Over the past number of years I have been writing articles and producing radio programs in an attempt to urge evangelical Christians to wake up and see the light. Many Bible-believing Christians who were once concerned about false teaching and apostasy seem to have lost their passion for the truth and have little discernment. Instead of standing firm against unbiblical ideas and experiences, they now are promoting them

It is amazing to see the progress made in the past few years as the vast majority of churches that were once evangelical move towards an ecumenical unity with Rome. There was a time when evangelical Christians were sensitive to what makes Roman Catholicism, Roman Catholicism. Not so today. The Emerging Church Movement, along with the idea that Christian unity must happen at any cost, has opened the door for a global ecumenical movement that has no biblical boundaries.

A statement by Dwight Longenecker, a convert to Catholicism who was brought up in an evangelical home and is now the editor of The Path to Rome: Modern Journeys to the Roman Catholic Church, will help summarize what has happened over the past few decades:

While Evangelicalism and Catholicism have been traditional enemies, there are many signs on both sides of the Atlantic that a significant shift is happening in both communities. Old boundaries are dissolving, old prejudices dying out and old doctrinal disputes seem increasingly irrelevant. Together Evangelicals and Catholics are recognizing a shared social concern.

What Longenecker has stated is true. Working together for a common social cause has become the banner that has brought many evangelical Protestants together with Rome. Doctrinal differences with regard to salvation have been forgotten in order to form political alliances and programs that promise to make planet earth a better place to live in the future.

Longenecker also accurately points out that this present ecumenical phenomenon is largely the result of a plan that originated in Rome and is sanctioned by the pope. He states:

The Pope calls for all Christians to [a] profound conversion of heart in order for ecumenism to take place.…He calls Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants to move [forward] into a new reformation of the Church.…In an encyclical that should be read by all Christians, the Pope calls the whole church to join in [a] quest for a new kind of Christianity in which all Christians can once more unite.

The term “new kind of Christianity” is very familiar in light of the propaganda being promoted by Emerging Church proponents. This is exactly what Brian Mc Laren and others have been calling for. It’s the Church on the Other Side. It’sThe Secret Message of Jesus that is changing the very definition of what it means to be an evangelical.

As well, the idea that a “new reformation” is in the process of taking place is another battle cry of Emergent promoters. The Reformation was a time in church history when Christianity was led out of darkness into light. This so-called new reformation is leading Christianity out of the light back into the darkness.

In fact, this “new kind of Christianity” brought about by the new reformation is no reformation at all. It is the apostasy that the Bible warns will take place in the last days that will deceive the whole world in the name of the Jesus Christ.

But there is more! Longenecker further explains how the Roman Catholic New Evangelization program has benefited from programs implemented by “evangelical” groups and their “evangelism” programs:

While Scott Hahn, Patrick Madrid, and others work as converts to Catholicism, the Catholic Church is learning from Evangelicals in other ways. In the United States, England and Latin America, Catholics are learning how to do primary evangelism using an adapted form of the highly successful, Evangelical Anglican “Alpha” course which originates from Holy Trinity, Brompton. Through this course and other resources, modern lay Catholics are learning to understand and communicate their faith with an open-ness and zeal unheard of before.

I find this statement amazing. Before Pope John Paul II died, Nicky Gumbel, founder of the Alpha program, went to Rome and met with the pope. The pope and Gumbel agreed to a partnership to “evangelize together.” While some may believe that the Alpha program will evangelize Roman Catholics to the gospel according to the Scriptures, I can assure you that the Vatican’s idea of evangelism is to win converts to the Roman Catholic Church and the Roman Catholic Jesus. The new evangelists who have made Rome their home provide all the evidence we need to prove this point.

The Jesuit program to win back the “separated brethren” to the Roman Catholic Church appears to be more successful every day. The results of the Reformation are being reversed by the “new reformation” promoted by the Emerging Church.

I’m not an alarmist; I’m a realist. I also believe Bible prophecy is inspired by God and is one hundred per cent accurate. When the Bible foretells there will be a strong delusion in the last days and that many will be deceived in the name of Christ, I take this seriously.

The Roman Empire Returns

2600 years ago God gave King Nebuchadnezzar a prophetic vision. Daniel gave the king the interpretation of the vision. Daniel said there would be four great world kingdoms; Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon would be the first kingdom, followed by Medo-Persia, Greece and Rome. The facts of history reveal this prophecy was fulfilled in great detail, confirming God’s Word to be what it claims to be, the very Word of the Sovereign Lord of the Universe Who knows the end from the beginning.

The key verse is Daniel 2:28, “There is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets”, a God of prophecy who makes known, “what shall be in the latter days”, this prophecy is about what will happen in the latter days, our day.

The prophecy tells us that gentile world powers will dominate the world while Israel is set aside and they will continue to do so until Israel is restored to supremacy. This will happen at the beginning of the millennium, when Christ rules on the throne in Jerusalem.

These gentile world powers would span the time from 586 BC, until Armageddon and the second coming. This is referred as the “Times of the Gentiles”. Rome, though it was broken in 476 AD, continued to exist until the middle of the 20th century.

In the late 1940’s, almost simultaneously, two things happened.

FIRST -- the rebirth of Israel. SECOND-- the revival of the Roman Empire, with the signing of, “The treaty of Rome”.

In Daniel 7:7, we have a description of Rome. In Daniel 2:40, he tells us what would happen to Rome, “as iron breaketh all these”, that is what Rome did as it came to power in the first century, it destroyed all the nations around it. Then notice, “shall it break in pieces and bruise”, the Roman Empire would break up. The fulfillment of this vision began in 486 BC, however fragments would continue for a long time, symbolized by the long legs in Nebuchadnezzar’s vision.

Rome continued in the form of the empires of the British, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Belgium and Dutch. These are all former territories of the Roman Empire, each with vast colonial empires. They were sub-Roman empires. The verse says, “break in pieces and bruise”, this bruising took place after WWII when this Roman colonial system was broken up and these nations were forced to give up their colonies all around the world. The Roman Empire was dead.

At that very point in 1958 the EU was born, as the Treaty of Rome was signed. The EU today states very emphatically that it is the Revived Roman Empire. Actually the EU is the embryonic form of the Revived Roman Empire which will not actually come into being until the antichrist comes to assume his leadership.

With Israel back in the land and the Roman Empire revived the stage is set for God to begin dealing with Israel again, where He left off dealing with her in the first century.

In Daniel 7:7, we read about the revived Roman Empire, “and it had 10 horns”, the beast with 10 horns represents the RRE (Revived Roman Empire), as do the 10 toes of Daniel’s vision.

In Daniel 7:24 we read, “And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings which shall arise” This teaches us that someday 10 kings will arise out of the old Roman Empire. The fact that the horns were out of the head of the 4th beast indicates which they are part of Rome, a latter day revival of the Roman Empire.

The language of verses 8, 20, and 24 implies that the 10 rulers rule in their 10 kingdoms simultaneously. This has never happened in history and must come to pass. 10 kings ruling 10 kingdoms on the territory of the old Roman Empire.

In verse 24 we read, “And another shall arise”, the one who arises and subdues 3 kings is antichrist, the beast.

The RRE lasts 3 ½ years and then gives way to the world wide kingdom of antichrist. Rev. 17:12 tells us of the RRE, “receive power one hour with the beast”, that is a short time for a kingdom, one hour.

Notice the transition in Verse 13, “These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast”. After 3 ½ years the 10 kings will give their power to antichrist.

The duration of 3 ½ years is given in verse 25, “a time and times and a dividing of time”.

THE SCENARIO: After the church is raptured the RRE will flash suddenly on the scene. The 10 rulers will appear and share their power with antichrist for 3 ½ years. This is why they haven’t appeared on the scene as yet, they are limited to 3½ years. What is happening now in the EU is but preparation! It won’t come together until the tribulation period begins, remember:

1. The RRE will not appear on the scene until after the church is raptured.

2. The RRE will only last 3½ years.

3. The RRE will give way to the expanding world-wide kingdom of antichrist, (Rev. 17:13) which will last for 3½ years.

SIGNS OF THE SOON COMING APPEARANCE OF ANTICHRIST:

After 2600 years the prophecies of Daniel about the RRE and the kingdom of antichrist are falling perfectly into place. The EU now has nearly 500 million citizens and they are being welded into one empire with one set of judges, one set of laws, one Supreme Court and one army.

There are now 27 countries in the EU. They have been planning for some time to divide into economic zones. Perhaps these will be the basis for the 10 kings which will appear after the rapture.

Today there is a strong and persistent call to elect a permanent president who will be given great power to lead the union. The man who first fills that office may or may not be the antichrist but the office of antichrist is being prepared for him.

Today the EU is moving to fill the role of negotiator in the mid-east, filling the vacuum that America seems about to leave. It is out of the RRE that antichrist will come to sign the peace treaty according the scriptures.

Today the EU seems headed toward economic supremacy in the world. The US is losing its role of dominance while China is also in deep economic trouble with the falling off of American trade. The World Bank has reported that the EU has a GDP of 13.5 billion dollars, surpassing the US GDP of 12.4 billion dollars. The Euro dollar has surpassed the US dollar in currency circulation.

When the 27 countries of the EU place their armies under a central command, it will be the world’s largest army.

THE PERPETUAL LACK OF UNITY IN THE EU: John says, “And the toes of the feet were part of iron and part of clay, so the kingdom was partly strong and partly broken” (verse 42). In verse 43 the idea of lack of unity in the RRE is emphasized. Nations will try to come together but they will have no unity of purpose. This has been the story of the EU for the last 50 years, partly strong and partly broken. They cannot agree on a constitution, they cannot agree on a leader. They are weak because of disunity. Dan. 7:24 tells us about a leader who will come and by force bring unity, ”and another shall arise after them, and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings”. Someday, maybe soon, a European leader will arise who will take control of the EU, will bring unity to the EU. This will be the antichrist.

The EU is looking, more and more, like it is poised to fulfill the role of the Revived Roman Empire in becoming the beast of Rev. 13 & 17.

Our world is rushing toward a global economy, a new world order, a world church, a peace treaty for Israel and a kingdom for antichrist.

Before that happens the church will be called home, are you ready?

Christian, prophetic revelation leaves you with a tremendous responsibility! You are to be a watchman on the wall. You are to sound the trumpet. “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound the alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand”, Joel 2:1.

“I know not in what watch He comes,

or in what season of the year,

I only know that He is near”.

True Faith Brings Committal

We can prove our faith by our committal to it, and in no other way. Any belief that does not command the one who holds it is not a real belief; it is a pseudo belief only. And it might shock some of us profoundly if we were brought suddenly face to face with our beliefs and forced to test them in the fires of practical living.

Many of us Christians have become extremely skilful in arranging our lives so as to admit the truth of Christianity without being embarrassed by its implications. We arrange things so that we can get on well enough without divine aid, while at the same time ostensibly seeking it. We boast in the Lord but watch carefully that we never get caught depending on Him. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Pseudo faith always arranges a way out to serve in case God fails it. Real faith knows only one way and gladly allows itself to be stripped of any second way or makeshift substitutes. For true faith, it is either God or total collapse. And not since Adam first stood up on the earth has God failed a single man or woman who trusted Him …

… For each of us the time is surely coming when we shall have nothing but God. Health and wealth and friends and hiding places will all be swept away and we shall have only God. To the man of pseudo faith that is a terrifying thought, but to real faith it is one of the most comforting thoughts the heart can entertain.

It would be a tragedy indeed to come to the place where we have no other but God and find that we had not really been trusting God during the days of our earthly sojourn. It would be better to invite God now to remove every false trust, to disengage our hearts from all secret hiding places and to bring us out into the open where we can discover for ourselves whether or not we actually trust Him. That is a harsh cure for our troubles, but it is a sure one.

In Dec. 2007 we printed the following story from backtothebiblebelievers.com: The following events paint a picture of hypocrisy and hostility against Israel and defiance against the Word of God, beginning with President George H. Bush in 1991. Immediately following these political assaults against Israel; occur some of the most catastrophic disasters in the history of the United States. To ascribe the disasters at these precise hours as coincident or random chance breaks the sound barrier of statistical probability. The possibility of these many major catastrophes happening by haphazard chance at these precise times is simply impossible.

30-Oct-91 The Oslo Accord President George H. Bush promoted and proudly signed the infamous Oslo Accord at the Madrid Peace Conference on 30-Oct-91. The Oslo Accord was labeled a “Land for Peace” accord which demanded Israel award their land to the Palestinian murderers and terrorists in exchange for peace. The perverse Oslo proposition was simple: give us your land and we will stop killing you.

31-Oct-91 The Perfect Storm Hits A very rare huge storm starting in the north Atlantic. This storm was so unusual and contrary to “mother nature” it was immortalized by the book “The Perfect Storm” by Sebastian Junger. Interestingly, one of the first places the Perfect Storm hit was Kennebunkport, Maine. Waves over 30 foot demolished the home of guess who – President George H. Bush, the instigator of the Oslo Accord.

23-Aug-92 - Madrid “Land for Peace” A year later, President Bush literally picked up the pieces from Oslo attempting to rob Israel again. Meeting in Washington D.C., Bush and crew again attempted to “sell” the fictitious Madrid “Land for Peace” agreement.

24-Aug-92 Hurricane Andrew Visits Florida Hurricane Andrew smashes and crashes into Florida. Andrew causes over $30 billion in damage while destroying over 180,000 homes. At that time, Andrew was the worst natural disaster ever to hit America.

16-Jan-94 Clinton meets with Assad President Clinton meets with terrorist and Israel hater Syria’s President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement with Israel that includes Israel giving up the Golan Heights.

17-Jan-94 6.9 Earthquake In less than 24 hours, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks Southern California. This mysterious quake centered in Northridge, is the second most destructive natural disaster to hit the United States, after Hurricane Andrew.

21-Jan-98 Netanyahu Snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Clinton at the White House and is coldly received. Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Allbright refuse to have lunch with him.

21-Jan-98 Monica Lewinsky Scandal After Clinton’s rejection of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, later the very same day, the Monica Lewinsky scandal breaks out, destroying the Clinton presidency and resulting in his impeachment.

28-Sep-98 More Land for Peace Secretary of State Madeleine Allbright finishes the final details of an agreement which requires Israel to surrender 13% of Yesha (Judah and Samaria). President Bill Clinton meets with Yasser Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to finalize another Israel “land for peace” hoodwink. Later, Arafat addresses the United Nations and declares an independent Palestinian state by May 1999.

28-Sep-98 – Hurricane George Hurricane George blasts the Gulf Coast with 110 mph winds and gusts up to 175 mph. The hurricane hit the coast and stalled until the agreement was finalized and Arafat addressed the UN. Then it hit and caused $1 billion in damage. At the exact time that Arafat departs the US, the storm begins to dissipate.

15-Oct-98 Netanyahu Talks Arafat and Netanyahu meet at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland. The talks are scheduled to last five days with the focus on Israel giving up 13% of Yesha. The talks are extended and conclude on October 23.

17-Oct-98 Tornadoes hit Texas On October 17 heavy storms and tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is deluged with rain. The rain and flooding in Texas continue until October 22 and then subside. The floods ravage 25% of Texas and leave over one billion dollars in damage. On October 21 Clinton declares this section of Texas a major disaster area.

08-Jun-01 “Roadmap to Peace” President George W. Bush sends Secretary Tenet to Jerusalem to promote his “Roadmap to Peace”the continuation of the failed Oslo Accord.

08-Jun-01 Tropical Storm Allison Tropical storm Allison hits Texas, the home state of President George W. Bush. Allison causes over $7 billion in damage and closes George Bush Airport for two days. Allison continues for five long days. When Tenet leaves Jerusalem, Allison settles down.

The following series of events during August and September of 2001 preceded history’s deadliest terrorist attack.

23-Aug-01 President George W. Bush rips Yasser Arafat on CNN. Bush suggests that Arafat “put 100%” effort into stopping terrorism” if he wants Israel to negotiate. Saudi leader Abdullah is incensed. He tells Ambassador Bandar to immediately leave the US because Bush supports Israel.

27-Aug-01 On his way out, Bandar meets with Condi Rice while Bush is on vacation. Bandar tells Rice how unacceptable Bush’s comments were, threatens to withhold oil, and says that he’s leaving in disgust. Condi reports to President Bush, who immediately issues a written letter to Bandar stating that “Palestinian people have the right to live in their own state in their own homeland.”

07-Sep-01 Eleven days later, a jubilant Bandar returns to America and meets with Bush, Cheney, Rice and Powell to hammer out the details and announce to the world the creation of the Palestinian State. The negotiations and details continue until Sep. 9, 2001.

10-Sep-01 Bandar and crew finish President Bush’s plans to create a Palestinian nation in Israel in 2005. Bandar calls his offices to inform them the agreement is finally finished.

11-Sep-01 Terrorists explode into the World Trade Center.

23-Aug-05 Israel completed the evacuation of the Gaza Strip and gave it to the Palestinians. The Gaza Strip evacuation came directly from President Bush’s “Roadmap to Peace”.

23-Aug-05 Tropical Storm Katrina appears. A small insignificant tropical storm slowly appeared in the Atlantic below the Bahamas named Katrina. From her beginning meteorologists stated the US had nothing to fear. Katrina packed little punch, plus the computer forecasts kept Katrina calmly corralled in the Atlantic.

Defying computer models, Katrina turned south-east, scraped the south tip of Florida and then with the vengeance of a runaway freight train, Katrina took an unexpected turn into the warm Gulf Coast. Meteorologists tracking Katrina’s unusual path labeled Katrina one of history’s most bizarre hurricanes.

29-Aug-05 Katrina raced directly toward New Orleans, harnessing deadly strength every moment. When Katrina ended her deadly mission America suffered the worst disaster in her storied history.

During the month of August 2005, with unparalleled pressure from the United States dreaded D-Day came. Over 8.500 begging Jewish settlers were forcibly removed from the Gaza Strip. At the orders of the United States and against the protest of the Israeli government, bulldozers came and demolished their homes. The land was then given to terrorists who celebrated and shouted, “Death to Israel”. After the Gaza Strip debacle, US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice immediately began urging Israel to vacate the West Bank. “Everyone has compassion for what the Israelis are going through right now, but, it can’t stop with the Gaza Strip.” Going back to those US ordered bulldozers destroying the Jewish homes in the Gaza Strip, as I saw the thousands and thousands of United States citizens being evacuated from their land around New Orleans my mind could not keep from remembering the Jewish people crying and literally begging to stay in their land. America found no mercy for the Jewish people and if she continues to blatantly defy the Word of God with their hostility and hypocrisy toward God’s heritage, Israel, better buckle up … you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Editors comments -- The sequel to this story is now playing out in the financial collapse which has descended on America. In the days prior to the financial earthquake hitting America, the Bush administration was putting great pressure on Israel to give up Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the Golan Heights. Secretary of State Rice was continuing to demand compliance and threatening Israel. Just when it seemed Israel would be sold into the hands of her enemies for inevitable destruction, betrayed by America, the financial earthquake hit. Suddenly, George Bush was distracted and had no time for anything but the crisis at hand.

Why does the President not get the message? I believe the answer is judicial blindness. America is destined for the judgement of God unless she alters her course. Art Sadlier

Warrens Peace Plan is Catching On

Scripture tells us that the last days of this age will be dominated by a World government working hand in hand with a World church. Scripture tells us these two entities will appear at the beginning of the tribulation period. The fact that these two entities are now hovering in the wings and are about to make an appearance indicates the lateness of the hour in which we now live.

For over fifty years the mainline churches have been promoting ecumenism which is the coming together of all the denominations into common effort to promote a social agenda. Along with that we have witnessed the efforts of the Roman Catholic Church to bring protestants back into a union with Rome. Evangelicals have stood aloof from ecumenism until the last few decades. There are two men who call themselves Evangelicals but are actually New Evangelicals, Rick Warren and Bill Hybels. These two men are subtly leading a vast host of New Evangelicals into a program which will make the church a vehicle for global government. Rick Warren has boldly introduced a Peace Initiative. It is a plan to bring one billion religious people to cooperate in solving many of the world’s problems. He says that there are some global giants that he is set to slay. They are: poverty, HIV/aids, climate change, human rights and selfish leadership. As a New Evangelical, Warren wants to avoid the issue of sin because it is too divisive. Whereas focusing on these social problems brings people together. This is where New Evangelicalism takes a fatal wrong turn. The purpose of the gospel is neither to unite people nor to solve social problems but to preach against sin and to bring conviction on sinners with the purpose of bringing them to reconciliation with God.

New Evangelicalism has swept over much of the Evangelical Church with its goal of social change through the social gospel. The problem is that the price has been the sacrifice of the true gospel, turning the church "into a vehicle for building the world church, the harlot church of Revelation 17. Most tragic of all is that multitudes of evangelicals do not have the foggiest notion of what is going on. The call of the hour is, “Come out of her my people”. God’s program for apostasy is separation!

The Southern Baptists are now getting involved in bringing religions together in order to come up with a peace plan. The following article
details proposals that were made at a recent meeting.

(WASHINGTON -BP— Deep misunderstandings between the United States and Muslim communities around the world are causing serious problems and solving them will require constructing "bridges of understanding," says the president of the Southern Baptist Conventions Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission. Polls show there is a huge lack of understanding of Americans in the Muslim world. We need to broaden and deepen the understanding on both sides," Richard Land said. "The US - Muslim Engagement Project will galvanize every aspect of American society to engage the Muslim society.)

Rick Warren’s peace plan could well be an initiative that will galvanize the religions of the world to promote a social agenda which will be enthusiastically received by the coming world government. Watch it grow. Art Sadlier

World Wide Economic Collapse

Those who study Bible prophecy understand that in the Last Days a new world financial system will be established under a world government. Under this system no one will be able to buy or sell without having the mark of the beast.

“And He causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

Rev. 13: 16 - 17.

The debt ridden world will gladly accept this world-wide cashless monetary system. Debt will be cancelled and people and nations will start anew with the promise of great prosperity.

The US is now 11 trillion dollars in debt, that is 11,000 billion dollars. This is a debt which can never be paid. The situation is, in fact, even worse; debt and unfunded liabilities promised through entitlement programs, are now over 50 trillion dollars. It is impossible to raise that sum, thus the US is theoretically bankrupt.

The US is not alone in this situation, all of the world’s nations are under a crushing load of debt, including third world nations. The current financial crisis threatens the entire world.

The call has gone out for all nations of the world to participate in a summit to draft a new monetary world order. The word is, that this summit will be but the first in a series of meetings to solve this problem. However, it seems there are already differences of opinions on how to proceed, a man of unusual abilities will be required.

"There is on the horizon a coming monetary and financial collapse. This collapse will not take the elite of the world by surprise. I believe they not only know that this day is coming, but that they have long planned for it.

Satan has also long planned this collapse of the present monetary system and he has his man waiting in the wings to bring a temporary and false solution. His solution will bring a cashless society, the 666 mark of the beast and the economic enslavement of the whole world.

Our materialistic society will be thrilled thinking they have been spared economic disaster.
