Up to Two Million March to U.S. Capitol to Protest Against Obama's Spending in 'tea - Party' Demonstrati

Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as "Obamacare makes me sick" as they protested the president's health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

People were chanting "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading "Go Green Recycle Congress" and "I'm Not Your ATM." Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of "judgment day" - Election Day 2010.

Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Michigan. He said health care needs to be reformed - but not according to President Barack Obama's plan.

"My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It's going to cost too much money that we don't have," he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House of Representatives Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a "March on Washington."

Organizers say they built on momentum from the April "tea party" demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.

Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event - an ethic they believe should be applied to the government.

They say unchecked spending on things like a government-run health insurance option could increase inflation and lead to economic ruin.

Terri Hall, 45, of Florida, said she felt compelled to become political for the first time this year because she was upset by government spending.

"Our government has lost sight of the powers they were granted," she said. She added that the deficit spending was out of control, and said she thought it was putting the country at risk.

Anna Hayes, 58, a nurse from Fairfax County, stood on the Mall in 1981 for Reagan's inauguration. "The same people were celebrating freedom," she said. "The president was fighting for the people then. I remember those years very well and fondly."

Saying she was worried about "Obamacare," Hayes explained: "This is the first rally I've been to that demonstrates against something, the first in my life. I just couldn't stay home anymore."

Like countless others at the rally, Joan Wright, 78, of Ocean Pines, Md., sounded angry. "I'm not taking this crap anymore," said Wright, who came by bus to Washington with 150 like-minded residents of Maryland's Eastern Shore. "I don't like the health-care [plan]. I don't like the czars. And I don't like the elitists telling us what we should do or eat."

Republican lawmakers also supported the rally.

"Republicans, Democrats and independents are stepping up and demanding we put our fiscal house in order," Rep. Mike Pence, chairman of the House Republican Conference, said.

"I think the overriding message after years of borrowing, spending and bailouts is enough is enough."

Other sponsors of the rally include the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform and the Ayn Rand Center for Individuals Rights.

Recent polls illustrate how difficult recent weeks have been for a president who, besides tackling health care, has been battling to end a devastatingly deep recession.

Fifty percent approve and 49 percent disapprove of the overall job he is doing as president, compared to July, when those approving his performance clearly outnumbered those who were unhappy with it, 55 percent to 42 percent.

Just 42 percent approve of the president's work on the high-profile health issue.

The poll was taken over five days just before Obama's speech to Congress. That speech reflected Obama's determination to push ahead despite growing obstacles.

"I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it's better politics to kill this plan than to improve it," Obama said on Wednesday night. "I won't stand by while the special interests use the same old tactics to keep things exactly the way they are.

"If you misrepresent what's in the plan, we'll call you out. And I will not accept the status quo as a solution."

Prior to Obama's speech before Congress U.S. Capitol Police arrested a man they say tried to get into a secure area near the Capitol with a gun in his car as President Barack Obama was speaking.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider said Thursday that 28-year-old Joshua Bowman of suburban Falls Church, Virginia, was arrested around 8 p.m. Wednesday when Obama was due to speak.

Bowman's intentions were unclear, police said.

Today's protests imitated the original Boston Tea Party of 1773, when colonists threw three shiploads of taxed tea into Boston Harbour in protest against the British government under the slogan 'No taxation without representation'.

The group first began rising to prominence in April, when the governor of Texas threatened to secede from the union in protest against government spending. Waves of tea party protests have crossed America since.

Today's rally, the largest grouping of fiscal conservatives to march on Washington, comes on the heels of heated town halls held during the congressional August recess when some Democratic lawmakers were confronted, disrupted and shouted down by angry protestors who oppose President Obama's plan to overhaul the health care system.

"If any man have an ear, let him hear. He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints."

This is not only a warning to the wicked servants of Antichrist, but it is also a word of comfort to the tribulation saints. The Church has already been raptured prior to the beginning of the Tribulation period. Multitudes will place their faith in Christ during the Tribulation, most will be martyred but many will survive those awful days.

Those who are enemies of God and His people will pay the supreme price for their sins, captivity in hell forever. The persecuted saints of that time will have the comfort of knowing that God is in control and that their persecutors will be the real losers.

The exhortation is not to resist the Antichrist. This is his day!  God is allowing him to do his worst. In the face of death, believers are exhorted to submit to the beast. The fact is that those tribulation saints are better off dead. Death will be an entrance into the very presence of God and the sharing of the Glories of Christ forever.

This is a demonstration of the "Patience and faith of the saints". What a contrast with the ungodly!  I am reminded of how God held up Job to Satan and said in effect, Satan your not like Job.

"He that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword", what a comfort for those saints to know that God is in control. They are encouraged to know that they are on the winning side. We look ahead to Revelation 19:20, "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image, these both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

The child of God in this present evil world is always on the losing side in this present kingdom of darkness. We have read the last chapter of the book. That is what those tribulation saints have in these verses, the last chapter of the book. Remember Jesus said, "He that loses his life shall find it, and he that saveth his life shall lose it".

Remember the promise of God to those who are faithful, "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer.....be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life," Revelation 2:10. If we get our eyes on and set our hearts on the promises of God we will be overcomers. What a glorious hope all of God's children have. --  PRAISE THE LORD!

Glyn Davies, the U.S  Ambassador to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, said last week that the U.S. believes Iran is coming close to the “break out” threshold of possessing enough low-enriched uranium to produce one nuclear weapon.

Iran is on the threshold of having the capability of doing what they have been swearing to do for some time now, annihilate Israel. The scriptures indicate that that will not happen. In the light of that, it seems to me that one of two things will happen to prevent Iran’s folly. Either Israel will attack Iran and take away their ability to destroy Israel or the Antichrist will come and sign the peace treaty with Israel and the nations of the world, and pre-empt Iran’s attack.  If the latter is the case, the rapture is about to occur.

If the former is the case, we are headed for a period of great turmoil in the world, such turmoil as would lend itself to the appearance of Antichrist to solve the problems and bring about the false peace.

In this connection several very interesting news items have recently appeared.

On Saturday WND reported, the mystery that surrounded Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s unannounced trip to Russia was created by the Israeli government in a calculation to divert attention from a secret weapons test, according to sources.

Trusted,  confidential  Israeli  sources in Jerusalem, close to the government, told WND the Israeli military conducted the secret weapons test in preparation for  a planned pre-emptive strike on Iran.

WND was unable to learn the exact nature of the experimental weapon, that  was successfully tested, other than to confirm the Israeli military specifically designed the weapon to be used in a possible upcoming war with Iran.

In another news item, Michigan Congressman Mike Rogers states that we are running out of time to stop a nuclear Iran. Rogers , whose committee oversees the work of some 16 US intelligence agencies and organizations, states, “The evidence of Iran’s nuclear program is overwhelming”.

Iran will be a part of the alliance that will attack Israel early in the tribulation period, (Ezekiel 38-39) that attack will be with primitive weapons, (Ezekiel 39:9) not with nuclear weapons nor weapons of modern warfare. That fits perfectly with the scenario of that war which takes place right after the Peace Treaty of Antichrist.

It is obvious, according to scripture that Iran will not annihilate Israel with nuclear weapons or any other kind of weapons. We may see Israel attack Iran and radically change the whole mid east scenario. One thing we have learned is that dramatic changes in the world situation can take place overnight.

We are reminded of those who think Islam will take over the world, and  conclude that the Kingdom of Antichrist must be a Muslim Kingdom. They erroneously try to shape end time Biblical events into current or prospective situations.  Do not interpret Bible prophecy in the light of what is happening in the world situation of the moment, but rather the situations around us in the light of scripture.  We read in Ezekiel that the alliance of Islam  and Russia will be reduced to insignificance very early in the tribulation period. Five of every six members of that alliance, both on the battle field,  and in the homelands will die, leaving both Russia and Islam without significance in the rest of the tribulation period, or at least until the very end of the period,(Ezekiel 39:1-6).

We are fascinated by the unfolding of Biblical prophecy.  We do not always know all of the finer points, but we see a massive coming together of so many prophecies. The trumpet is soon to sound.  ARE YOU READY ?  There will be no second chance!

2013 update: Iran has laboured in the intervening years to produce a bomb to destroy Israel. They are determined and are nearer to their goal than when this article was originally written.

Netanyahu Warns Lebanon That Israel Won't Hold Back When Attacked

JERUSALEM  — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Lebanon on Sunday that Israel "will not hold back" when attacked and holds the Lebanese government responsible for any assault on his country.

Netanyahu delivered the warning after two rockets fired from Lebanon struck northern Israel on Friday. Israel responded immediately with artillery fire, and the exchange ratcheted up persisting tensions between the two countries.

"We view this very gravely," Netanyahu told his Cabinet. "We will not hold back when Israeli territory comes under fire, and will not reconcile ourselves to missile fire or any other form of terror directed at Israeli citizens."

It was not immediately known who fired the rockets Friday. But radical Palestinian factions in Lebanon have been blamed in four firings at Israel this year.

The Israel-Lebanon border has been tense since Israel mounted a monthlong war against Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas in the summer of 2006. More than 1,200 people in Lebanon and 160 Israelis died in that conflict, which ended in a United Nations-brokered truce.

On Sunday, Netanyahu put the onus of maintaining the cease-fire squarely on the shoulders of the Lebanese government.

"We see it responsible for all these violations and hostilities directed at our territory that originate from Lebanese soil," he said.

Hezbollah has a large rocket arsenal, but is not believed to have used them against Israel since the 2006 fighting. It has denied involvement in previous rocket attacks on Israel.

But friction between Israel and Hezbollah has escalated as Lebanese politicians wrangle over the formation of a new government. The Hezbollah-led opposition would likely be a part of that cabinet.

In mid-July, a suspected Hezbollah arms depot exploded near the Israeli border. Israel said this was proof the group was rearming and stashing weapons in populated villages.

Lebanon's An-Nahar newspaper reported Sunday that the U.N. force in Lebanon, which was beefed up significantly after the war to monitor the border, had been warned of a possible attack 10 days earlier.

The U.N. force relayed this information to the Lebanese army two days before the attack, the report said.

A spokesman for the U.N. force, Milos Strugar, said an investigation under way "is pointing in the direction of some extremist groups." He did not elaborate.
