Verily, I Say Unto Thee, Today Shall Thou be With Me in Paradise - Luke 23:43

Morning Meditation

Categories: Commentary;Inspirational;Book Study

Today! - Dost thou ask Me to remember thee at some distant moment, when the kingdom of which I am now laying the foundations shall have become the all-conquering kingdom of the world? Thou needest not wait so long. I say unto thee that this very day, when yonder sun now scorching above our heads is sinking in the west, and the shadows lie long from our crosses, and the people have gone to their homes, thou shalt be with Me, where the sun shall no more be thy light by day, nor the moon by night, but the Lord shall be thy everlasting light.

Thou shalt be with Me. - Dost thou ask only to be remembered; that I should give thee the glance of a thought; that I shall recall thy voice and face for a brief moment? Thou shalt be with Me, for I will await thee on the confines of My home. The throngs which escort Me shall behold thee by My side, and when I sit upon My sapphire throne I will give thee to sit beside Me, the one who, in My mortal anguish, trod the vale of the shadow, and who, with Me, shall tread the paths of light and glory.

In Paradise. - I am here regaining Paradise. All that was lost is being recovered. Within a few hours it will be Mine to give; within a few hours its key will be in My hand; within a few hours thou shalt walk with Me there in the cool of the day, and the angel that drove out Adam shall keep watch lest the Serpent enter to molest.

Verily, I say unto thee. - All this is fixed and certain. I say "verily" to thee because the Father hath said "verily" to Me. Oh, trembling soul, who hast fled for refuge, to lay hold upon the hope set before thee, thou mayest have strong encouragement from My Word and death.

Polyamory - Sexual Revolution's Next Big Push

The Sexual Revolution is rapidly pushing towards the total breakdown of boundaries, both social and biological.

With the stunning rise of gender ideology and our culture's near total collapse in the face of the trans movement's advance, science has now become the slave of ideology, with the belief in bodily autonomy encompassing the conviction that we can mold reality to our wills--essentially, that each of us can create our own personal tailor-made reality, and that society should force everyone else to accept our choices.

The sexual totalitarian's response to pesky questions about all this is literally the familiar response of an authoritarian figure: "Because I said so, that's why."

On the social front, progressives are working on finishing off the institution of marriage. Having gutted it of its traditional millennia-old moral and natural law meaning, they are now attempting to mangle it beyond all recognition. A "family," the new talking points go, is any cluster of people who are choosing to sleep with one another at any given time.

The children of that family may thus have a string of rotating parental figures who may or may not be biologically related to them, and the stability of their lives is attached to the stability of "open relationships," which is to say that there is none.

Nobody seems to have any problem with this, because we long ago accepted that children would be the collateral damage of this revolution, and so the desire of children for a mother and a father are dismissed as a hangover from a less enlightened age.

And so the media has now begun to mainstream the idea of "polyamory," which is essentially the practice of loosely organized promiscuity, but with some rights and dignity attached to it. From The Christian Post:

A brewing push is afoot to overhaul laws to accommodate polyamorous relations, euphemistically known as "consensual non-monogamous" arrangements. In a Thursday CBS News interview, self-described LGBT legal activist Diana Adams explained that she intends to support non-traditional families, including polyamorous ones, before the law has caught up.

"There are significant holes in coverage for families that don't fit into a two-person marriage situation," she said. Asked to elaborate on what available legal tools she would draw on to contain a multi-partner union and family, the lawyer suggested setting up a limited liability corporation.

"Forming an LLC is one way to allow people to structure finances, to maybe share a health insurance plan, to own real estate as three or more people without getting into a question of whether the government is approving of your relationship, whether or not you're in a romantic relationship, [it] shouldn't matter," Adams offered.

"I think we are seeing more people who are thinking about structuring their own kinds of relationships by contracts, doing real estate agreements, doing the LLC, making a financial agreement for support, you could do cohabitation agreement if you're not getting married that would be about financial support if you were to break up."

The lawyer went on to claim that polyamorous persons face various risks and discrimination and are not being guaranteed things such as immigration benefits and inheritance rights. If persons who practice this way of life in a culturally conservative area, they are not likely to be heard favorably in court because the judge will likely be conservative, she noted, adding that judges are increasingly more receptive to these relational arrangements.

Adams maintained that the relevant social science data now demonstrates that consensual non-monogamy and polyamory are "within the realm of healthy adult relationships and sexuality and that the children do fine." Writing in Quillette Monday, University of New Mexico psychology professor Geoffrey Miller suggested that polyamory should be taken seriously and is, while still a small subculture, more common than being gay or lesbian.

"I think that's going to help create change nationwide over time but at this point [polyamorous] people still are at risk," Adams said, going on to praise the city of San Francisco, which has taken the lead in "broad partnership policies." Many who practice polyamory are still closeted because of "stigma and discrimination," she continued, urging the creating more "uniformity" in parenting law nationwide.

That expressed need to create uniformity "gave away the game" said Jennifer Roback Morse, founder and president of the Ruth Institute in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In the end, the lawyer's words amount to nothing but a massive state power grab, she believes. "We used to have uniform laws. The woman who gives birth to the child is presumed to be the child's one and only legally recognized mother. Her husband is presumed to be the child's one and only legally recognized father," Morse explained in an email to The Christian Post Monday.
"The end game for the sexual revolutionaries is to capture the state to redefine parenthood. They want contract parenting, with no legal 'privileging' or 'incentivizing' of biological relationships. This has been the goal of the LGBT legal community and their allies for some time.

Redefining parenthood was always part of the goal of redefining marriage. The charming lesbian couple with children was the rhetorical battering ram to accomplish that through gay marriage. Today, the 'consensual non-monogamy' people are their current battering ram."

To be blunt, it seems honest that this most recent interest group of libertines who have coalesced around their preferred pelvic proclivities will eventually get what they want, too. Once we decided that marriage was whatever somebody wanted it to be, the number of partners was sure to become optional at some point, as well.

And with gender and biological reality itself becoming a reality, the boundaries have been abolished and there is simply no solid reason to reject these new claims now that we have rejected the Judeo-Christian foundation society once stood on.

We are standing with our feet firmly planted in mid-air, and it is increasingly a long, long drop to the bottom. And, as Douglas Wilson once noted, when someone leaps off a cliff, they will briefly feel the exhilarating sensation of absolute freedom--before the law of gravity asserts itself and they smash to pieces on the rocks below.

Foreign - Policy Experts Predict Iranian Attack on Israel Just a Matter of Time

As Iranians took to the streets this week to commemorate 40 years since the U.S. embassy takeover in 1979, Iran announced new violations of the nuclear deal it signed in 2015.

The rogue Islamic Republic admitted that it now operates 60 advanced IR-6 centrifuges and is working on a new type of centrifuge that will work 50 times faster than what is currently permitted under the deal.

This announcement comes after Iran has engaged in attacks on oil tankers and Saudi oil facilities, shooting down an American drone, and, of course, its ongoing and aggressive efforts to build a war machine against Israel in Syria and elsewhere.

For its part, on Monday the U.S. Treasury Department announced new sanctions against nine Iranian military commanders and officials. U.S. President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran in May 2018 and reimposed tough sanctions in an effort to curb the regime's destabilizing behavior in the Middle East and around the globe.

Regardless, Tehran has continued to engage in destabilization efforts and heavily supports terror activity and weapons buildup in the Middle East.

Yaakov Amidror, a former national security advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and currently an analyst at the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security and a fellow at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America, told JNS that the Iranians want to remain far away from the Jewish state, but at the same time build "a ring of fire" around it.

Iran supports Hezbollah in Lebanon and the terror organization is estimated to have as many as 100,000 missiles. Iran is also trying hard to create an independent war machine in Syria, which Israel has been working to dismantle. According to foreign and some Israeli reports, Israel has struck 300 targets in Syria so far.

According to Amidror, Iran realized that Israel has been succeeding in Syria, so it began to build a branch of its independent war machine in Iraq, taking advantage of the fact that the Iraqis don't have total control of some parts of their land. For Iran, the idea is to have a military capability close to Israel, while it itself remains at a distance.

"An interesting question," Amidror said, "is what should Israel's reaction be in such a situation? We know the head of the snake is in Iran. Will Israel go after targets in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon or Yemen? Or will we go directly to the head of the snake?"

Iran has the capability to attack Israel from multiple locations, including Lebanon and Syria--and now Iraq and possibly Yemen--as Netanyahu mentioned recently.

'This will be complicated'

Eytan Gilboa, professor and director of the Center for International Communication at Bar-Ilan

University in Ramat Gan and a senior research associate at the BESA Center for Strategic Studies, told JNS that a number of elements have changed recently that impact Israel's preparedness and decision-making.

First, Iran attacked the Saudi oil fields. Second, the United States withdrew from Syria. And third, Iranian provocations in the Persian Gulf were not met with any aggressive American answer.

"We also see Islamic Jihad in Gaza, on orders from Iran, trying to sabotage and undermine the situation there," he said.

Like Amidror, Gilboa noted that Israel has been trying to prevent Iran from building another front in Syria, saying "this strategy has been extended to Iraq."

He laid out the current state of affairs from Israel's perspective. According to Gilboa, "it is obvious, for all kinds of reasons, that Iran would not attack Israel directly from its own territory. Iran lost some of the surprise that could have been inflicted on Israel had it not used cruise missiles against Saudi Arabia."

Israel is preparing adequate answers to this kind of threat as it expects Iran to attack it with precision-guided cruise missiles and drones.

Gilboa suggested that the components of Israeli strategy must first be to reveal Iran's plan. Then, Israel must threaten direct and severe retaliation. Finally, Israel must make it clear that Syria and Lebanon will pay the price if attacks on Israel originate on their soil.

"If Iran orders Nasrallah to attack Israel, this will be complicated," said Gilboa. "In the 2006 Second Lebanon War, Israel distinguished between the Lebanese Army and Hezbollah. This is no longer the case. If Israel comes under attack, it will attack Lebanon, including Hezbollah. The same is true for Syria. Israel is trying to persuade [Syrian President] Basher Assad and Russia that if Israel comes under attack from Syria, it is Assad who will pay the price."

Additionally, continued Gilboa, Israel must inform Russia of potential Israeli action after any attack by Iran. "These exchanges of fire between Israel and Iranian attempts to build a base in Syria is completely not in Russia's interest, and this is why Russia is not protesting Israeli military actions in Syria," he said.

Israel should work to procure an American statement of support and must coordinate with the United States to announce that attacks on Israel will trigger American action.

"On the face of it," Gilboa said, "these components should create some level of deterrence. Israel's main strategy is to create deterrence or at least limit any potential Iranian attack."

If Iran does indeed attack, there will have to be a massive retaliation against Iranian interests.

According to Gilboa, Europe should not be expected to join in the fight against Iran's hegemonic ambitions and support of global terrorism. They are "stupid and deaf," he charged, and only trying to appease Iran.

Both Amidror and Gilboa agree that Iran is certainly bent on Israel in its crosshairs.

"Confrontation between Iran and Israel is unavoidable," said Gilboa. "There is great probability for some Iranian military action; this is something Israel is preparing for."

"Our assumption," said Amidror, "is not a question of if, but when."

Bernie Sanders Proposes Taking Money from Israel, Giving It to Terrorists

News Image

Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said that part of the money that America gives to its ally Israel should be diverted to Gaza.

"My solution is, to Israel, if you want military aid you're going to have to fundamentally change your relationship to the people of Gaza," he said. "I would say that some of the $3.8 billion should go right now to humanitarian aid in Gaza."

Sanders' proposal essentially calls for the U.S. giving money to a U.S.-designated terrorist organization, Hamas, the duly elected government of Gaza.

Hamas has historically used the billions of dollars of aid monies given to Gaza to build its terrorist infrastructure and line its own pockets -- not for the benefit of the people it governs.

Even if Sanders wanted to give the money directly to the people, short of standing on the street corner himself and doling out dollars bills, the money would still go to Hamas. The terror organization has a history of taking over aid organizations (including those from the UN) in Gaza.

Documentation of these facts is irrefutable. Moreover, they are certainly facts of which Bernie Sanders is well aware.

Bernie Sanders made the outrageous proposal at a J Street conference earlier this week. J Street is an organization that purports itself to be pro-Israel, however, it is known for its Far Left, anti-Zionist stances.

Other Democrat presidential candidates spoke at the conference or sent messages as well: frontrunners Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden, also  Andrew Yang, Marianne Williamson, Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro and Amy Klobuchar.

However, Sanders was the only candidate essentially proposing to give money to a terror organization.

Sanders' proposal was met with derision by the head of Israel's parliament Yuli Edelstein, who said the senator should "stop talking nonsense."

With Sanders' support for taking money away from America's ally Israel and giving it to Gaza (read: Hamas), it is not surprising that he has been endorsed by Congresswomen Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as well as sharia-apologist Linda Sarsour, who works as Sanders' campaign surrogate.

Each of these has previously endorsed either Hamas' terror actions against Israel or the anti-Semitic Boycott, Sanction and Divest (BDS) movement against Israel.

The BDS movement aims to strangle the Jewish state economically, while at the same time calls for the flooding of Palestinians into Israel to destroy the Jewish character of the state.

According to the definition of anti-Semitism by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance and officially adopted by the U.S. (and 31 other nations), the BDS movement is, at its core, an anti-Semitic movement. Even a recent UN report lambasted the movement's role in promoting anti-Semitism.

One thing Bernie Sanders is right about is his statement: "What is going on in Gaza right now, for example, is absolutely inhumane. It is unacceptable. It is unsustainable."

Only that's not because of the policies of America's ally Israel. It's because of the fact that a terror organization - Hamas - was elected by the people of Gaza to govern them.
