves. It’s used in a very derisive manner.”

Top Uk Journalist Calls Goldstone 'half - Baked'

LONDON - A former Times newspaper editor and one of the UK's most respected journalists lashed out this week at South African jurist Richard Goldstone's decision to head the UN fact-finding mission on Operation Cast Lead.

In an article in The Guardian, Sir Harold Evans, former editor of the Sunday Times and Times, condemned the Goldstone Report, describing it as "half-baked" and designed to exonerate the real aggressor, Hamas.

In an article entitled "A moral atrocity," he said Goldstone had been "suckered" into letting war criminals use his name to pillory Israel.

Evans also said that as a Jew, Goldstone should have turned down the job of leading the delegation.

"[Goldstone] said that, as a Jew himself, he was surprised to be invited. He shouldn't have been, and should never have accepted leadership of a commission whose terms of reference were designed to excuse the aggressor, Hamas, and punish the defender, Israel," Evans said.

Criticising Britain's decision not to vote last Friday at the UN Human Rights Council, which endorsed the report, Evans said, "Now we have the sickening spectacle of Britain failing to stand by Israel, the only democracy with an independent judiciary in the entire region."

Evans condemned the language in the remit of the UN mission, which said it was "to investigate all violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law by the occupying power, Israel, against the Palestinian people throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly in the occupied Gaza Strip, due to the current aggression."

"Israel is not an 'occupying power' in Gaza, in either fact or international law," Evans wrote. "Four years ago, it voluntarily pulled out all its soldiers and uprooted all its settlers. Here was a wonderful chance for Gaza to be the building block of a Palestinian state, and for Hamas to do what the Israelis did - take a piece of land and build a model state. They didn't. Instead of helping the desperate Palestinians, they conducted a religious war."

Thousands of Israeli, American Soldiers Begin 'juniper Cobra'

 Israel-US Joint Exercise Begins
More than 2,000 officers and soldiers from the Israeli and American armies began a joint military exercise on Thursday morning. The drill, titled “Juniper Cobra,” is being conducted for the fifth time since 2001, and will focus on defensive measures against ground-to-ground missiles. Air, land, and sea forces from both the Israeli and United States militaries are taking part in the exercise.

IDF Brigadier-General Doron Gavish said the exercise would not include aggressive maneuvers. Gavish spoke at a joint press conference with U.S. Rear Admiral John Richardson.

Both Gavish and Richardson denied that the exercise was connected to recent international events, including concerns of a missile threat facing Europe and talks between Western powers and Iran over the latter country's nuclear program. The drill “is the fifth of its kind, and has been in the works for a year and a half. It is not in any way tied to current regional developments,” Gavish said.

While the exercise was not planned in response to recent threats, the lessons learned may be implemented in developing situations, Richardson said. "This exercise is not directly related to recent announcement about ballistic missile defense in Europe, but the lessons and the insights that we gain from this exercise will certainly relate to developing that capability,” he explained.

"Most importantly,” he said, “we will advance the trust and the confidence in the relationship between our two forces.”

Richardson: Israel Can Defend Itself

In response to a question from the press, Richardson said he is confident that Israel is capable of defending its citizens. Calling the IDF a “highly capable force,” Richardson expressed confidence that the Israeli military can handle whatever challenges it faces without outside help.

Sunstein Urges: Abolish Marriage
Oct 23rd, 2009
Daily News
WND - Aaron Klein

Adviser compares institution to country club membership

The U.S. government should abolish its sanctioning of marriage, argued Cass Sunstein, President Obama's regulatory czar.

Sunstein proposed that the concept of marriage should become privatized, with the state only granting civil union contracts to couples wishing to enter into an agreement.

Sunstein explained marriage licensing is unnecessary, pointing out people stay committed to organizations like country clubs and homeowner associations without any government interference.

"Under our proposal, the word marriage would no longer appear in any laws, and marriage licenses would no longer be offered or recognized by any level of government," wrote Sunstein and co-author Richard Thaler in their 2008 book, "Nudge: Improving decisions about health, wealth and happiness."

In the book – obtained and reviewed by WND – Sunstein explains his approach would ensure that "the only legal status states would confer on couples would be a civil union, which would be a domestic partnership agreement between any two people."

He proposed marriage not be recognized by the government. Marriages would instead be "strictly private matters, performed by religious and other private organizations," he wrote.

"Governments would not be asked to endorse any particular relationships by conferring on them the term marriage," added Sunstein.

Sunstein slammed current government recognition of marriage as "an official license scheme."

"When the state grants marriage it gives both maternal and symbolic benefits to the couples it recognizes. But why combine the two functions? And what is added by the term marriage?" he asked.

Sunstein explained terminating the issuance of state marriage contracts would not affect the commitments of those in the "partnership."

"People take their private commitments serious," Sunstein wrote. "Members of religious organizations, homeowners' associations, and country clubs all feel bound, sometimes quite strongly, by the structures and rules of such organizations."

Take organs from 'helpless patients'

Sunstein's proposal regarding marriage is hardly the only controversial section of his book. WND reported last week that in the same book, Sunstein defended the possibility of removing organs from terminally ill patients without their permission.

He also strongly pushed for the removal of organs from deceased individuals who did not explicitly consent to becoming organ donors.

Sunstein and Thaler discussed multiple legal scenarios regarding organ donation. One possibility presented in the book, termed by Sunstein as "routine removal," posits that "the state owns the rights to body parts of people who are dead or in certain hopeless conditions, and it can remove their organs without asking anyone's permission."

"Though it may sound grotesque, routine removal is not impossible to defend," wrote Sunstein. "In theory, it would save lives, and it would do so without intruding on anyone who has any prospect for life."

Sunstein continued: "Although this approach is not used comprehensively by any state, many states do use the rule for corneas (which can be transplanted to give some blind patients sight). In some states, medical examiners performing autopsies are permitted to remove corneas without asking anyone's permission."

Sunstein's example of medical examiners removing corneas, however, applies only to patients who are already declared deceased.

After defending the position, Sunstein conceded the "routine removal" approach "violates a generally accepted principle, which is that within broad limits, individuals should be able to decide what is to be done with and to their bodies."

Still, Sunstein did not add that the removal of organs from a living individual should be banned.

Also in the same book, CNSNews.com previously noted Sunstein argued for removing organs from deceased patients who are not registered as organ donors, a policy not without precedent. Spain and some European Union countries have been debating accepting a law of implied consent.

Writes Sunstein: "A policy that can pass libertarian muster by our standards is called presumed consent."

"Presumed consent preserves freedom of choice, but it is different from explicit consent because it shifts the default rule," he writes. "Under this policy, all citizens would be presumed to be consenting donors, but they would have the opportunity to register their unwillingness to donate, and they could do so easily. We want to underline the word easily, because the harder it is to register your unwillingness to participate, the less libertarian the policy becomes."

Sunstein continues: "Although presumed consent is an extremely effective way to increase the supply of organs available for transplant, it may not be an easy sell politically. Some will object to the idea of 'presuming' anything when it comes to such a sensitive matter. We are not sure that these objections are convincing, but this is surely a domain in which forced choosing, or what is referred to in this domain as mandated choice, has considerable appeal."

Sunstein advocates making it mandatory for all citizens to register either as an organ donor or as unwilling to donate their organs.

"Mandated choice could be implemented through a simple addition to the driver's license registration scheme used in many states. With mandated choice, renewal of your driver's license would be accompanied by a requirement that you check a box stating your organ donation preferences. Your application

would not be accepted unless you had checked one of the boxes. The options might include 'yes, willing to donate' and 'no, unwilling to donate.'"

Report: Israel, Iran Meet in Cairo

Did Israel, Iran Meet in Cairo?
Israeli and Iranian officials met in Cairo last month to discuss regional nuclear issues, according to international media reports based on statements from Israeli and Egyptian officials. Iranian officials later denied the reports. Israeli officials declined to discuss the alleged talks on Thursday.

The talks allegedly took place in late September, during a Middle East disarmament conference. The conference was attended by both Iranian delegate Ali Asghar Soltanieh and Israel Atomic Energy Commission director Meirav Zafary-Odiz; the two reportedly held a dialogue while there.

The conference was also attended by delegates from around the Middle East, as well as European and United States officials.

Iranian Official Rejects Western Offer

The Deputy Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammed Reza Bahonar, announced Thursday that Iran has rejected a Western offer under which Russia would enrich uranium on Iran's behalf in exchange for the placement of limits on Iran's nuclear program. Bahonar's statements were reported in Iranian media.

The offer, made during a recent international summit in Vienna, is aimed at preventing Iran from building a nuclear weapon while allowing the use of uranium for civilian purposes.

It was not clear if Bahonar's statements in fact reflected the position of the Iranian government. Iranian leaders have not yet issued a response to the offer.

Israel Concerned, Silent

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu gathered his top seven cabinet ministers this week to discuss the offer extended to Iran. Israeli leaders are reportedly concerned that the offer would merely delay the development of Iran's nuclear capabilities, but would not prevent the Islamic Republic from creating nuclear weapons at a later stage.

However, Israeli officials have chosen not to respond in public to reports surrounding Iran's talks with the United States and Europe.Major-General Aharon Zeevi-Farkash, the former Director of Military Intelligence, said Thursday that he sees the latest contacts between Iran and the West as “a good sign.” However, he said, “We still need to be careful. I do not want to say at this stage that the threat has passed.”

Israel Plans Major Excavation At Western Wall

Major Dig Planned at Kotel Israel is planning a major archaeological dig under the Western Wall (Kotel) plaza, opposite the Temple Mount, officials announced Thursday. The excavations will create an archaeological park directly underneath the area where worshippers currently stand while praying at the Kotel.

The current prayer area will remain open, supported by pillars, while a new area will be added underneath, at the level at which worshippers at the ancient Temple stood in the past.

The dig may be met with harsh reactions from Muslim and Arab leaders in Israel and the Palestinian Authority, many of whom have accused Israel of attempting to damage the Al-Aksa Mosque on the Temple Mount. Jerusalem-area Muslims recently rioted for several days after it was rumored that “Jewish settlers” had planned to pray on the Temple Mount.

The Government Press Office gave foreign journalists a tour of Kotel-area excavations this week. The tour, ostensibly an apolitical opportunity to view new historic findings, appeared to be aimed at countering Muslim criticism of Israeli excavations as well.

A reference to Salah

Kotel Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch met with the journalists and criticized religious leaders who use the Kotel excavations as an excuse for violence. When asked, the rabbi said that he was referring to Sheikh Raed Salah, among others. Sheikh Salah, leader of the extremist Islamic Movement, has been involved in many of the anti-Israel riots centered around the Temple Mount.

Rabbi Rabinovitch informed the reporters that Jewish law forbids digs directly underneath the Temple Mount, where the Al-Aksa mosque is located. Digs take place around the mount, not beneath it, he said.

The journalists also met with engineers and others involved in the archaeological digs, who assured them that despite accusations to the contrary, Israel's excavations do not cause harm to structures in the area. In fact, they explained, the excavations have improved structural stability in the Temple Mount area, as they led to discovery and strengthening of areas in which there was a danger of collapse.

The families living in Mitzpeh Avichai, near the city of Kiryat Arba in the Hevron region, managed to rebuild a number of homes on Thursday within a few hours of their total destruction. The homes were demolished the night before.

The story began at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, when security forces arrived unannounced in the outpost and proceeded to demolish three houses. Residents of Mitzpeh Avichai accused police of destroying the buildings without official authorization to do so.

One family, a couple with two children, was given only five minutes to leave their home, residents reported. The family was removed from the building by force and their belongings thrown on the ground outside, then the building was demolished.

Land of Israel activists published a notice Thursday accusing new Judea and Samaria commander Avi Mizrachi of “continuing with the destructive policies set forth by his predecessor, Gadi Shamni.” Outposts that are destroyed will be rebuilt, they announced, in accordance with the biblical verse “But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and the more they spread abroad” (Exodus 1:12).

The process of demolition and reconstruction was documented by residents of the Hevron region, and the pictures were placed on the Eretz Yisrael – Mamshichim U'b'gaon (“Land of Israel – Continuing with Pride”) website.

Opponents worry over special 'hate crimes' treatment for homosexuals

A "hate crimes" plan that opponents have warned will be used to crack down on Christian speech, even the reading of the Bible, is poised to be signed by President Obama, a longtime proponent of the plan to give homosexuals and those with other alternative lifestyles special protections not provided other classes of citizens.

The Senate approved the "hate crimes" plan 68-29 today after Democrats strategically attached it to a "must-pass" $680 billion defense appropriations plan.

Most Republicans, although normally strong supporters of the U.S. military, opposed the plan.

"The inclusion of the controversial language of the hate crimes legislation, which is unrelated to our national defense, is deeply troubling," Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., told Fox News after the vote.

The plan also hands out federal money to states and local governments in pursuit of "preventing" hate crimes.

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said the move is a step toward thought crimes and suggested the bill will be a warning against those to speak out about their religious faith.

Obama was strongly supported during his 2008 presidential campaign by homosexual advocates, and has expressed a willingness to act on the proposal, calling it an "important civil rights issue."

WND reported days ago when several organizations urged their members to contact members of Congress to oppose the plan.

The plan – which creates federal protections and privileges for homosexuals and other alternative lifestyles but denies those protections to other groups of citizens – earlier was approved in the U.S. House.

When the Senate earlier approved a key move, Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, said, "In … months President Obama and the Democratic-led Congress have forced on the American people the most radical and immoral agenda.

"The administration and the Democratic-led Congress are out of touch with the mainstream. They represent the most fringe extreme elements of America. They will not be able to continue their efforts to undermine moral values, socialize the economy and trash American pride and heritage.

"The people will not remain silent forever," he said.

"In its never-ending quest to shred America's Judeo-Christian value system, the left is planning to hurriedly push through a 'thought crimes' bill," the alert said. "So-called 'hate crimes' laws are really laws that criminalize thought, because they punish an individual not for what he did but for what he thought. Politically incorrect thoughts about homosexual behavior will result in enhanced criminal sanctions under this law."

The AFA said, "Everywhere hate crimes laws have gone into effect, they have been quickly used to intimidate, silence and punish people of faith who express deeply held religious objections to the normalization of homosexuality.

"Such laws not only punish officially disapproved speech and thought, they create two tiers of victims. Under hate crimes laws, some victims get more protections than others, which violates the fundamental American principle of equality under the law," the alert said. "In fact, such laws actively discriminate against heterosexual Christians who are victims of crime, since they will get less legal protection than homosexual victims."

The American Family Association said since "sexual orientation" nowhere is defined in the law, "this law will give pedophiles, voyeurs, and exhibitionists special protections, which is why the bill has correctly been called 'The Pedophile Protection Act.'"

Klingenschmitt said there is a remote chance Obama may not like the proposal, since it is linked to funding for an engine for the F-35 fighter jet, which he has opposed.

"If President Obama vetoes the F-35 second engine, as he promised when speaking in Phoenix last spring, he will ironically kill the homosexual agenda and their evil 'Pedophile Protection Act,'" he wrote.

Attempts by Republicans to add amendments stating "pedophilia is not protected as a sexual orientation" were  blocked by House Democrats.

Catholic League: Why Does Obama Like 'christian Basher'

'Remember … Jennings was chosen to instruct youth on moral matters'

The president of the Catholic League is questioning why President Obama would select Kevin Jennings, known as a "Christian basher" in addition to his homosexual activism, to instruct public school children on "moral matters."

WND has reported multiple times on the background of Jennings, who founded the "Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network," which promotes homosexuality in public schools across the nation.

The most recent report concerned Jennings' support for the Harvard exhibition

: "Act Up New York: Activism, Art, and the AIDS Crisis, 1987-1993," which credits him and others, including Fred P. Hockberg and Tom Healy, Open Gate and the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, for "gifts and grants" used for the project.

The display included dozens of "politically charged posters, stickers, and other visual media that emerged during a pivotal moment of AIDS activism in New York City," according to a website promoting the effort.

Among the organizations displaying their work was "Fierce Pussy," which featured a poster of a toddler labeled "Dyke."

"Pairing text and image with penetrating anger and searing wit, ACT UP's art collectives targeted specific individuals and institutions at the local and national level, advocated for safer sex and gay and lesbian rights, and galvanized broadband support for the AIDS activism movement," the promotion stated.

The group also was being featured as four "central members" participate in a three-day activism and print media workshop, the announcement said.

"The exhibit includes horrible anti-Catholic bigotry, child pornography, and various descriptions and depictions of sexual perversion. It also includes posters accusing various public officials of murder during the AIDS crisis of the 1980s and 1990s and a call to terrorize offices of the National Institute of Health," wrote Mass Resistance, which had members at the opening of the exhibit.

Now in a statement, Catholic League president Bill Donohue is asking about the links between Obama and Jennings, who was named the director of the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools in the Department of Education under Obama.

"On September 23, I wrote a news release on the curious moral credentials of Kevin Jennings to be President Obama's Safe Schools Czar: a former drug user and irresponsible teen counselor, he is also a Christian basher," Donohue said.

"What was not known at the time is that he is also a proud member of ACT UP, the homosexual urban terrorist group that broke into St. Patrick's Cathedral (in New York City) in 1989 and disrupted Mass; the Eucharist was desecrated and obscene depictions of Cardinal O'Connor were posted," he continued.

"Now a group called MassResistance, and the website WorldNetDaily, have exposed Jennings as a member of ACT UP. And he is no mere member: Jennings is listed as a donor to a sick display, 'ACT UP New York: Activism, Art, and the AIDS Crisis, 1987-1993,' currently featured at the Harvard Art Museum. Harvard, of course, would never feature a display of Klan paraphernalia and say it was being done for the purpose of 'dialogue,'" he said.

"The real story here is not the corruption of Harvard – that's old hat – the real story is the president of the United States choosing a morally challenged anti-Catholic homosexual to join his team. That Jennings belongs to, and sponsors, an urban terrorist organization, should alone disqualify him from public service at a municipal level. And remember, Obama did not choose him to monitor global cooling – he was chosen to instruct youth on moral matters," Donohue said.

A group of religious Jews have built the temple in Jerusalem
Oct 23rd, 2009
News Update
Jimmy DeYoung
Categories: Jimmy DeYoung News

I must confess the headline for this report is a bit misleading however, I am partially correct. I should have said that a group of religious Jews have built the worlds largest model of the holy temple and it is only a few hundred yards away from the Temple Mount, the site where the Jewish temple existed until 70 AD. The model was built with extensive consultation with the experts and offers a view of the Holy of Holies plus the furniture of the temple including the Ark of the Covenant. And, it was built to help Jews connect with their heritage and to create a desire among the Jews for the rebuilding of their temple in Jerusalem.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The building of the world's largest model of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem is evidence that we are moving closer to the time when the real temple will be built in Jerusalem according to Bible prophecy.

A yeshiva (a school for Jewish young men to study about the temple) located in Jerusalem has built the world's largest model for the purpose of helping Jews to connect to their heritage but also at the same time, to help non-Jews with the awareness of the rich and broad Jewish history that they have in this holy place.

Bible prophecy does speak of a temple standing in Jerusalem in the last days. 2500 years ago, the ancient Jewish prophet Zechariah wrote that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would come back to Earth and build His temple for the kingdom period (Zechariah 6:12). However, the Messiah's temple will only be built after Jesus comes back to the Earth. There will be a temple that the Jews will build in Jerusalem during the Tribulation period, that seven years leading up to the Lord's return. Bible prophecy for that temple is found in Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, II Thessalonians 2:4, and Revelation 11:1.

All the preparations have been made for the next temple, the Tribulation temple. They have 28,000 trained priests. They have the implements to operate the temple and the high priest has been chosen. We are at the point in time when the next temple can be built. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
