Revelation 13:1 Seven Heads and Ten Horns Pt.2

".....having seven heads..."  The seven heads represent the seven world empires of history. . John sheds more light on this matter in Rev. 17:10, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, one is, and the other is not yet come;..".  "Five are fallen", who are the five world kingdoms that had come and gone in John's day?  1--Eygpt.  2-- Assyria. 3 -- Babylon. 4 -- Medio-persia.   5 -- Greece.  These empires had come and gone by John's day.  Then John says, "and one is", which empire was in power in John's day?  # 6  Rome. Then John says, "the other is yet to come", which empire is that? Daniel tells us, the Revived Roman Empire which was yet to come in John's day and still is yet to come in our own day. Daniel described this future empire as represented by ten toes, John uses the symbol of ten horns.

Daniel prophesied of five world empires to come, he did not prophecy about Egypt and Assyria because they had already come and gone.

Question -  When Revelation describes the kingdom of the beast as having seven heads, what does it mean? It means that the kingdom of the beast is representive of all human government that, First - has sought to rule this world apart from God and His Word. It is human government in rebellion against God. Second - All of these empires have persecuted and destroyed God's people Israel. The kingdom of the beast (antichrist) is representative of all these empires, and as such God is going to pour out His judgment on it and in judging it will judge all human government. Eternal judgment is for individuals, but Judgment on the nations is in the context of this world.

The spirit of human government is the same in every situation, it is a usurping of the one whose right it is to rule. Before that one comes to the throne of David to rule, the usurper as represented by the kingdom of antichrist, must be judged and destroyed.

"And upon his horns ten crowns,"  This describes the way in which antichrist comes to power. He sudenly appears as head of the Revived Roman Empire which will be made up of ten nations. He represents them as he confirms the seven year Peace Treaty. Remember that the Revived Roman Empire only lasts 31/2 years and then it gives way to the final kingdom, the kingdom of antichrist which totally dominates the entire world for final 31/2 years of the tribulation period. We will discuss this further when we come to chapter 17.

"And upon his heads the name of blasphemy".  This proud leader is said to be a blasphemer because First he is a usurper of the one who is the rightful King of this world, Jesus Christ. Secondly he presents himself as God and demands that the whole world is to worship him, 2 Thess. 2:4.  This has been the attitude of the Kings of all of these past world empires. Before the rightful king comes to rule this world these rebellious kings must be exposed and judged.

Jewish Disappointment with Obama

Recently President Obama has demanded that Israel cease all construction in East Jerusalem. He has been putting great pressure on Israeli leaders to exit from Jerusalem. American Jewish leaders are up in arms over these demands by Obama. During the presidential campaign Obama told Jewish audiences repeatedly that Jerusalem must remain undivided.

Mort Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America told WND.  “He said as a candidate in 2008 that he supports an undivided Jerusalem and will never permit Iran to obtain Nuclear weapons, and now we see these claims were simply false.”

On another occasion Obama said,  “As a practical matter, it would be very difficult to execute”  a division of the city. “And I think that it is smart for us to work through a system in which everybody has access to the extraordinary religious sites in Old Jerusalem but that Israel has a legitimate claim on that city.”

In actual fact the Obama administration is calling for a halt to all Jewish construction in eastern Jerusalem and the West Bank. They are accepting the Palestinian claims on Jerusalem as a future capital, inspite of fact that the city has never been a part any Palestinian entity.

Meanwhile in Jerusalem some 1500 Jewish people gathered to hold an anti-Obama rally, protesting the unrelenting pressure America is putting on Israel.

Rabbi Eliezer Waldman, a former Member of the Knesset was the first to speak.  He acknowledged that Obama had promised to bring “change,” and that President Shimon Peres has long spoken of a “New Middle East,” the Rabbi said,  “Yes, there is a new Middle East – G-D Almighty has taken His people out of exile and brought them back home to its land! He has brought to independence, to settlement, to life in its land that has come to life once again!  This is the change!  And woe unto those who would interfere in this process of change!”

Many signs were in evidence at the rally with messages like:

---The land of the Bible belongs to the people of the Bible.

---Obama : no you can’t!

---Yes we Can Build Settlements

---Warning American Jews are in danger

---Obama, deal with Iran – Israel belongs to the Jews

---Jordan is Palestine

---Israel won’t fold

---Let My People Grow

Gershon Mesika said,  The Arabs don’t want us anywhere in this land: they want us in the ocean! .... Mr. Obama: Remove your hands from the land of Israel!  You must understand this simple truth; The Land of Israel belongs to the nation of Israel according the Torah of Israel.

We cannot help but think about Israel in  Egypt so long ago, and how another anti-semite, Pharoah, sought to enslave Israel. We also think of Hitler not so long ago, his attempted destruction of Israel ended the same way all attempts to destroy Israel uktimately end.  Mr. Obama neither the Almighty God nor time are on your side.  Amazing how men never learn!

Bowing to the Givers

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. --1 Timothy 6:17

Remember, my giving will be rewarded not by how much I gave but by how much I had left. Ministers are sometimes tempted to shy away from such doctrine as this lest they offend the important givers in their congregation. But it is better to offend men than to grieve the blessed Spirit of God which dwells in the church. No man ever yet killed a true church by withdrawing his gifts from it because of a personal pique. The Church of the Firstborn is not dependent upon the patronage of men. No man has ever been able really to harm a church by boycotting it financially. The moment we admit that we fear the displeasure of the carnal givers in our congregations we admit also that our congregations are not of heaven but of the earth. A heavenly church will enjoy a heavenly and supernatural prosperity. She cannot be starved out. The Lord will supply her needs. God Tells the Man Who Cares, 147.

"Thank You, Heavenly Father, for Your incredibly generous provision and faithfulness--both to us as individuals and to the churches we lead. Amen."
