White House Escalates War on Fox News

Senior Obama administration officials took to the airwaves Sunday to accuse Fox News of pushing a particular point of view and not being a real news network.

The White House escalated its offensive against Fox News on Sunday by urging other news organizations to stop "following Fox" and instead join the administration's attempt to marginalize the channel.

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel told CNN that President Obama does not want "the CNNs and the others in the world [to] basically be led in following Fox."

Obama senior adviser David Axelrod went further by calling on media outlets to join the administration in declaring that Fox is "not a news organization."

"Other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way," Axelrod counseled ABC's George Stephanopoulos. "We're not going to treat them that way."

By urging other news outlets to side with the administration, Obama aides officials dramatically upped the ante in the war of words that began earlier this month, when White House communications director Anita Dunn branded Fox "opinion journalism masquerading as news."

On Sunday, Fox's Chris Wallace retorted: "We wanted to ask Dunn about her criticism, but, as they've done every week since August, the White House refused to make any administration officials available to 'FOX News Sunday' to talk about this or anything else."

The White House stopped providing guests to 'Fox News Sunday' after Wallace fact-checked controversial assertions made by Tammy Duckworth, assistant secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, in August. Dunn said fact-checking an administration official was "something I've never seen a Sunday show do."

"She criticized 'FOX News Sunday' last week for fact-checking -- fact-checking -- an administration official," Wallace said Sunday. "They didn't say that our fact-checking was wrong. They just said that we had dared to fact-check."

"Let's fact-check Anita Dunn, because last Sunday she said that Fox ignores Republican scandals, and she specifically mentioned the scandal involving Nevada senator John Ensign," Wallace added. "A number of Fox News shows have run stories about Senator Ensign. Anita Dunn's facts were just plain wrong."

Fox News senior vice president Michael Clemente said: "Surprisingly, the White House continues to declare war on a news organization instead of focusing on the critical issues that Americans are concerned about like jobs, health care and two wars. The door remains open and we welcome a discussion about the facts behind the issues."

Observers on both sides of the political aisle questioned the White House's decision to continue waging war on a news organization, saying the move carried significant political risks.

Democratic strategist Donna Brazile said on CNN: "I don't always agree with the White House. And on this one here I would disagree."

David Gergen, who has worked for Democratic and Republican presidents, said: "I totally agree with Donna Brazile." Gergen added that White House officials have "gotten themselves into a fight they don't necessarily want to be in. I don't think it's in their best interest."

"The faster they can get this behind them, the more they can treat Fox like one other organization, the easier they can get back to governing, and then put some people out on Fox," Gergen said on CNN. "I mean, for goodness sakes -- you know, you engage in the debate.

What Americans want is a robust competition of ideas, and they ought to be willing to go out there and mix it up with some strong conservatives on Fox, just as there are strong conservatives on CNN like Bill Bennett."

Bennett expressed outrage that Dunn told an audience of high school students this year that Mao Tse-tung, the founder of communist China, was one of "my favorite political philosophers."

"Having the spokesman do this, attack Fox, who says that Mao Zedong is one of the most influential figures in her life, was not…a small thing; it's a big thing," Bennett said on CNN. "When she stands up, in a speech to high school kids, says she's deeply influenced by Mao Zedong, that -- I mean, that is crazy."

Fox News contributor Karl Rove, who was the top political strategist to former President George W. Bush, said: "This is an administration that's getting very arrogant and slippery in its dealings with people. And if you dare to oppose them, they're going to come hard at you and they're going to cut your legs off."

"This is a White House engaging in its own version of the media enemies list. And it's unhelpful for the country and undignified for the president of the United States to so do," Rove added. "That is over- the-top language. We heard that before from Richard Nixon."

Media columnist David Carr of the New York Times warned that the White House war on Fox "may present a genuine problem for Mr. Obama, who took great pains during the campaign to depict himself as being above the fray of over-heated partisan squabbling."

"While there is undoubtedly a visceral thrill in finally setting out after your antagonists, the history of administrations that have successfully taken on the media and won is shorter than this sentence," Carr wrote over the weekend. "So far, the only winner in this latest dispute seems to be Fox News. Ratings are up 20 percent this year."

He added: "The administration, by deploying official resources against a troublesome media organization, seems to have brought a knife to a gunfight."

White House Boasts: We 'control' News Media

Communications chief offers shocking confession to foreign government

TEL AVIV – President Obama's presidential campaign focused on "making" the news media cover certain issues while rarely communicating anything to the press unless it was "controlled," White House Communications Director Anita Dunn disclosed to the Dominican government at a videotaped conference

.

"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn.

"One of the reasons we did so many of the David Plouffe videos was not just for our supporters, but also because it was a way for us to get our message out without having to actually talk to reporters," said Dunn, referring to Plouffe, who was Obama's chief campaign manager.

"We just put that out there and made them write what Plouffe had said as opposed to Plouffe doing an interview with a reporter. So it was very much we controlled it as opposed to the press controlled it," Dunn said.

Continued Dunn: "Whether it was a David Plouffe video or an Obama speech, a huge part of our press strategy was focused on making the media cover what Obama was actually saying as opposed to why the campaign was saying it, what the tactic was. … Making the press cover what we were saying."

Dunn was speaking at a Jan. 12, 2009, event focusing on Obama's media tactics and hosted by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, which seeks to promote collaboration between the U.S. and the Dominican Republic. The event was held in Santo Domingo and was attended by the country's president.

Dunn has been facing some criticism since she led a White House campaign last week against Fox News, slamming the top-rated network as an "arm of the Republican Party" and "opinion journalism masquerading as news."

Fox hit back this past Friday, releasing a video of Dunn speaking to high school students last June in which she lists her two "favorite political philosophers," including Communist Chinese leader Mao Tse-tung, whose draconian policies are blamed for the deaths of tens of millions of people.

"And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:  And that no man might buy or sell, save he had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name,"

We now see the great world wide kingdom of Antichrist, a kingdom in which the entire world is enslaved. This is Satan's hour and as always Satan enslaves men and women. Satan enslaves, Christ sets men free. Sin always enslaves, it promises freedom but always brings bondage. This ultimate expression of Satan's kingdom is the ultimate bondage.

"To receive a mark", today a micro chip, which is smaller than a grain of rice, is being prepared so that it can be inserted under the skin. Such a chip could contain all of the information that might be required by a world dictator to control the population of the whole world. A microchip and a supercomputor is all that is needed along with a group who are committed to world government.

It is astounding how that the prophetic scriptures have foretold of a coming worldwide totalitarian dictatorship. Today we see such an entity forming before our very eyes. We have had a climate change conference in which a document was presented that in the name of climate change will bind the nations of the world to a world government. Climate change is all about world government.

The US election inspite of its flawed candidates is about nationalism verses globalism or world government.

Signs of a coming world government are everywhere, we stand on the brink of the laying of the infrastructure for the Kingdom of Antichrist.

Those who are willing to worship the beast will enjoy the temporary escape from death, but the receiving of his mark will assign them to the lake of fire forever. Those who refuse to take the mark will be immediately put to death or slowly starved to death, but they will enter into eternal glory.

Religion is always a part of Satan's program, he doesn't believe in separation of church and state. Since the hour he fell from grace his goal has been to bring the whole world to worship him. Remember this system of control over all commerce is worldwide, the whole world will be brought under this system, "that no man might buy or sell, save he had the mark"

It is a fact that this technology is now ready and being prepared to be introduced. Remember this will not happen until the mid-tribulation point so there is time to have it fully in place.

As we see the stage being set for these events to unfold we realize that the rapture of the church is very, very near. What are you living for? If you are a believer will you be ashamed when the trumpet sounds? If you are not saved the time is very, very short!  Don't delay! Come to Christ now in repentance and faith.

Netanyahu: Israel and U.S. Have Resolved Settlements Row
Oct 19th, 2009

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero last Thursday that talks between Israel and the United States over construction in the settlements on the West Bank had ended.

"We solved the matter of the settlements with the Americans," Netanyahu told his Spanish counterpart.

"I cannot say more than that. If you are interested in hearing more details, ask in Washington," added Netanyahu.

It is not clear what Netanyahu meant and what the details of the "solution" are, but this is the first time that Netanyahu has said that the issue of the settlements, which is the main bone of contention between the Obama administration and Israel, has been solved.

Sources in Jerusalem said that Netanyahu spoke about the matter after his representatives Mike Herzog and Yitzhak Molcho reached agreements in Washington during their talks last week.

Zapatero told Netanyahu of his visit to the White House two days before his arrival in Jerusalem. He said he was obsessed with Obama, and that there will never be another chance where a man who professes values such as his will be president, and everyone must help him realize his vision.

Netanyahu responded to Zapatero, saying he was willing to start talks with the Palestinians without any pre-conditions.

"The Palestinians should talk to us already," Netanyahu said.

Spain will assume the EU presidency on January 1.

Molcho and Herzog returned last weekend after meeting with U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell and his staff. The central point of the discussions was the conditions for opening negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, as well as the how the talks will be conducted, their goals and schedule for reaching an agreement.

Molcho and Herzog are expected to fly back to Washington this week for another round of talks. A Palestinian delegation headed by Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat will also be there at the same time.

Mitchell and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will write their report to Obama after this round of talks has ended. Obama asked the two to report on the chances of the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, and Obama is expected to receive the report next week. After reading the report and consulting his staff, Obama is expected to make a speech announcing his next steps to advance the negotiations.

Jordan's King Abdullah warns Israel about disastrous repercussions if it crosses a red line on Jerusalem

The Monarch of Jordan, King Abdullah, has urged the international community to act firmly against any Israeli action aimed at changing the identity of what the king called the holy city as he referred to the city of Jerusalem which he said is holy to both Moslems, Jews, and Christians. Abdullah said that Jerusalem is a red line and any manipulation of this city would have disastrous repercussions on the security and stability of the Middle East region since the status of Jerusalem is one of the most sensitive issues in the decades old Middle East conflict.

The Jordanian King stated that Israel captured Jerusalem in the Six Day War of 1967 and reunited the city and now considers the entire city to be its eternal indivisible capital.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

Jordan's King Abdullah, in a recent warning to Israel, said that if the Jews crossed a red line on Jerusalem, it could cause disastrous repercussions which is actually a page out of Bible prophecy.

For 19 years, from 1948 to 1967, the Jordanians controlled the Old City of Jerusalem which is the location of the Temple Mount, a very controversial peace of real estate. With the reunification of the city of Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War, the Jews took control of the Old City and thus the Temple Mount. King Abdullah's warning to the Jews about changing the status quo of Judaism's most sacred site sets the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.

2500 years ago, Zechariah wrote that Jerusalem would be the center of controversy and a heavy burden to those associated with it (Zechariah 12:2-3). The ancient Jewish prophet had much to say about Jerusalem for the last days including the return of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, to build His temple on the Temple Mount, the location where He would rule and reign over a worldwide kingdom (Zechariah 1:16;6:12-13).

The warnings from King Abdullah about Jerusalem are indeed a page out of Bible prophecy for the end times - prophecy that will be fulfilled.

Encouraging Jewish Ties to Temple Mount

A large-scale gathering will take place in central Jerusalem next week featuring rabbis and public figures calling on the Jewish public to visit the Temple Mount “in purity.”

The event will be held on Sunday, the 7th of Cheshvan, a day after the anniversary of Maimonides’ visit to the Temple Mount in 1166.  Maimonides, the renowned Torah giant known as the Rambam, later wrote of his pilgrimage to the Holy Land, "We left Acco for Jerusalem under perilous conditions. I entered into 'the great and holy house' [the Temple Moun and prayed there on the sixth day of the month of Cheshvan.”

The Rambam further wrote that he visited the Machpelah Cave on the 9th of Cheshvan, and that he vowed to make both those dates “a special holiday [to mark the occasion on which I will rejoice with prayer, food and drink.”

The event is being held on the backdrop of the closure of the holy site to all Jews throughout the weeklong Sukkot holiday, when many had planned on visiting. The police explained that they had no choice but to close it because of the Arab riots in the area. Hundreds of Jews visited the site after the holiday.

The rabbis and public figures will also protest the “invasive and humiliating” police checks that leading rabbis have recently been forced to undergo when they wish to ascend to the Mount – checks to which non-religious Jews and other visitors are not subject.

So far, the list of participating rabbis includes Rabbi Nachum Rabinovitch, head of the Birkat Moshe hesder yeshiva in Maaleh Adumim, Rabbis Dov Lior, Re’em HaCohen, Yuval Cherlow, YIsrael Ariel, and others. MKs Uri Ariel, Aryeh Eldad, Uri Orbach, Michael Ben-Ari and Otniel Shneller will also be on hand.

Some opinions say that Maimonides did not actually ascend to the Temple Mount, but rather prayed in a synagogue adjoining the Mount. In fact, Jews have long held that entry to the Mount is forbidden by severe Biblical injunction, due to our Jewish-legal impure state.

In recent years, however, a growing number of rabbis feel that this ban can be limited only to the holiest areas of the Temple Mount. This is due to recent research showing conclusively that much of the Mount was not part of the original Temple and can therefore, under certain circumstances, be visited. Ritual immersion in a mikveh is one of the prerequisites.

Rambam Visited a Shtiebl?!

Rabbi Chaim Richman of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem is adamantly in favor of taking the proper precautions and visiting the Mount. "It is very frustrating that there are people that go to the extent of even doubting that the Rambam visited the Mount," Rabbi Richman told Arutz-7. "He writes that he entered the 'great and holy house,' a term used in all our prayers to refer to the Temple, and he is exceedingly emotional in his writing on the experience, something that is very rare for the rationalist rabbi, whose works are known for their exacting language. Do they expect us to believe that he risked his life to visit a shtiebl [makeshift synago nearby? Some people are so stuck in the thinking of 'we don't go there' that they can't accept that he went there. But anyone who reads the text can clearly see what his stance was."Organizer Yehuda Glick said, “We will declare with a loud and clear voice that closing the Temple Mount to Jews because of Arab violence is clearly not acceptable in a Jewish and democratic state.”

Corporate America Worried About Sinking Dollar

CARY, North Carolina - Chief executives from the biggest U.S. corporations worry that the slumping dollar could sap U.S. credibility around the globe, spur inflation and ultimately undermine the economy.

The dollar has fallen to a 14-month low; and while a weaker dollar makes U.S. products cheaper overseas, chief executives gathered for the Business Council meeting in Cary, North Carolina, expressed deep concern that the anemic dollar signals serious jitters.

"The issue is currency devaluation, and the worry is that it essentially lowers our credibility in the world," said Office Depot Inc (ODP.N) CEO Steve Odland in an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of the conference.

CEOs say that a slew of government spending programs on health care and other priorities could undercut economic recovery.

As the Federal Reserve works is effectively "printing money" through various programs to restart stalled financial markets, inflation is a risk.

"I have very significant concerns that unless we modify the current (spending) strategy, we will see inflation and a further reduction of the dollar," said PG&E Corp (PCG.N) CEO Peter Darbee.

"The current move in the dollar is an early indication that others in the world expect the same thing. That's why there's a beginning of the movement away from the dollar as a store of value."

"We need to return to fiscal responsibility," added Office Depot's Odland.

The greenback has been under broad selling pressure on expectations that U.S. interest rates will stay at very low levels for some time. Low rates reduce the attractiveness of U.S. investments and ease demand for the dollars to buy them.

Still, some corporate chieftains don't deny that a weaker dollar can be quite beneficial.

"The biggest benefit to our business is the weaker dollar," said James Goodnight, chief executive officer of the business analytics software maker SAS.

Because SAS reaps about 65 percent of its revenue outside the United States, the dollar's drop against the euro has helped boost profit, he said.

"For every 100 euros (of product) we sell in Europe, we get back $150," said Goodnight."

But overall, many CEOs said they were worried about the long-term impact of a weak dollar.

"Long term, the economic welfare of the country relies a stronger dollar," said Norfolk Southern Corp (NSC.N) CEO Wick Moorman. "While shorter-term weakness may accomplish certain things, it's not a good long term monetary policy."
