Visiting Senator: Idea of Unilateral Pa State ‘dead on Arrival’

 PA Scheme ‘Dead on Arrival’
The chances of the Palestinian Authority convincing the United Nations to recognize the PA as an independent Arab country are “dead on arrival,” according to Democratic U.S. Senator Ted Kaufman, visiting Israel from his home state of Delaware. Speaking at a news conference Monday at the Saban Forum, he was joined by other senators who also ridiculed the idea.

Independent U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman, a former candidate for vice president for the Democratic party, called the Arab effort a "waste of time” because it would eliminate Israel from the diplomatic process. "I hope and presume that the United States would veto such a move if it ever came to the [United Nation Security Council," said Lieberman.

Asked if the Obama administration will give a positive answer to the PA’s intended request for backing United Nations recognition, U.S. State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters, “Well, I don't think that - I'm not aware that they have come to us seeking our opinion or our approval. I mean, our position is clear… We understand that people might be frustrated, but we are convinced that this has to be achieved through negotiation between the two parties.”

Pressed as to whether the United States would veto such a U.N. resolution, Kelly replied, “I'm not going to say we're going to - I mean, I don't - I can't say we're going to veto something we haven't seen or hasn't even been proposed yet."

The Obama administration still is trying to convince PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to resume negotiations with Israel for the establishment of a new PA state, despite his refusal to talk unless Israel agrees to pre-conditions that the Netanyahu government has ruled out. U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell met again this week with Israeli negotiators, this time in London.

Kelly rejected a reporter’s suggestion that Mitchell has achieved “zero results,” explaining, “I know that 10 months sounds like a long time when it's said out of context, but this problem has been going on for decades.”

PA officials asserted they are undaunted by warnings from several Israeli leaders that any unilateral action by the PA might be met by Israel’s officially annexing Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Yasser Abed Rabbo, secretary-general of the PLO's Central Committee, said at a rally in Ramallah, he said, “We are now facing a moment of truth. We will seek to pass this [U.N Security Council resolution and the activation of the Fourth Geneva Convention to protect the Palestinian people.

“We don't resort to unilateral policies for the simple fact that we aren't isolated. We aren't alone. Only pariahs embrace unilateralism."

Courageous researchers sued for uncovering widespread Islamist infiltration

If you're like most normal, decent Americans, you're horrified at the radical leftist coup playing out in the halls of power every day, maniacally intent on transforming our country in the most radical ways, whether we like it or not. You hear about this every day, and are justifiably outraged.

But there is a second front in this war, one less obvious, but just as ominous. And that is the ongoing radical Islamic subversion of our country, far more advanced than most people realize, to the point that today most of America's largest "mainstream" Islamic "civil rights," "charitable" and "lobbying" organizations are in fact fronts for the dangerous international Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of al-Qaida and Hamas. If you're tempted to glaze over this paragraph because what it says doesn't sound familiar – don't. This is not my opinion; federal law enforcement confirms there exists a network of wealthy Islamic organizations within the U.S. dedicated to supporting terrorist groups and subverting our constitutional government.

The only reason we know about such things – whether it's Marxist radicals in the White House or the Islamist subversion of government – is because of the New Media, that is, the Internet and talk radio and some cable news. Most in the Old Media, laughably misnamed the "mainstream media," are either asleep at the switch, too afraid to report the whole truth, or worst of all, are complicit.

Regular Americans cheer when they see New Media investigators expose radicals' attacks on America. Like WND's own Aaron Klein, who first reported back in April on White House communist czar Van Jones, revelations picked up during the summer by Glenn Beck, who then hammered Jones daily on his popular Fox show until he was forced to resign.

Or like the two 20-something ACORN investigators, "prostitute" Hannah Giles and "pimp" filmmaker James O'Keefe, who dramatically exposed that criminal enterprise with hidden video.

And then there's the ultimate ACORN-style investigation, more daring and more dangerous than you can imagine. Last year, a young man named Chris Gaubatz, along with two young ladies, pretended to convert to Islam – he grew a beard, they wore veils – and landed positions as interns with the notorious Council on Islamic-American Relations, or CAIR, whose national headquarters is just three blocks from the U.S. Capitol.

Mind you, CAIR is known by the U.S. government to be a Saudi-funded, terrorist-front group, whose terror connections caused the FBI earlier this year to cut off ties with the organization. The U.S. Justice Department has likewise branded CAIR an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the largest terror-funding trial in U.S. history. In other words, in law enforcement terms CAIR is a "dirty" organization. It has supported known terror groups like Hamas, it has engaged in placing interns and staffers in key congressional offices, and works ceaselessly to undermine America's post-9/11 security, according to multiple FBI agents.

Our knowledge of all this increased dramatically with WND Books' recent publication of the blockbuster book "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America," co-authored by former federal agent and terror investigator P. David Gaubatz – Chris Gaubatz's father.

A U.S. State Department–trained Arabic linguist and counterterrorism specialist, in 2003 Dave Gaubatz became the first U.S. civilian federal agent deployed to Nasiriyah, Iraq. According to Rep. Sue Myrick, founder of the bipartisan Congressional anti-terror Caucus, Dave Gaubatz "deserves all our gratitude for his heroic service to our country."

Gaubatz's co-author for "Muslim Mafia" is veteran investigative reporter Paul Sperry, one of the nation's top journalistic experts on Islamic infiltration. Sperry's previous book "Infiltration" is used by law enforcement, and he's also one of the best reporters I've known personally in 25 years of journalism.

Here's where it gets really interesting.

Just as ACORN, rather than admitting its absurdly obvious corruption once exposed, played innocent and instead turned around and sued the dynamic duo for videotaping them, CAIR is doing the same thing. While denying everything, disputing the Justice Department designation as terror co-conspirator, faulting the FBI, and condemning members of Congress who, based on "Muslim Mafia"'s revelations, have recently called for three separate federal probes of the organization, CAIR maintains its innocence. And true to form, on Nov. 2 it filed in federal district court in Washington, D.C., a lawsuit against Chris Gaubatz and his father, "Muslim Mafia" co-author P. David Gaubatz.

The next day, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, based solely on the requests from CAIR's lawyers and without benefit of input from the defendants (that'll come later), granted CAIR'S demand for a temporary restraining order barring P. David Gaubatz and his son, Chris Gaubatz, from further use or publication of the internal documents, recordings and records obtained in the six-month undercover operation, and ordering they return them to CAIR's lawyers by midnight Nov 18.

Although CAIR contends Chris Gaubatz stole the documents, WND founder and CEO Joseph Farah has previously explained in a letter to Congress that the CAIR material was legally obtained by the young investigator, who had been asked by CAIR officials "to shred documents he believed might be criminal evidence … and involve matters of national security."

"On advice from counsel, he collected those documents and preserved them. None of the documents were 'stolen,'" Farah said. "They were, in fact, handed to him by CAIR employees for destruction. All of the documents are available for review by appropriate law-enforcement authorities and, in fact, some have already been provided to them."

Farah concluded by saying Gaubatz's "patriotic activities within CAIR, an unindicted terrorist co-conspirator, were done on advice of counsel at every step, and were in accordance with District of Columbia and Virginia state law."

Obama Vows to Seek Climate Action, If not Treaty

In China, he talks of accord with 'immediate operational effect'

BEIJING - President Barack Obama, with China's leader at his side, lifted his sights Tuesday for a broad accord at next month's climate conference that he said will lead to immediate action and "rally the world" toward a solution on global warming.

Obama and President Hu Jintao talked of a joint desire to tackle climate change, but failed to publicly address the root problems that could unravel a deal at the 192-nation conference in Copenhagen: how much each country can contribute to curb greenhouse gases and how the world will pay the billions of dollars needed to fight rising temperatures.

Hu said nations would do their part "consistent with our respective capabilities," a reference to the now widely accepted view that developing nations — even energy guzzlers like China, India and Brazil — should be required only to set goals for reining in greenhouse-gas emissions, not accept absolute targets for reducing emissions like the industrialized countries.

Nonetheless, the symbolism of the world's two largest polluters pledging no half-measures in an agreement during the Dec. 7-18 conference took the sting out of the admission by Obama and other leaders over the weekend that Copenhagen would be only a way station rather than the endpoint envisioned two years ago when negotiations for a new climate treaty began.

Obama administration officials acknowledge that the Copenhagen talks are not expected to produce a final legal agreement, putting that off until next year. The administration sought to make clear Tuesday that Obama expects the talks to produce something more than "an agreement to have an agreement" at a future date.

"We need numbers on the table in Copenhagen," said Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen, speaking to the top negotiators of 44 nations meeting for informal consultations. He said the agreement should be "concrete and binding on countries committing to reach targets, to undertake actions, and to provide agreed finance."

‘Not a partial accord’
Using language that went further than before, Obama said the aim of the summit "is not a partial accord or a political declaration, but rather an accord that covers all of the issues in the negotiations, and one that has immediate operational effect."

He said an all-encompassing agreement "would be an important step forward in the effort to rally the world around a solution to our climate challenge."

Obama did not elaborate. But the United Nations and the European Union have called for a fund of at least $10 billion annually in the next three years to help poor countries draw up plans for moving to low-carbon economies, slow deforestation and take emergency steps against the effects of climate change.

The agreement is meant to succeed the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, which required 37 industrial countries to cut emissions an average 5 percent below 1990 levels by 2012, but which made no demands on rapidly growing economies like China's.

The Copenhagen agreement would require developing countries to curb their emissions growth, but it was unclear how their plans would be enshrined in the accord and what would happen if their promises were broken.

Delay binding treaty for a year?
White House aides said Sunday that a fully binding legal agreement would be put off until a December 2010 meeting in Mexico City, even though the new agreement must be ratified and in force when the Kyoto pact expires at the end of 2012.

Together, the U.S. and China emit 40 percent of the world's greenhouse gases, and a new study said the recent growth of emissions during the economic downturn was almost entirely driven by China. Worldwide carbon emissions jumped 2 percent last year, said the study, published Tuesday in the journal Nature Geoscience, adding urgency to efforts to rein in pollution that traps the Earth's heat.

In a joint statement, Obama and Hu said Copenhagen should produce an agreement that would "include emission reduction targets of developed countries and nationally appropriate mitigation actions of developing countries."

Obama administration officials are pushing for Copenhagen negotiators to tackle specifics on the major issues such as financing for poor nations, technology cooperation and some commitments among developing nations — though not legally binding — on emission reductions.

That is what Obama was referring to when he said in Beijing that whatever comes out of Copenhagen should have "immediate operational effect," according to administration and congressional officials with knowledge of the administration's preparation for the climate talks.

U.S. President Barack Obama continues to “reach out to Muslims” by appointing them to key security posts amid charges he wrongly ignored internal Muslim terror. One recent appointee was harshly criticized for appearing on a British-based television station whose host is a member of a radical Muslim group.

President Obama has continued to “reach out Muslims,” as he said in his keynote speech in Cairo last June, and this past week he swore in a Muslim rights advocate to the Homeland Security Advisory Council, shortly after the Fort Hood massacre.

Netanyahu Quietly Rejects U.S. Clamp on Jerusalem

Bibi Rejects US Clamp on Capital
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has quietly rejected an attempt by the United States to clamp down on Israeli construction within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem. Netanyahu is not willing to publicly discuss his response to the U.S. criticism, however, nor will he allow anyone else in his government to talk about it.

"The office has no reaction to that," David Baker, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, told Israel National News on Wednesday. He refused further comment.

Baker's actions clearly confirmed reports by senior sources that Netanyahu had warned government officials against making any statements about the U.S. pressure on Israel to halt construction in parts of Jerusalem that were restored to the capital after the 1967 Six Day War -- this time, the neighborhood of Gilo, built in 1971.

The southeastern neighborhood, one of the capital's largest, has a population of some 33,000 and has just been added to the list for the first time. But the burgeoning northwestern Jerusalem suburb of Ramot, home to at least 40,000 residents, may soon be questioned as well, since it is in the same category.

During a media briefing Tuesday in Washington, U.S. State Department spokesman Ian Kelly slammed the decision by the Jerusalem Municipal Planning Committee to approve a plan to build 900 housing units in Gilo.

"At a time when we are working to relaunch negotiations, we believe that these actions make it more difficult for our efforts to succeed," he said. "So we object to this, and we object to other Israeli practices in Jerusalem related to housing, including the continuing pattern of evictions and demolitions of Palestinian homes," he said.

"And -- just to repeat what we've said all along, our position on Jerusalem is clear," Kelly added. "We believe that that -- that Jerusalem is a permanent status issue that must be resolved through negotiations between the two parties."

Kelly confirmed that U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell met Monday in London with a Netanyahu adviser. He parried a question raised by a journalist as to whether Mitchell had requested that Netanyahu halt construction in Gilo and sidestepped another question on whether that request had been rejected. Mitchell, who was expected back in Washington on Wednesday, has no plans to meet with PA officials at present, said Kelly, but did not explain why.

He also noted that the U.S. was discouraging "any kind of unilateral appeal for United Nations Security Council recognition of a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. That would fall in that category of unilateral actions."

'Red Line' Drawn at Jerusalem

Prime Minister Netanyahu has been willing to show the "greatest possible restraint" concerning construction in Judea and Samaria, according to a government source. However, he said, Netanyahu firmly drew the line at Jerusalem.

The city's mayor, Nir Barket, has also said bluntly he would not halt construction in any part of the capital, east or west. "Israeli law does not discriminate between Arabs and Jews or between east and west of the city," he said in a statement issued to the media.

"The demand to cease construction just for Jews is illegal, also in the United States and any other enlightened place in the world. It is inconceivable that the U.S. government would demand a construction freeze in the U.S. based on race, religion or sex, and the attempt to demand this from Jerusalem constitutes a double standard that is unacceptable. The Jerusalem municipality will continue to enable construction in every part of the city for Jews and Arabs alike," Barkat vowed.

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin had no compunctions whatsoever about expressing his anger on Tuesday against the U.S. attempt to interfere with internal Israeli policies. Speaking during a meeting with visiting Lithuanian Ambassador Darius Degotis, Rivlin said the new demands were "of the type that are ... pushing us toward a red line that we cannot allow ourselves to cross, and are not legitimate."

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon added his voice to the chorus of Western disapproval of the Jerusalem municipality's actions Tuesday night, according to IDF Army Radio. U.N. spokeswoman Michele Montas said in a statement that Ban "believes such actions undermine efforts for peace and cast doubt on the viability of the two-state solution." In the statement, she quoted Ban as referring to Gilo as a "settlement" built on territory "conquered from the Palestinians in 1967."

The British Foreign Office also issued a statement saying "The Foreign Secretary has been very clear that a credible deal involves Jerusalem as a shared capital. Expanding settlements on occupied land in east Jerusalem makes that deal much harder, so this decision on Gilo is wrong and we oppose it."

PA chief negotiator Saeb Erekat took advantage of the bruhaha to claim there was little point in resuming peace talks when Israel is still building homes in the eastern part of the capital. "We condemn this in the strongest possible terms. It shows that it is meaningless to resume negotiations," he said.

The land on which Gilo was built, as with the suburb of Ramot and other so-called "disputed" parts of Jerusalem, was wrested from Israel by Jordan during the 1948 War. It was occupied solely by the Hashemite Kingdom until 1967, when Israel won it back, restoring Jerusalem to its former unified status as the unidivided capital of Israel and the Jewish People.

Nat'l Union to PA: 'Make My Day'
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's recent threats to declare an independent PA state unilaterally received support from unexpected quarters Tuesday.

MK Uri Ariel of the National Union called on the PA chairman to go ahead and declare statehood as fast as possible.

"I pray for Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, to declare a state unilaterally,” he said. “That is the only way we can finally annul the wretched Oslo accord, which exacted a price in blood and brought the PLO terrorists into the State of Israel."

“A statement of this nature means that the government will have no choice but to annex all of the communities in Judea and Samaria,” said MK Ariel. “In practice,” he added, “it will have to annex the entire region and formally turn it into a part of the state of Israel.”

Abbas said recently that he intended to take the Palestinian matter to the UN Security Council.

Jews in Jerusalem have raised millions of dollars to be ready for the coming of the Messiah

The Temple Institute in Jerusalem is leading the way in preparations to build the next Temple on the Temple Mount and most of every day this organization is preparing for the arrival of the Messiah in Jerusalem.

Yehuda Glick, the Executive Director of the Temple Institute, says the Temple Institute has become a fixture of evangelical tours in Israel and that largely to their donations, the Temple Institute has spent around 27 million dollars on the preparations for the next Temple to be built in Jerusalem.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has raised the monies to make preparations for the building of the next Temple in Jerusalem and they believe that they could start building at any time, a fact that is confirmed by Bible prophecy.

For over twenty years, the Temple Institute in Jerusalem has been working to make ready everything needed to erect the next Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount. They have biblical harps, the menorah, the table of shewbread, the priestly garments, even the garments for the high priest and they know where the Ark of the Covenant is located as well. Yehuda Glick, executive director of the Temple Institute, says that we live in a day of miracles and all that is predicted in the Bible, which will happen on the eve of the end of days, could happen today or tomorrow.

Glick's statement is confirmed by Bible prophecy. Ezekiel 40-46 gives a description of the Messiah's Temple that will be built when the Messiah returns to Jerusalem. We know that because Zechariah 6:12 says that the Messiah will come back and build His Temple where He will rule and reign forever, Zechariah 6:13. However, the Bible also speaks of a Temple in Jerusalem before the Messiah's Temple as foretold in Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15, II Thessalonians 2:4 and revelation 11:1.

All preparations have been made for the next Temple to be built in Jerusalem. There's only one thing that must happen before the Temple is erected and that is the Rapture, when Jesus Christ will call all Christians into the heavens to be with Him forevermore.

Jerusalem Light Rail on Fast Track to Keep Capital United

 ‘Fast Track’ for ‘One Jerusalem‘
Jerusalem Deputy Mayor David Hadari vowed on Tuesday to derail Palestinian Authority threats of an Arab boycott of the builder of the city’s light rail system that reaches eastern Jerusalem.

Responding to PA declarations earlier in the day, Hadari described the PA threat as “scandalous.” He stated, “We will not allow the PA to interfere in such a crass way with the domestic matters of Israel in general, and of Jerusalem in particular. I think the government must block this attempt with all its means, and the city will do everything possible to strengthen ties with the contractor.”

The Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions National Committee said the light rail traverses "occupied territory" and allegedly violates international law. PA officials said they are trying to recruit Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, among other Arab countries, to boycott the French-based firms Veolia and Alstrom. The latter is also building a multi-billion dollar project in Mecca.

Hadari drew a connection between the PA’s attempted boycott and a request by the American government that Israel stop building in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Gilo, on the southern edge of the city. He said both issues are a result of what he called the “stuttering” policy of the Netanyahu government, which he said "needs to make clear to the entire world that Jerusalem is our united capital, will not be divided and is not a subject for negotiations.”

The deputy mayor suggested encouraging construction in all areas of the city with grants and benefits, "to help the world understand that we are serious in our intentions, and then they will stop interfering in our internal affairs."

Congressional News Conference Hails 5 Million 'pink Slips'

Members say message in 5-foot high stacks in each office coming through

The "pink slips" being sent to members of Congress, warning them to abandon Washington's "charge-it-and-spend-it" programs, new energy taxes under "cap-and-trade" and nationalized health care, have surged past 5 million, but supporters of the program say they need to keep coming.

Janet Porter, founder and president of Faith2Action and one of the organizers behind the "pink slips" campaign, was at a news conference today in Washington where U.S. Reps. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn.; Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; Steve King, R-Iowa; and Trent Franks, R-Ariz., hailed the effort as an innovative new vehicle for the American people to express themselves to members of Congress.

She said it's clear the message – delivered through a stack of "pink slips" now standing approximately five feet high in congressional offices – is getting through.

"They are hearing us, even those who don't want to hear. They're still listening," she told WND. "Those who are on the fence, this may give them the courage to stand up to the arm-twisting."

It's an amazing feat, to get that many slips to Congress," King told WND. "If you look through them, you can index each one back to an individual.

"That's powerful. There is a person behind each one of the slips," he said.

The number of "pink slips" is staggering, because they weren't from people who were answering a telephone poll and participating in a survey, he noted.

Each of the participants, he said, "wrote a check to send a message."

But more are needed.

"It's going to take the American people well-informed to win," he said.

5,900 New Housing Units - But None in Judea/samaria

 5,900 New Homes in Israel
In an effort to bring down housing prices, the Housing Ministry is issuing tenders for the sale of land for 5,900 units throughout the country – in addition to the 5,300 units whose sale was announced three months ago.

Housing Minister Ariel Attias (Shas) announced that the goal of the massive influx of land for housing is to bring down apartment prices.

The units are to be built in 20 different towns across the country, including Jerusalem (1,117 units), Be’er Sheva (842), Rehovot (336), Rishon LeTzion (349), Holon (358), and Tel Aviv (188). None of them are to be built in Judea and Samaria, though it was not announced whether the Jerusalem units are to be located in areas liberated in 1967 or not.

“We relate to the peripheral areas [i.e., places distant from the large urban areas -- ed as an important national target,” Attias stated, “and we plan to market new homes for reasonable prices in these areas as well.”

Israel Lands Authority (ILA) Director Yaron Bibi said, “This massive plan is part of the reforms in the ILA that were recently decided upon, and will give a strong impetus to the growth of the housing market.”

In a related item, the Jerusalem District Planning Commission approved a plan today (Tuesday) for 900 new housing units in Gilo. The units will be built on the northwestern slopes of the 33,000-strong southern Jerusalem neighborhood. The plan includes area for public buildings, open areas, and stores.
