"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" (1 Peter 2:24).

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit" (1 Peter 3:18).

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus " (Romans 3:21- 26).

"Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law" (Romans 3:28).

Europe prepares to come clean on hidden bank losses
Euro zone countries will consider on Monday how to pay for the repair of their broken banks after health checks next year that are expected to uncover problems that have festered since the financial crisis. Nobody knows the true scale of potential losses at Europe's banks, but the International Monetary Fund hinted at the enormity of the problem this month, saying that Spanish and Italian banks face 230 billion euros ($310 billion) of losses alone on credit to companies in the next two years.  

US and Afghanistan close to deal on security after 2014 though troop jurisdiction yet to be resolved
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Saturday reached a preliminary agreement on a bilateral security pact that now depends on approval by Afghanistan’s tribal leaders. The pact, announced jointly by Kerry and Karzai after two days of talks in the capital, Kabul, would keep some U.S. forces in Afghanistan after 2014.  

Hajj pilgrimage starts in Saudi Arabia
Some two million Muslims poured out of the holy city of Mecca under the supervision of 100,000 troops deployed to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. Abdullah Al-Rabi, the Saudi Health Minister, said no cases had been detected among the pilgrims. The virus has killed 60 people worldwide, 51 of them in Saudi Arabia.  

‘Terror tunnel’ discovered running from Gaza to Israel
Security forces last week discovered and rendered unusable an underground tunnel linking Gaza and Israel, likely intended to facilitate a terror attack or kidnapping attempt inside Israel, the IDF said Sunday morning. The tunnel...started in Abbasan al-Saghira, a farming village near Khan Yunis, in Gaza, and terminated inside Israel about three kilometers from Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha, in the western Negev.  

World top bankers warn of dire consequences if U.S. defaults
Three of the world's most powerful bankers warned of terrible consequences if the United States defaults on its debt, with Deutsche Bank chief executive Anshu Jain claiming default would be "utterly catastrophic." "This would be a very rapidly spreading, fatal disease," Jain said on Saturday at a conference hosted by the Institute of International Finance in Washington.  

Abbas to lobby EU to support sanctions against West Bank settlements
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is expected to visit three European countries this week to discuss activating EU regulations against West Bank settlements and Jewish areas of east Jerusalem. In July, the EU issued guidelines that clarified its policy against providing grants, prizes or loans to Israeli entities, including nonprofit and educational institutions, that operate over the pre-1967 lines.  

'De-Americanised' world needed after US shutdown: China media
While US politicians grapple with how to reopen their shuttered government and avoid a potentially disastrous default on their debt, the world should consider 'de-Americanising', a commentary on China's official news agency said Sunday. "As US politicians of both political parties (fail to find a) viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanised world," the commentary on state news agency Xinhua said.

The Iranian delegation to an upcoming round of nuclear talks with the P5+1 nations plans to present a three-stage compromise proposal that would entail Western recognition of the legitimacy of Iran’s controversial uranium enrichment program.  

Cyclone in India weakens after causing damage
An immense, powerful cyclone that lashed the Indian coast, forcing 500,000 people to evacuate and causing widespread damage, weakened Sunday after making landfall. Five people died in the rains that fell ahead of the storm, most killed by falling branches, Indian media reported, but the situation on the ground in many areas was still unclear after Cyclone Phailin slammed into the coast Saturday evening in Orissa state.  

14 Are Killed by Car Bomb Outside Shops in Iraqi City
A car bomb exploded in a street lined with shops in the Iraqi city of Samarra on Saturday, killing at least 14 people, the police and medics said.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the leaders of Britain and France to urge them not to ease sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program, ahead of talks between Iran and world powers.  

Storm, Floods Kill 33 in Philippines as Typhoon Wipha Expected
At least 33 people were killed in the Philippines in the past week as days of heavy rains followed by a typhoon caused flooding and landslides while a new tropical storm is expected tomorrow. At least 13 died after Typhoon Nari slammed into the provinces north of the capital yesterday, uprooting trees, causing power outages and making some roads impassable, according to the disaster monitoring agency’s report on its website. Twenty were killed in the five days to Oct. 8 in parts of Visayas and Mindanao islands due to floods and landslides, a separate report said.

She and Wilson -- who reportedly met several years ago when he hired her to be his trainer -- are not together, the source says, but he's made it clear that he'll be there for her and, when the time comes, the baby.

Abbas Araghchi, a senior member of the negotiating team taking part in the Geneva talks opening Tuesday said Sunday that Tehran will not consider sending abroad any of its stockpile of enriched uranium as part of a deal with the world powers. His words contrasted with the statement by Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani last week that Iran would be willing to discus the removal of its surplus material with Western Powers.

OF ALL THE CALAMITIES THAT HAVE BEEN VISITED upon the world, the surrender of the human spirit to this present world and its ways is the worst—without doubt!

No oriental monarch ever ruled his cowering subjects with any more cruel tyranny than things—visible things, audible things, tangible things—rule mankind.

That we who were made to communicate with angels and archangels and seraphim and with the God who made them all—that we should settle down here as a wild eagle of the air come down to scratch in the barnyard with the common hens—this I say is the worst of anything that has ever come to the world!

It seems incredible that we who were made for many worlds should accept this one world as our ultimate home.

Man was made in the image of God and is now a fallen being that has left its place in the celestial world and has plummeted down like a falling star. Now, in this world, he has all but forgotten the place from which he came.

That is why the devil sees to it that we seldom get alone with time to think and meditate on the reality of the other world. For when a man really gets alone, he senses often that this life in this world is not the answer—it is not the end.

Actually and simply, a Christian is one who dedicates himself to God to inhabit another and better world!
