A 5.4 magnitude quake hit Bohol and Cebu anew on Monday morning, the strongest aftershock in the last four days recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Amid the government crisis, the US is $17 trillion in debt which is 107 percent of GDP. However, more important is the fact that it is 700 percent of the country’s revenue, Michael Pento, president of Pento Portfolio Strategies told RT. “That $ 17 trillion everybody says its 107 percent of GDP, that’s true. But who really cares about the percentage of GDP? It’s the percentage of the debt as a percentage of the revenue – its 700 percent of our revenue.  

‘Unacceptable and shocking’: France demands explanation for NSA spying
France has called for an explanation for the “unacceptable” and “shocking” reports of NSA spying on French citizens. Leaked documents revealed the spy agency records millions of phone calls and monitors politicians and high-profile business people. The US Ambassador to France Charles Rivkin was summoned by the French Foreign Ministry to account for the espionage allegations on Monday morning.  

Pope Rejects Meeting with Bibi in Rome
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will not be meeting with Pope Francis during his visit to Rome on Wednesday, a diplomatic source told AFP on Sunday. A statement last week from Netanyahu’s office had said he would be "meeting Pope Francis next Wednesday at the Vatican" and with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for updates on nuclear talks with Iran and negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.  

Concerns as Israel Hit by Two Earthquakes in One Day
Israel experienced not one, but two earthquakes on Sunday, raising fears that a significant geological event was in the offing. Sunday's quakes followed one that occurred early Saturday morning, which was preceded by one last Thursday night. Eight days ago, an earthquake was felt in southern and central Israel, measuring at 6.4 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter beneath the Mediterranean about 40 kilometers under the sea bed, 70 kilometers west of Crete.  

'Frankenfish' coming to a supermarket near you as campaigners warn against GM salmon
American supermarkets are being pressured to refuse to stock genetically modified salmon, which is poised to become the first GM animal ever approved for human consumption in the coming weeks. A so-called "super salmon", which has been under development in Massachusetts for 18 years, is expected to be cleared for sale soon by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  

Billy Graham sounds alarm for 2nd Coming
Just as Noah did in ancient times, world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham is sounding the alarm that the Second Coming is “near” and signs of the end of the age are “converging now for the first time since Jesus made those predictions.” Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the United Nations General Assembly “biblical prophecies are being realized.” “God keeps his promises, and this is why we can be sure that the return of Christ is near,” Graham said. “Scripture tells us that there will be signs pointing toward the return of the Lord. I believe all these signs are evident today.”

Again: Arabs Fly Nazi Flag Near Road
For at least the second time in five months, Arab residents of Beit Umar in the Palestinian Authority (PA) have placed a Nazi flag over a major thoroughfare where Jews pass in their vehicles. Beit Umar is located a half hour south of Jerusalem, between Halhoul and the Etzion Bloc, not far from Hevron.  

Radioactive water leaks at Fukushima as operator underestimates rainfall
Highly radioactive water overflowed barriers into Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, its operating utility said on Monday, after it underestimated how much rain would fall at the plant and failed to pump it out quickly enough. ...After heavy rain on Sunday, water with high levels of radioactive strontium overflowed containment areas built around some 1,000 tanks storing tonnes of radioactive water...  

Polio outbreak fears in war-ravaged Syria
Experts are concerned that polio may have made a return to war-torn Syria. The World Health Organization says it has received reports of the first suspected outbreak in the country in 14 years. Syrian's Ministry of Public Health is launching an urgent response, but experts fear the disease will be hard to control amid civil unrest.

Australia fires: NSW Blue Mountains fires 'could merge'
Fire fighters in Australia's New South Wales have worked throughout the day to battle bushfires across the state, amid fears three blazes could merge. New South Wales has been badly hit by bushfires after the hottest September on record. It has declared a state of emergency. Early on Monday, the fire commissioner said three fires near Lithgow could be at risk of joining into one fire front.  

Earthquakes rattle Idaho, Wyoming
The United States Geological Survey said a 3.3 magnitude quake early Saturday morning about 15 miles from Afton, Wyo., followed a 3.5 magnitude quake about 6 miles from Wilson, Wyo.., on Friday evening.  

Egypt gunmen open fire on Coptic Christian wedding in Cairo
Three people, including a girl aged eight, died when gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on a wedding party outside a Coptic Christian church in Cairo. At least nine others were wounded in the attack in Giza, officials said. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Super Typhoon Francisco Becomes Earth's 3rd Category 5 Storm of 2013
Mighty Super Typhoon Francisco has intensified to become Earth's third Category 5 storm of 2013. The other two Cat 5s were Cyclone Phailin, which hit India earlier this month at Category 3 or 4 strength, killing 44 and causing at least $1 billion in damage, and Super Typhoon Usagi, which hit China just east of Hong Kong as a Category 2 storm on September 22, killing 50 and causing at least $3.8 billion in damage.
