Eyes To See

Jesus said to His disciples, “But blessed are your eyes, for they see...” The scriptures contain a prophetic message, a message about the future. There is in the great heart of God a desire to share with His own children; that which He plans to do in this world. That fact surfaced very early in the scriptural record, in Genesis 18:17 we hear the voice of God saying, “And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?”

In the scripture we have FOUR OMINOUS WARNINGS of future events unfolding. We have FOUR AREAS where the stage is being set for prophetic events to be fulfilled. We have FOUR SITUATIONS developing that indicate that the end times are upon us. As we observe these things we are reminded of the words of Jesus, “But blessed are your eyes, for they see...” If you are a disciple of Jesus Christ, the message behind these things and these events will be recognizable to you.

In Revelation chapter six John uses the metaphor of four horsemen to foretell the events of the early tribulation period. We are now seeing the shadows of these events being cast on our world today.

In each case we have a rider on the horse, the same rider is on each horse, and the rider represents the Antichrist and the different situations he brings with him as he comes to power on the world stage.

1. The White Horse – Here we have Antichrist riding onto the world stage as a conqueror. Daniel reveals that he comes to power over the nations with a great peace initiative. (Daniel 9:27 – 8:25 – 1 Thess. 5:3)

The stage will be perfectly set for that event to take place. For several decades now the world has been bending every effort to obtain a peace treaty in the Mideast, with conviction that peace in the Mideast will mean peace for the entire world. They believe it will end the reign of terror sweeping the world.

However the threat of disastrous war and nuclear catastrophe is growing by the hour. The nations have been totally frustrated and have now come to the end hope that peace can be reached.

After the war of Psalm 83 the stage will be set for a charismatic, wonder working, dynamic leader who can do the seemingly impossible and bring peace. And not only bring peace, but also solve the deep economic and monetary crisis now facing the world. (He that hath eyes to see)

2. The Red Horse – The red speaks of bloodshed, killing and war. Paul tells us that is what is awaiting the world after the great world peace treaty is signed by the Antichrist. (1 Thess.5:3) The world is literally filled with weapons of destruction. New and ingenious ways of killing people have been devised and facilitated by mushrooming technological advances. There are growing stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, such as biological, chemical and nuclear devises which are falling into the hands of more nations and terrorists and rogue states.

However I believe that the war of Revelation 6:4 speaks first of the war of Ezekiel 38-39 which will follow the false peace of Antichrist. After that, wars will break out all over the earth.

Never before in history has such a scenario been present. The stage is now set. (He that hath eyes to see)

3. The Black Horse – The back horse speaks of famine. The wars that will fill the earth will prevent food distribution and they will hinder agriculture endeavours. We have been warned repeatedly in recent years of the drying up of water sources and the problem of serious droughts. The prospect of wide spread famine has been looming over the world for some time. Skyrocketing food prices would put food beyond the reach of billions of people.

The stage is set for the black horse. (He that hath eyes to see)

4. The Pale Horse – The pale or green horse represents death. We have recently become more aware of the danger of pandemics that have the potential to sweep over the entire world and kill hundreds of millions of people. Death comes in the wake of the wars and the famines. We are told that early in the tribulation period one quarter of the earth’s population dies or are killed.

Later we are told another one third is also killed. By the midpoint of the tribulation one half of the population have been killed.

The stage is being set for these things to happen. (He that hath eyes to see)

FOUR AREAS – There are four geographical areas in the world that play a significant role in the end time events.

1. The EU – is the revived Roman Empire, they claim that themselves. Daniel lays out the scenario that will play out in Europe in the last days. The very scenario that Daniel gives us for the last days is now being readied before our eyes. There are now 17 Euro countries, Daniel tells us that there will be 10 rulers in Europe when the tribulation period comes. Daniel also tells us that when Antichrist appears there will a violent shake up of the European countries. Antichrist will uproot three rulers and take control of the revived Roman Empire. There is now in the EU unprecedented turmoil and economic problems. The EU leaders are saying that there must be a profound reorganization of the EU with more centralized control if the EU is to survive.

We have watched the EU develop over the years with an eye as to how it would morph into 10 nations. We are astounded as to how the situation has so rapidly changed and is now set for Antichrist to appear and fashion the Revived Roman Empire according the Biblical pattern. (He that hath eyes to see)

2. Russia, Iran and Turkey – In Ezekiel 38-39 we have the details given of a war that will take place early in the tribulation period. There is an alliance of six nations that will be formed to come against Israel to destroy her. Russia will be the leader of that alliance. Today that alliance is being fashioned before our eyes. Russia is now aliening with Iran and Turkey. Iran has been preparing to wipe Israel off the map. Turkey has just recently become a sworn enemy of Israel and is rapidly becoming a radical Islamic Fundamentalist anti Israel state.

Just recently Israel has discovered trillions of cubic feet of Gas off her shores, and billions of dollars of oil. Turkey is openly challenging Israel`s ownership of those resources and would welcome Russia’s help to obtain and share that wealth. It is for just such a spoil that Russia will be drawn into the war of Ezekiel 38-39. Ezekiel 38:11-12 reveals that scenario, “And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.” (He that hath eyes to see)

3. Israel – It is astounding the way the scenario of the war of Psalm 83 is now set up. Every detail is now in place. There is an alliance of nations named in Psalm 83, for the purpose of destroying Israel. That alliance has now come together and they are now preparing to do just that. This group is doing what the scriptures said they would do; they are claiming the land of Israel as their own. They are claiming Judea and Samaria, biblical Jerusalem and the temple mount as their own. They have petitioned the UN to give them much of Israel`s land as a state of their own. This is an astounding fulfilment of prophecy that is unique to our own day. (He that hath eyes to see)

4. China – China has exploded onto the world scene as a power to be reckoned with. They are rapidly expanding their navy and using their newfound wealth to insert themselves into world affairs. They are gaining influence in every area of the world. This situation is a new development and certainly seems to be preparation for China's involvement in the battle of Armageddon. (He that has eyes to see)

FOUR SITUATIONS – There are four situations in our present world that are driving the people of the world toward world government, which is another end time scenario.

1. Economic and Monetary – The economies of the world are on the verge of collapse. The whole world faces recession and probably a great depression. The economies of the world are linked together and what affects one also affects the others. The nations of the world have been working together to solve the problem. The more they meet and set rules and regulations the more interdependent they become. The world has arrived at the place where only world-wide controls can remedy the problem. The world is rushing toward a world government, a world economy and a world monetary system.

The stage is being set. (He that hath eyes to see)

2. Environmental – Real or imagined, the world is very troubled about the environment. There has been for sometime concerted efforts to bring the world together to regulate and control pollution. This ongoing effort is pushing the world toward one world government. This is a situation that is unique to this hour. (He that has eyes to see)

3. Drive for Peace – This drive has brought the nations of the world together in a way never even imagined making huge compromises. These compromises are always at Israel’s expense. The world is happy to sacrifice Israel for the sake of its own peace and safety. The desire for peace is a unifying force that is promoting UN solutions and world government. (He that hath eyes to see)

4. Exponential Growth of Evil – Paul tells us that in the last days evil will greatly increase. He tells us that when the church is raptured all restraints on evil will be lifted and evil will be seen in its ultimate fullness. Today evil is flooding over the world in an alarming and fearful way. We are shocked and revolted at the flood of evil on every side. If you dare turn on your TV set, evil will flood into your living room. Its’ hard to describe the extent of vileness we are being exposed to! Everywhere we look we are assaulted. We cry out how long Lord Jesus? Come now and rescue us from a wicked and perverse generation! We feel like lot, of whom it was said, “For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds”(2 Peter 2:8).

The stage is set for Satan to attempt his final assault on God.

He that hath eyes to see let him see - Blessed are your eyes for they see.

Is the Land of Israel about to be Divided
Oct 1st, 2011
Art Sadlier

I believe as we study the scriptures we can conclude that the land of Israel is not going to be divided at this time. The question is if not now, then when?

As the tribulation period begins scripture reveals Israel dwelling in peace and safety on the land. Also, as the first half of the tribulation period unfolds, it reveals Israel in possession of the Temple Mount with a rebuilt temple and the re-established worship and evidently in possession of Jerusalem. In Matthew 24 Jesus reveals, at the midpoint of the tribulation period, Israelis dwelling in Judea.

As we stand on the threshold of the “Day of the Lord” it is clear from scripture that the Palestinians are not about to obtain a state on the Promised Land.

We restate what we have previously said; we are headed for the consolidation of Israel’s place in the Promised Land. We are headed for the re-establishment of the temple worship.

More immediately, we are headed for a war between Israel and the Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Jordan. You cannot read and analyse the news and come to any other conclusion. Israel will never be found to be dwelling in peace in the land until these nations and groups are totally subdued. We have already showed from Psalm 83, Isaiah 17, and Ezekiel 36, that the Lord is going to pour out judgment on these antagonists of Israel.

In Ezekiel 36, we read about this outpouring of God’s wrath on Idumea (the Palestinians). Verse 5, “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.”

We restate the fact that this coming war will fill the world with fear and trembling. The total destruction of the Palestinians and their allies and the fact that weapons of mass destruction will be used (chemical and biological weapons, and possibly nuclear weapons), as God also intervenes in great fury.

We also suspect from the warning signs all around us that the world will be in chaos, with economic collapse, political turmoil and perhaps natural disasters.

We restate that on this scene the antichrist will come and bring his false peace and work his political-economical miracles and wonders. Daniel reveals the manner in which this deceiver will come to power. Daniel 8:25, “And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many.....”

John, in Revelation 6:2 describes the same event, “And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; (notice with no arrows) and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.”

THE DIVISION OF THE LAND will take place at the midpoint of the tribulation period.

Jesus tells us that at the mid-tribulation point an unprecedented assault against Israel will take place. It will be the beginning of the time known as “Jacob’s trouble.” Jews will be driven out of the land and those that remain will be slaughtered. Mathew 24:16-21, “Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” The setting for these verses is the mid-tribulation point as revealed in verse 15.

We see this slaughter described in Zechariah 13:8, where two thirds of the nation will be killed, “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.” This time of Jacob’s trouble is alluded to in Revelation 12:13-14, where we see the Jews fleeing out of the land as Satan seeks to annihilate them in the last half of the tribulation, “And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” At that the close of that time the judgment of God will be poured out on Antichrist and the nations for what they have done to Israel during the last half of the tribulation period.

Joel warns of the judgment of God to fall on the nations of the world for this assault on Israel. In Joel 3:2 we read, “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead (judge) with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” Joel is here referring to the battle of Armageddon at the close of the tribulation.

At that time Israel’s eyes will be opened and they will repent and turn to their Messiah who will come and deliver them and set up the kingdom.

I have deliberately repeated myself in the above articles to help all to understand the hour in which we are now living and to realize what lies in the near future.

LET ME REVIEW ONE MORE TIME. The land is not about to be divided at this time. War will come first and then the false peace treaty. Israel will rebuild the temple and re-establish the temple worship for three and one half years. Then the time of Jacob’s trouble will see Israel driven off the land and slaughtered by Antichrist. Finally in the war of Armageddon, Messiah will come and deliver believing Israel and set up the kingdom.

We do not know just when the trumpet will sound to call us to the Father’s house. But we do know that it is near at hand.

Is the Peace Treaty about to be Signed
Oct 1st, 2011
Art Sadlier

God’s word tells us of an event which will mark the beginning of the tribulation period. We are told by both Daniel and John that the tribulation period will last seven years. Daniel 9:27 tells us of the event that will initiate this time known also as the Day of the Lord.” “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

First - we notice who it is that will ratify this peace treaty. “He shall confirm the covenant.” Who is this “he” that will confirm or sign this peace treaty? Verse 26 tells us who this coming one is. He is called, “the prince that shall come.” Then he is identified with the people who destroyed the city of Jerusalem, an event perpetrated by the Romans in 70 AD. “And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people (Romans) of the prince that shall come (antichrist) shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; (70 AD) and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined” (verse 26).

We understand then that there is coming one who will sign a peace treaty with Israel and the nations. We further understand that this coming one will come from (be the leader of) the revived Roman Empire. The scripture calls this man the “antichrist” or the “beast” and it also gives to him many other descriptive names.

[For clarification, Paul tells us that the church will be raptured prior to the appearance of Antichrist, 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-3. Notice in verse 1 the subject of those 3 verses is the rapture. Remember also that the church may be raptured at any time; it may be raptured some time prior to the signing of the peace treaty. The rapture and the peace treaty are not necessarily tied together. The rapture is a signless event.]

For several decades now the entire world has been preoccupied with this peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians. This is the same peace treaty which when signed by antichrist will precipitate the tribulation period.

At this very moment the UN, the US, the EU, Russia, Israel, the Palestinians, the Muslim nations and the entire world are wrestling mightily with this issue and it seems to be coming to a climax.

This brings us to our question, “Is the peace treaty about to be signed?”

As we study scripture on this issue the answer we come up with is NO.

Neither the Palestinians, the Arabs nor the Muslim world have any intention of signing anything that would legitimize Israel. They have one goal and that goal is the elimination of Israel (they have stated that many times). That is why the Palestinians refuse to negotiate.

In his speech to the UN on September 23, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas stated that he would “Never recognize Israel as a Jewish state.” For talks to take place, he said, Israel must accept the Palestinian right to all the lands it captured in 1967 on the West Bank and Jerusalem. Turning to the Palestinian religious and historical affinity to Jerusalem, he called it the city of two Koranic prophets, Muhammad and Jesus, obliterating any Jewish ties to the city. That is the fulfilment of Psalm 83:12, “Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.” This claiming of the temple mount by Israel’s enemies is also foretold in Ezekiel 36:2, “Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places (temple mount) are ours in possession.”

Netanyahu outlined the historic Jewish ties to the Land of Israel to explain why it was so important for the Palestinians to accept the Jews' historical ties to their land, which they have consistently refused to do. For his part Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed, "The West Bank will not be another Gaza.” “In peace negotiations, Israel would seek defensible borders and a long-term military presence in a demilitarized Palestinian State”, said the prime minister – “especially after the experience of the uprooting of settlements and disengagement from the Gaza Strip resulted in years of missile attacks on southern Israel.”

The nations have been pressing for peace in the Mideast for decades now. They will continue to press for a peace agreement, but the facts are clear there is no peace agreement possible at this time.

Something must happen before this false peace treaty can come about. That something is a war that will so destroy Israel’s antagonists that they will sue for peace. I believe that that is the scenario described in the scriptures. I know that I have laboured this point, but if that is the situation that is about to break upon the world then we are justified in labouring it.

Israel has fought three major wars since 1948. In each of those wars Israel was outnumbered and out gunned. Israel had no hope of winning those wars. The God of Israel intervened in each case and gave Israel miraculous victories of Biblical like proportions.

Those wars are not mentioned directly in scripture, but they are alluded to in Zechariah 12:6, “In that day will I make the governors (1) of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: (2) and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again (3) in her own place, even in Jerusalem.

That is a perfect description of what happened in those three wars. The context of these wars is the last days. Notice first, that it is a time when Israel has no king but is under governors (members of the Knesset), that is the present hour. Notice second, that during those wars the Israelis so overcame their enemies that indeed they seemed like a fire that consumed everything around them. The deserts were strewn with hundreds and hundreds of burned out enemy tanks and artillery pieces and downed enemy aircraft. Those scenes shown on TV; are indelibly etched in my mind. Israel was indeed like a fire and her enemies were the wood. Notice third, that it was during the war of 1967 that biblical Jerusalem was captured again and inhabited again by the Israelis.

Though the Bible did not give details about those wars it does give considerable detail about three wars yet to come. Those three wars are

1. the war of Psalm 83 (also Ezekiel 36 and Isaiah 17),

2. the war of Ezekiel 38-39 and

3. the war of Armageddon Joel 3 and Revelation 19.

In each of these three wars an attempt is made to destroy Israel and in each case God intervenes and destroys the enemies of Israel. The climax comes with the battle of Armageddon when Christ Himself comes and obliterates the armies of the entire world with the sword of His mouth and rules on the throne of David in Jerusalem.

These three wars each have different time frames. Each takes place in a different place. Each involves different groups which are named. These enemies of Israel form concentric circles around Israel. In the war of Psalm 83 we have the Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, Jordan and Syria, all within or near Israel’s borders. In the war of Ezekiel 38-39 we have Russia, Iran, Turkey, Ethiopia and Libya which represent a wider circle of enemies. This war takes place on the mountains of Israel. Then in the battle of Armageddon we see the whole world drawn into the valley of Megiddo.

One of the amazing things we are observing is the preparation now being made for all three of these wars. Though each of these wars has its own unique time frame, nevertheless preparations are now underway for each of them.

1. The war of Armageddon takes place at the close of the tribulation period, in the valley of Megiddo.

2. The war of Ezekiel 38-39 takes place on the mountains of Israel. It takes place early in the tribulation period. We know that because the weapons are burned by the Israelis for seven years which would be accomplished prior to the millennial kingdom. We also note that the attack takes place during a time when Israel is at peace, this is mentioned three times in Ezekiel 38. The only time when Israel will experiences peace will be very early in the tribulation period. (See also 1 Thessalonians 5:3)

3. That leaves the war of Psalm 83 which will take place prior to the peace treaty and the tribulation period. The exact scenario of this war is now forming before our very eyes.

Notice the attitude of the nations around Israel today as described in Psalm 83:3-5, “They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee.” That is the situation in the Mideast right now; this scenario is unique to this very hour. The scene is now set for this war to take place. Though the leaders of the western nations stop their ears, the Palestinian and Islamic leaders have said very clearly, over and over again that their goal is the destruction of Israel. They have made it plain that Israel must be removed from the Mideast. “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation.”

The official Palestinian logo, which is on the petition to the UN for a Palestinian State, shows a map of the whole area with no Israeli presence.

In December 2009 the leader of Hamas actually sent a letter to the UN, in it he said, “The land of Palestine belongs to the Arabs, from sea to sea, there is no place for Jews in it.” In the last several days Palestinian leaders have declared that, “Their state would never accept any Jewish presence.”

Notice the people involved in this coming war: Psalm 83:6-8, “The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.”

It is not hard to identify the countries mentioned here. Edom is represented by the Palestinians according to a study done by Jimmy DeYoung. The Ishmaelites are Arabs, Ammon would be Jordan, and the Philistines would be represented by Hamas in Gaza. Tyre would represent Hezbollah in Lebanon. Assur is a suburb of Damascus, and would represent Syria. These are the combatants in this war in question. This is the very same group now preparing to go to war with Israel. The events described in Psalm 83 are directly related to the present Mideast situation. These groups are stockpiling missiles and weapons of all kinds, including weapons of mass destruction.

Hezbollah is said to have 60,000 missiles of all kinds and ranges. Some of these missiles can carry payloads of up to a ton. DEBKAfile reports that some of these weapons are ready to be equipped with chemical and biological warheads. Syria has an extensive arsenal of missiles, some equipped with weapons of mass destruction. Hamas is reported to have purchased weapons of mass destruction from the Libyan rebels.

Retired US General Paul Valley has stated that he believes a Mideast war is coming, a war that will change the world. IDF generals are preparing for a regional war with attacks from Gaza on the south, Syria on the east, Hezbollah on the north and from the Palestinians from within.

Notice the outcome of this war: I believe the outcome of this war will be the setup for the coming peace treaty. I believe that Israel’s enemies will be totally decimated in this war as God intervenes; I believe the scriptures make this plain. It also indicates that Israel will suffer severe damage in this war.

Isaiah 17:13-14, “The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. And behold at evening tide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.”

This is another war that Israel should lose, but once again God will intervene. Notice,” God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off.”

In verse 14 we see the fate of Damascus; that could well be the nuclear destruction of Damascus. Recently Israel warned Syria that if they use weapons of mass destruction against Israel, “We will wipe you out.”

In Psalm 83 we have the same message concerning the defeat of Israel’s enemies in this war. We see this in verses 13-17, “O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD. Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish.”

We have the same message in Ezekiel 36:5-7, “Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey. Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen: Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.”

The results of this coming war will be the total destruction of the Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, Jordan and Syria. I believe from what we read in these scriptures that the world will be left in a state of shock. I believe the possible use of nuclear weapons will terrify the world, lest the war should expand and others should use nuclear weapons.

There is another factor not mentioned in these verses. That factor is the looming world-wide economic collapse. We can easily understand how the world would be brought to its knees. I do not want to be light hearted about this coming situation, but throw in a few major terrorist attacks and a few catastrophic natural disasters and you have a scenario for a false messiah to ride onto the scene and through signs and wonders and miracles deliver the world from despair.

God has a purpose and a program, some of it He has revealed to us. In the three wars of Israel from 1948 – 1973 God was in effect saying to Israel, “Trust and obey Me and I will protect you and bless you.” In each of those situations Israeli’s were conscious of the fact that God was moving on their behalf. However there was no returning of Israel to the Lord, life went on much as before.

I believe that in the three Israeli wars yet to come, the God of Israel will speak more loudly to both Israel and to a rebellious world. As we study about those wars we learn that God’s judgement on the enemies of His people will grow in intensity. It will climax in the battle of Armageddon with the total destruction of all of the world’s armies.

Notice one of the great purposes of Jehovah in these coming wars. “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth” (Psalm 83:18).

Also in Ezekiel 36:23, “And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.”

Again in Ezekiel 38:18, “Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.”

Understand that after the church is raptured God will not have a witness in the world, at least as the tribulation period begins. God will give His own witness to a rebellious world by His obvious divine intervention in the wars of Israel.

I believe several major things will result.

I. Israel will begin to take notice of what God has done, and 144,000 Jews from the twelve tribes of Israel will be saved and others will begin a turning to the Messiah of Israel.

II. I believe multitudes Muslims will see how the God of Israel has brought judgment on the millions of Muslims slain by the hand of God in these wars. Many Muslims will say the God of Israel is the true God and not Allah.

III. These wars which will glorify God will be the catalyst in the salvation of multiplied millions of tribulation saints.

IV. As all through history, millions will see the hand of God at work and do what unbelieving men have always done, they will turn away from the gracious God that seeks to draw them to Himself, and harden their hearts.

I believe that as antichrist comes on the scene he will first work his miracles and wonders in the EU. He will bring prosperity and order out of the confusion that now reigns in Europe. This success will cause the world to fall at his feet as he brings peace and safety to the whole world (though it will be only temporary peace).

In the EU - The EU is in state of turmoil as the economic crisis is creating the possibility of the collapse of the Euro. Many are demanding more centralized authority with a strong central government. The warning has been issued that there are only six weeks in which to solve the problem.

The prophetic scriptures indicate that there will be only ten nations (ten kings or rulers) in the revived Roman Empire when Antichrist comes on the scene. With total collapse seemingly on the horizon, the time is ripe for a superman to appear onto the scene and forcefully reshape Europe. The stage is set for a miracle working super leader to sweep on the scene and solve the financial crisis which is endangering the entire world.

With the dramatic changes that have occurred in the world in recent days it does not seem far-fetched that the EU should suddenly consist of ten units with ten leaders as Daniel prophesied. Daniel foretold a strong man arising in the revived Roman Empire, and that he would by force reshape Europe. Daniel 7:8, “I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.” The stage is set for this prophecy to be fulfilled.

In PalestineThe peace process is now dead; there cannot be peace in Palestine until one of the two sides is totally subdued.

The Palestinians have made it clear to all who have an ear to hear, that they will never accept a Jewish state. They have set conditions that Israel could never meet. They are demanding all of Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem, the Temple mount and the return of millions of Palestinians into Israel proper. Those millions of Palestinians would take away the Jewish majority and terminate the State of Israel.

In the meantime the Palestinians claim they are just one short of a majority vote in the Security Council. They are working frantically to obtain the vote that would give them the state they have been seeking. That would leave Obama with the option of a veto.

In the meantime a bill is being put forward in the Knesset that would give Israel the authority to annex the West Bank. There is a broad consensus that war is inevitable, and that is why the peace negotiations are being so desperately sought after by the western powers.

In Libya – It has been reported that a large catch of weapons has been sold by the mercenary rebels. They have been sold to Hamas and Hezbollah. It is reported that these weapons include 20,000 hand held missiles capable of downing aircraft and commercial airliners. There is also a cache of advanced SA-24 anti-air infrared missiles. It has been reported that poison gas and mustard gas is included in the cache. It is also reported that Russian-made MDM-3 sea mines have also fallen into the hands of Hamas.

Add this to the steady shipment of arms flowing in from Iran and you have a frightening assembly of arms to be used against Israel.

In Turkey – We see an incredible growing assault on Israel. Over the last few years Turkey has been making the transformation from a secular democratic state to an Islamic fundamentalist state. Since his recent re-election Prime Minister Erdogan has arrested a number of army generals and jailed them. He has now gained control over the army and is moving ahead with his Islamic Fundamentalist agenda. His anti-Israel agenda is similar to the Islamic Fundamentalist agenda in Iran.

It is becoming clearer that energy poor Turkey is greedily eyeing the billions of dollars of gas now available off the coast of Israel and adjacent waters. Turkey can never become the great power it aspires to be without an adequate energy supply. A recent news item stated, “That this natural gas plays a central role in the dispute with Israel as was indicated in an additional comment of Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan.”  “Turkey will not allow Israel to exploit ‘one-sided’ the giant natural gas deposits in the eastern Mediterranean.” The U.S. Geological Survey estimates the coastal areas from Israel’s border with Egypt north to Syria alone contain 122 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. They also may hold “an estimated 1.7 billion barrels of undiscovered, recoverable oil,”

This is playing out like a warm up for the war of Ezekiel 38-39 where Russia will come with Turkey and others to take a spoil. That spoil would be Israel’s oil and gas.

The USA – The US is being pressed from all directions. China is flexing her muscles in the waters of Asia and challenging America with an array of naval might that will reduce American influence in Asia. Iran is becoming more belligerent with the US and threatening to bring the Iranian navy into the Gulf of Mexico. It is not that Iran has that capability at the present, but rather it shows the contempt from which Iran will attack America in the time and place of their choosing. America would be foolish to trust Iran with nuclear weapons.

In the world of finance American dominance of monetary and economic policy is rapidly declining. This week Germany told the Americans to butt out of European affairs and attend to their own. In the diplomatic world American influence is rapidly declining, the Mideast peace process has now become a debacle for Obama.

Iran - Says it has started large-scale production of a domestically-developed cruise missile designed for sea-based targets and capable of destroying warships. Iran's growing arsenal of missiles is raising concerns, including its short and medium range ballistic missiles capable of hitting targets in the region such as Israel and U.S. military bases in the Gulf.

On September 28, the French warned Iran that it risks a military strike if it continues to develop its nuclear program. Ambassador Gerard Araud said in New York that "If we don't succeed today to reach a negotiation with the Iranians, there is a strong risk of military action," AFP reported.

Ambassador Araud's comment confirmed reports from debkafile's military sources in recent months that US and European sanctions against Iran had been ineffectual and the ayatollahs had no intention of slowing down on their drive for a nuclear weapon.

The ambassador said, “The strike would be a very complicated operation. It would have disastrous consequences in the region… all the Arab countries are extremely worried about what is happening."

The French diplomat was not the only one to raise the alarm this week about regional war clouds circling over Iran. On September 9 the Russian army, joined by Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, deployed 12,000 troops in a huge combined military exercise code-named Center-2011 which simulated an Iranian attack on Caspian oil fields operated by American firms in reprisal for a US strike against Iranian nuclear sites.

All these ominous events, the pointed comments by French and British diplomats and the large-scale Russian-Central Asian war game, add up to widespread scepticism about any chance of halting Iran's race for a nuclear weapon.
