Crisis in Contemporay Music
Feb 1st, 2012
Art Sadlier

Pop music is totally depraved and ascends right out of the pit of hell. It is filled with vulgar lyrics, profanity and vile sexual perversion. One secular writer "2011 saw so much boundary-breaking in pop that the lines seem forever pulled down."

Powers stated, “There were top 100 pop songs about sex addiction.” She documents the indescribable vileness and sexual perversion that is a part of the current pop music scene.

Those who embrace Christian Rock Music are imbibing of music from the same source. Though the lyrics maybe changed, the beat is of the same sensual source. Christian contemporary music baptises the music of the world and of the devil and brings it into the lives of Christians and into the Church.

Christian contemporary music creates a desire and an appetite for the rock music of the world. The vileness and lewdness of rock music is forever impressed upon the walls of the mind and the souls of those who hear it.

Satan is waging a battle to control the thought life of teenagers. The typical teenager listens to an average of 10,500 hours of rock music from the seventh to the tenth grade. That’s only 500 hours shy of all the time he/she spends in school from first through twelfth grade!

Do you have any idea of the fatalism that is bombarding the airwaves everyday into young people’s heads? The National Education Association estimates that a percentage of the thousands of teenage suicides we have every year are caused by the fatalistic music of today’s youth. Somebody has said, “You let me write the songs that a nation sings, and I don’t care who makes its laws.”

Christian moms and dads, this message is addressed to you. Many parents are unaware of the music their children are listening to; their souls are being poisoned behind your back.  You are the stewards that God has designated to care for the souls of His children. You cannot say I want my children to have the freedom to choose their own way, God is holding you accountable for them.

If you do not control the music of your children in this day and hour, you will lose them and their souls will be lost. The task is not only to prohibit but fill the vacuum with that which will satisfy the souls of your kids. This task will involve a great deal of effort. It will involve immersing them in music which will glorify God and bless the souls of your family. That will be a major endeavour which will cost you in time and in resources. It will also involve your control over the choice of your children’s friends. You will need the wisdom of God and the supply of His grace, but you can succeed.

If you are attending a church that has drums and guitars leave that church as fast as your feet can run. If they have not succumbed to contemporary music as yet, they will still create a desire in your kids for drums and guitars which will lead inevitably to contemporary music.

Those pastors who are bringing contemporary music into their churches are being deceived by the world and the devil. It is true that if you want to fill your church you can do it by bringing in the drums and guitars; you will soon end up with the world’s music in the church. You can then write over the door the word “Ichabod,” the Spirit of the Lord is departed, to be replaced by the spirit of the world. You will have a great crowd and be very popular, but you are no longer God’s servant. You have become the servant of the devil.

We need to be aware of lateness of the hour in which we are now living. Sodom was destroyed in the fires of God's judgment, because of its sensuality, only to be reborn in our present day culture, the fire will fall again. God is not mocked, He will ultimately judge sin

Please do not write me to defend guitars and drums and contemporary Christian music. I recognize that drums and guitars are not inherently evil. They may be fine for classical music or martial music or other forms of music, but the truth is that they are at the core of today’s pop rock music which is the essence of contemporary Christian music. The guitars and drums provide the sensual beat that creates sensual music, which is devastating to the soul.

The first rock concert is recorded in Exodus 32, as Moses came down off the mount he discovered that it was a religious leader who led the concert and led Israel into sin. Not much has changed in the intervening 3,500 years.

Crisis in the Economy

When it comes to the economy most people only believe what they want to believe, everything else is blocked out. The warning signs of a coming economic collapse are everywhere. Almost every day there are authoritative voices warning us of a coming economic disaster.

Recently the World Bank issued a very disturbing warning. In an absolutely startling report, the World Bank revised GDP growth estimates for 2012 downward very sharply, warned that Europe could be on the verge of a devastating financial crisis, and declared that the rest of the world better "prepare for the worst."

Andrew Burns, the lead author of the report, said that if the sovereign debt crisis gets even worse we could be looking at an economic crisis that could be even worse than the last one: "An escalation of the crisis would spare no-one. Developed- and developing-country growth rates could fall by as much or more than in 2008/09."

In yet another news item we read, “The European Central Bank should ramp up its buying of troubled euro zone debt to support Italy and prevent a "cataclysmic" collapse of the euro, David Riley, the head of sovereign ratings for Fitch, has warned. Speaking to investors as part of a European road show, Mr. Riley said a collapse of the euro would be disastrous for the global economy, and while it is not Fitch's baseline scenario, it could happen if Italy did not find a way out of its debt problems.”

•            The chorus of voices warning of financial chaos is growing by the hour. Here are a few quotes from a recent Bloomberg article.

•            John Mauldin, president of Millennium Wave Advisors: "We've got a cancer. That cancer is debt"

•            Mark Spitznagel of Universal Investments: "Too much mal-investment has been kept alive, and history shows an inevitable wipeout, which started in 2000."

•            Michael Panzner of Financial Armageddon: "The fundamental outlook is even worse now than it was a few weeks ago, given (the lack of positive) developments in Europe and growing evidence that the economies of major countries around the world are deteriorating fast."

•            Another warning comes from Joseph Stiglitz, “The days of the US dollar as a global currency, with its overarching charisma as a brand to measure everything from hamburger prices to trade between remote nations could be on the wane, says Nobel-prize winning Joseph Stiglitz. Stiglitz expects a new world reserve system to evolve at the next meeting of the G-20 group of the world’s leading economies.

In China we learn, “A looming hard landing in China will bring the financial and economic crisis of the past five years to a climax in 2012, one of the City of London's leading analysts has warned.”

You do not have to be a financial wizard to see what lies ahead; the flashing red lights are everywhere.

What should we all be looking for next?

March 20th is a key date to watch. That is the day when Greece will either makes its 14.5 billion euro bond payment or it will default.

Greece does not have any hope of making that payment without help from the EU and the IMF. If Greece can reach a satisfactory deal with private bondholders, then the coming Greek default might be "orderly". But if something goes wrong, the coming Greek default might be quite "disorderly".

Almost everyone in the financial world is anticipating a Greek default of one form or another....

•            Edward Parker, the managing director for Fitch's sovereign and supranational group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, recently declared that a Greek default is inevitable.... "It is going to happen. Greece is insolvent so it will default."

•            Moritz Kraemer, the head of S&P's European sovereign ratings unit, made the following statement on Bloomberg Television recently. "Greece will default very shortly. Whether there will be a solution at the end of the current rocky negotiations I cannot say."

•            Richard McGuire, a strategist at Dutch bank Rabobank, was recently quoted by CNBC as saying the following.... "People often ask if Greece is going to default which ... is a misnomer because Greece is (already) defaulting"

•            Diane Swonk, the chief economist at Mesirow Financial in Chicago, says that the default by Greece will probably be an "orderly" one but that the situation could change at any moment.... "It appears at the moment that the market is accepting a Greek default as inevitable, and it will be an orderly default. But that can change on a dime."

Whether there is a default or not, the reality is that Greece is already experiencing a full-blown economic depression. In Greece, 20 percent of all retail stores have already shut down. The unemployment rate for those under the age of 24 is now at 39 percent. Large numbers of Greeks are trying to get themselves and their money out of the country while they still can.

Pessimism regarding Greece is at an all-time high. Michael Fuchs, the deputy leader of Angela Merkel's political party, recently made the following statement.... "I don't think that Greece, in its current condition, can be saved."

In Greece we learn that, “Children are being abandoned on Greece's streets by their poverty-stricken families who cannot afford to look after them anymore. Youngsters are being dumped by their parents who are struggling to make ends meet in what is fast becoming the most tragic human consequence of the Euro crisis.”

Italy has a much larger economy, and if Italy totally collapses it will be an absolute nightmare for the entire globe.

Right now, the Bank of Italy is forecasting a significant recession for the Italian economy in 2012. The following is from a statement that Bank of Italy has just released.... "The uncertainty that surrounds the medium-term perspectives of the Italian economy ... are extraordinarily high and are directly linked to the evolution of the euro zone debt crisis".

Italy's youth unemployment rate is at the highest level ever, and nearly all sectors of the Italian economy are showing signs of slowing down.

Plus there is the problem of Italian debt. When, you add the maturing debt that the Italian government must roll over in 2012 to their projected budget deficit, it comes to 23.1 percent of Italy's GDP.

The economic problems have spread to a number of other European countries. Much of Europe is in the grip of an economic depression.

Spain, Portugal, Ireland are in depression and in Eastern Europe countries like Hungry, Romania, and Bulgaria are in the grip of depression.

The troubling news out of Europe just seems to keep coming in waves. Here are some more recent examples....

•            Manufacturing activity in the euro zone has fallen for five months in a row.

•            Germany's economy actually contracted during the 4th quarter of 2011.

•            It is being reported that the Spanish economy contracted during the 4th quarter of 2011.

Bad loans in Spain recently hit a 17-year high and the unemployment rate is at a 15-year high.

So will all of this economic trouble eventually spread to the United States? The answer is yes.

The global economy is more interconnected today than ever. Back in 2008 the financial crisis that started on Wall Street ended up devastating economies all over the planet. The same thing will happen during this next great financial crisis.

Only this time the U.S. is in a much weaker position. The U.S. debt problem has gotten much worse since the last crisis. During 2008, the national debt crossed the 10 trillion dollar mark. Less than 4 years later, it has crossed the 15 trillion dollar mark.

Nearly half of all Americans live in a household that receives some form of financial benefits from the U.S. government.

We are headed full speed to a catastrophic financial disaster, the signs are everywhere but eyes are closed to the danger.  We believe that this coming economic crisis will be used as a tool to bring about the infrastructure of a one world economic system, a one world monetary system, and a world government that will eventually follow it.

This whole monetary and economic crisis is pressing in on the world, and will, it seems, unfold in the near future.

Everywhere we look we see crisis situations that are coming to a head. Whether in America, Europe, Syria, Egypt, the West Bank, Iran, or Israel, the end time scenarios are coming to a climax.

The coming of the Lord is drawing nigh!

Crisis in the Mid-east
Feb 1st, 2012
Art Sadlier

As Iran rushes toward nuclear weapons the pressure is on Israel to attack Iran and neutralize its nuclear program. The US administration has repeatedly stated that they will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons. The problem is that they continue to push a failed program of sanctions against Iran in effort to persuade Iran to abandon its nuclear program.

The oil embargo obviously will not work. China, Russia and India are the major purchasers of Iranian oil and they will not take part in the embargo. The EU is also a major purchaser of Iranian oil, they have agreed to an embargo but they are delaying it until July which may be too late. Iran will probably find other buyers by that time.

There are many conflicting reports circulating. Some are claiming that neither Israel, nor America will attack Iran this year. Former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi warned, Thursday, January 26, that Israel should prepare itself for war.  Other reports from reliable sources indicate that an attack from Israel is imminent.

Debkafile has reported that the Americans are engaged in the largest military build up in the Mideast since the Iraq war, and that a strike will come this spring.  Sources estimate from the current pace of arrivals on two island bases in the Persian Gulf; that 50,000 US troops will have accumulated on Socotra and Masirah islands by mid-February. They will top up the 50,000 military already present in the Persian Gulf region, so that in less than a month, Washington will have some 100,000 military personnel on the spot and available for any contingency.

The US military presence in the region has further expanded with three US aircraft carriers and their strike groups plus a French carrier in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea. A fourth US carrier will be standing by in the Indian Ocean, a few days' sailing time from the water off Iran's coast. That represents incredible military might.

It is clear from the end time scriptural scenario that Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons, or at the least not use them. How this will all work out we cannot be certain. It could be that Iran will be neutralized by an attack or that the war of Psalm 83 will interrupt Iran’s plans.

It is much easier to see the broad outline of coming events than it is to understand the time frame, and the details.

The clearly declared goal of Iran is two-fold.

First - Wipe Israel off the map.

This will not happen. Their serious attempt at this objective will come during the war of Ezekiel 38-39 which will happen early in the tribulation period, and will fail.

Second - Create a cataclysmic war which will bring on the return of the Mahdi, the Islamic saviour.

As we understand the scriptural end time scenario, the war of Psalm 83 is next major war for Israel (read about it also in Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 35-36). The stage is now set for that war to unfold. Iran will not be involved in that war. That war will be fought by Hamas, Hezbollah, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.

This war would bring about the total demise of these antagonists of Israel. “Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm” (Psalm 83:12-15). That will cause the Arabs to be open toward a peace treaty.

We believe that will be the peace treaty of Antichrist. It will be facilitated by the fact that Antichrist will deceive Israel into believing that he is Israel’s Messiah. He will also deceive Islam into believing that he is Islam’s saviour, their Mahdi. At the same time all of Christendom will actually believe that Antichrist is the true Christ.

It seems from Revelation 6:2 that this peace treaty will involve universal disarmament.

The question is what would persuade the nations of the world to disarm and to believe the deception of Antichrist?

I believe the answer is to be found in the situation prior to the peace treaty. From Matthew 24 and other scriptures we see a world which has descended into total chaos prior to the peace treaty. That is why that after the peace treaty the world will cry “peace and safety” as Paul says in Thessalonians.

We have the potential for such chaos to unfold in our world now. We have four potential scenarios now waiting in the wings to happen.

1.           THE WAR OF PSALM 83: the scenario is now set for this war to take place. There is the potential for the use of chemical and biological weapons and even the potential for the use nuclear weapons. If Israel’s survival is in jeopardy through the use of chemical and biological weapons, Israel could use nuclear weapons; in fact they have already threatened Syria about this matter.

2.           POTENTIAL WAR BETWEEN CHINA AND INDIA:  this would be a repeat of the war of 1962. Some are forecasting such a war to be on the near horizon. Some are forecasting this war will take place as early as this summer. News reports are detailing a simmering border dispute between these two major powers.

3.           POTENTIAL FOR WORLD-WIDE MONETARY AND ECONOMIC COLLAPSE: the signs of this coming event are everywhere. Such an event would throw the world into the flames of civil strife, with rioting and rebellion and chaos in the streets of the world.

4.           POTENTIAL FOR ALL OUT WAR IN THE MUSLIM WORLD BETWEEN THE SUNNI AND SHIITE CAMPS: the Saudis and the Iranians would be the leading factions. The Saudis have already ordered aircraft that will excel the numbers and quality of the Israeli air force. They are also making plans, with China’s help, to obtain nuclear weapons.

The Saudis are threatened by Iran as Iran seeks to gain the leadership of the Muslim world through military means. It is now reported by debkafile that the Saudi’s are moving troops to the Gulf coast to protect against an attack from Iran. Iran is angry with the Saudis because they have promised to produce more oil to compensate for the embargo of Iranian oil.

It is also reported that there are new deployments of the armies of Gulf Cooperation Council states. They are moving into position in expectation of a military confrontation with Iran.

It was reported on January 26, that the expectation is that Iran will attempt sporadic closures of the Straits of Hormuz. The reaction of Washington is unknown at this point, but it seems the prospect of war is growing by the day.

It seems to me that men and nations are now no longer in control, higher powers are moving these men and nations like pieces on a chess board. Logic no longer enables us to figure out what is about to happen.

Many are saying that if Iran is attacked it will trigger a major war in the Mideast which may bring about the war of Psalm 83.

The world seems to stand on the brink of a cataclysm.  Such a situation would be the ideal time for a super leader to appear on the scene and bring about a miraculous peace and an economic recovery. Throw in a few signs and wonders and you have the world falling at his feet.

In 2 Thessalonians 2:9 we read that Satan is active in this great last days deception. “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.” In verse 11 we discover that God is also active in causing this deception. “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.”

We have modern day examples of massive deception,  examples  of the deception that will soon fall over the entire world. An example of how the world can be deceived is found in the recent claim of the Obama administration and others that the climate is becoming warmer and warmer because of increasing CO 2 in the atmosphere. The London telegraph in an article on December 12, 2011, stated in bold headlines: “Climate Change, the Worst Scientific Scandal of Our Generation”.

An editorial in the Washington Times on the November 20, 2011, edition was headed, “A Climate of Fraud.” It indicated that the climate change fraud was the biggest lie ever perpetuated upon the human race.

The situation is set for the deception of the coming Antichrist. Deception is the mark of the whole end time scenario; we see it growing all around us. Tragically we see the evangelical church caught up in deception, deception that is plunging many into apostasy.

It is at this point, after the rapture of the body of Christ, that the world church comes on the scene to assist in the peace plan, being deceived and deceiving. We see the portrayal of this scenario in Revelation 17; it is the union of this false church and the revived Roman Empire.

“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns” (Revelation 17:3).

The Day of the Lord is at hand, now is the day of salvation, come to Christ before that awful day begins.

Return to Gilgal
Feb 1st, 2012
Art Sadlier

When Israel passed over Jordan and began the campaign to conquer the Land of Promise, they encamped at Gilgal. Gilgal would be their base camp until the campaign was over. After each series of battles they would return to Gilgal. At Gilgal they would be refreshed.

Years later Samuel made it a practice to return to Gilgal and on occasion when the nation faced a crisis they would return to Gilgal for renewal and strength and assurance. “Then said Samuel to the people, Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there” (1 Samuel 11:14).

In every generation the church faces a peculiar challenge unique to that hour. The body of Christ has faced some awesome trials, sometimes persecution unto death. Today the remnant of the church of Jesus Christ is facing an awesome test; it is the danger of deception which is leading many to become apostate.

We as the body of Christ are facing a crisis hour. All around us we see the slain of the Lord. We see those who have fallen prey to deception, worshipping in the flesh with the sensual music of the world and the people of the world.  The world has been brought into the church and Christ is outside the church. “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.                                        Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:19-20).

Here we see Christ outside the Laodicean Church of this present hour, knocking to get in.

We have a new Christianity which is a counterfeit Christianity and it is all driven by the excitement of the flesh, leaving the worshippers with a false sense of spiritual satisfaction.

What ought we to do in this hour of trial that has befallen us? What are we to do as we see the church all around us dying. I believe we need return to our Gilgal.

I want you to see seven things Israel found at Gilgal.

First - They found the place of Sanctification

And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore, the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day” (Joshua 5:9).

Israel had been sanctified, saved, as they left Egypt 40 years earlier. They had been washed in the blood of the Passover lamb which was a type of the true Lamb of God which was yet, at that time, to come.

They had been sanctified in their position but as they entered into their wilderness journey they lost their practical sanctification. In the wilderness they had succumbed to unbelief and disobedience.

As they came to the Jordan and were about to enter the Canaan land of victorious living, they were circumcised. The reproach of the old life was rolled away, and they were sanctified. We see this illustrated in the life of Peter in John 13:8, where Jesus said to his disciple, “Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.” God only uses sanctified, clean vessels.

As they faced the battles that God was calling them to fight they had to turn their backs on the old life and be totally committed to their God. Sanctified and fit for the Master’s use.

We need to make a new commitment of our lives to Christ and vow afresh to enter the warfare, walking with Him in holiness and purity. This is essential if we are to escape defeat and walk in victory.

SecondThey heard afresh and claimed anew the Promises of God

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Joshua 1:3-5).

There they heard and claimed the promises of God. As we face the deception and flood of apostasy that is all around us, we only have one ground to stand upon, it is the solid ground of the promises of God. With them ringing in our ears and lodged firmly in our hearts and minds we will triumph over all the assaults launched against us. When I know and believe that God is for me, no one can stand against me, I will triumph.

We need to go back to the Gilgal of the promises of God. Let us be honest and admit that we have often forgotten the promises of our God and become discouraged and defeated. Believer, remember the promises of God. We can stand victoriously upon them.

ThirdThey made a place of Worship

“And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho” (Joshua 5:10).

Israel remembered what God had done for them in the past and they worshipped the Lord as they remembered. We are saved to be worshippers of God. That will be our eternal occupation and that is to be our preoccupation in the present hour and in all the days of our lives. Out of worship comes a renewed love for the Lord and a renewed devotion to Him.

Let us worship Him in the quiet place of solitude and then in the congregation of the saints. Out of that devotion will come a new sense of the love of God upon our lives. Then our services become rich and meaningful. Let us catch again the spirit of worship we had in days gone by.

Israel was not ready for the battle until they had worshipped God. Have we somehow forgotten how to worship God, not only in corporate fellowship but in our daily lives and personal experience? We never will be triumphant until and unless we learn to worship. We need to go back to the place of true worship.

Fourth They returned to the place of the New Life and the place of Separation

And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day” (Joshua 5:11).

They were called to feed upon the meat of the Word instead of the milk of the manna they had eaten in the wilderness wanderings. “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13).

Israel was called to a whole new life when they entered the Promised Land. They were called to a new diet, a new warfare, a new separation from the world around them. “And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes: for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt” (Exodus 13:16). They were called out of the world. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17).

They were to be a peculiar people, different from all the people around them. This is often a terrible sticking point for God`s people, they do not want to be different, but that is the essence of what we are called to be.

It is at precisely this point that New Evangelicalism was born. New Evangelicals reject separation, separation from apostasy and separation from the world. Because of that they are rejected of the Lord.  Are you a New Evangelical? Check your separation and you will have the answer.

We need to return to our Gilgal, to return to the new life and renew our separation if we are to escape the deception of this present hour.

Fifth - They returned to the place of the Divine Presence

And he said, nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so” (Joshua 5:14-15).

Before Joshua could lead Israel in triumph he had to have an encounter with God. In that encounter he received new sense of the presence of God. He received a new sense of God’s greatness and a sense of the fear of God. The Lord is our precious Saviour nearer than hands or breathing. He is out intimate Friend; but we also need to have a sense of the fear of God, these two attitudes go hand in hand, but the fear of God and a sense of His holy presence are vital if we would know His work on our behalf. “For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word” (Isaiah 66:2).

SixthWe need to return to the place of first Victory

So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city” (Joshua 6:20).

In the years that followed Israel would return to Gilgal and remember the tremendous victory God gave them over Jericho. They learned through that victory that nothing is impossible with God. With those memories fresh in their minds and hearts they would go on to new triumphs. Believer, think of the great victories God has given you in the past. Think of the amazing, incredible things God has done for you. Think of the victorious salvation He has obtained for you. With those memories fresh in your mind and heart go forth in faith to triumph again in His strength and power.

SeventhWe need to return to the Place of Power

And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them anymore, because of the children of Israel” (Joshua 5:1).

How we have lost power in our service and our lives! Christianity; in the New Testament, and in the lives of those who glorified God all down through the church age; is a demonstration of power. Only in the Apostolic age was the power demonstrated in signs and wonders, ever since it has been a demonstration of inner spiritual power that has impacted the lives of multitudes.

It is a contradiction of Christianity to live and serve and minister without the mighty power of God upon your life and on your ministry and on your church.

Neither dead orthodoxy, nor the zeal of the flesh can give what only God can give, and desires us to have.

We are living in an hour of crisis for the remnant that has not fallen into apostasy. We need to go back to our roots, back to our Gilgal.

Summary of the News
Feb 1st, 2012
Art Sadlier

Iran – There seems to be a growing consensus that Iran is moving rapidly closure to the point when it will be too late to attack her nuclear program.

The USS Ponce helicopter marine carrier is being refitted for deployment by May in the Persian Gulf as a floating base for US Navy Seals. They will be tasked with the job of neutralizing Iran’s missile carrying speedboats and Iran’s attempts mine the Strait of Hormuz. Debkafile has suggested this as a probable date for an American confrontation with Iran.

Debkafile has suggested that Iran will not attempt to shut down the Straits altogether but rather gradually slow down the traffic on oil tankers.

In the meantime there is a massive build-up of American military might in the Gulf with a total of four US aircraft carriers and one French carrier. American forces at the Gulf bases are now approaching the hundred thousand mark, that double in just a few months.

Saudi Arabia - The Saudi’s have on order a large number of the latest military aircraft, this would give them greater power than the Israeli Air Force. The short term objective is to prepare for war with Iran.

Saudi armoured forces have now been stationed at the main junctions of the pipelines and pumping stations and its air force and navy put on a state of alert. This week, DEBKA-Net-Weekly's military sources report, Saudi Arabia began deploying its military in the kingdom's oil regions in the east opposite the Persian Gulf.

In another development, as China has opted to purchase more oil from the Saudis, Saudi Arabia and China quietly signed a nuclear cooperation Monday, Jan. 15. A deal in which China will assist the Saudis in developing nuclear weapons to counter Iran.

The possibility of a Sunni - Shiite war seems to be increasing, with Sunni Saudi Arabia versus Shiite Iran.

Israel – It is reported that the Israeli’s are willing to give up 92-94% of Judea and Samaria which would include giving up sovereignty over the Jordan valley. This is a climax of Jewish unbelief which will bring the chastening of God down upon Jewish heads. Their God has promised them that He would give them the whole land as an everlasting possession. God said to Israel of old, go in and possess the land, I am with you and will give it to you. Israel is still living in unbelief and disobedience.

The pressure on Israel to give up the land is coming from all sides, 131 nations have now recognized the Palestinians right to the West Bank on the lines of the 1967 borders. That strips Israel of all of Judea and Samaria and biblical (east) Jerusalem, leaving Israel defenceless.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon on Sunday, January 22, called for an end to Israeli "occupation" in the Arab world. He added that, “The Israeli occupation of Arab and Palestinian territories must end.”

Russia – The Russians stated recently that an attack on Iran will be considered as an attack on Moscow. The Russians have just concluded the largest military training exercises in many years; they have indicated that the purpose was to be ready to help Iran. They have also sent an aircraft carrier and a destroyer to a Syrian port on the Mediterranean. It would certainly seem that this coming super leader is waiting in the wings for his dramatic and sudden appearance.

Egypt – We now know what the lower house of Egypt’s parliament will be like. Close to 50 percent of the seats will be held by the Muslim Brotherhood. Another 25 percent will be held by the al-Nour party of Salafists. With 75 percent, the two Islamist parties will be able to do as they please.

The peace treaty with Israel is sure to be terminated, and Hamas will receive support and encouragement.
