Volcanic Blast as Great a Threat to Uk Security As Nuclear Terrorism

An eruption of a supervolcano in Iceland should pose as great a threat to Britain as nuclear terrorism, according to a high level UK government report.

The warning was made by a group of academics and scientists from the British Geological Survey and the Met Office, which also involved geologists from Edinburgh University.

They argue that certain types of eruptions of Icelandic volcanoes, known as effusive gas-rich eruptions, should be considered an immediate risk to human health and the environment for much of northern Europe.

They can erupt for months and cause geological devastation across thousands of miles.

The Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which erupted in 2010, is thought to be a more ‘explosive’ type as it propels ash in to the atmosphere over a shorter period of time.

While air traffic was grounded as a result, the Cabinet Office report argues the event was relatively small event, given the potentially-lethal power Icelandic volcanoes possess.

Their research touches on the catastrophic Laki eruption in 1783 which is thought to have led to the death of tens of thousands of people in Britain.

If another such eruption takes place, then Britain and other countries could be hit by a blanket of ash and toxic materials, along with several years of extreme weather.

Their claims will be aired today during a conference at the European Geosciences Union in Vienna.

Support for Israel Waning Among Evangelicals

In a recent article by Sarah Bailey in The Washington Post , David Brog, executive director of Christians United for Israel (CUFI) is quoted expressing concern that evangelicals have shifted within the last decade, and are no longer considered automatic supporters of Israel.

“The days of taking evangelical support for Israel for granted are over…they cannot let the evangelical community go the way of the mainstream Protestant leadership, Brog urged.

Several mainline churches and international church bodies have passed resolutions on divesting money or boycotting products made in Israel because of its "occupation" of the Palestinian territories.

David Gushee, Christian ethicist at Mercer University, said he sees more tourist trips to the region wanting to include a Palestinian perspective. “The Palestinian side of the story is coming into view in the way it hasn’t come before,” he said. “As people are organizing their mental worlds theologically, whatever they’re reading, it doesn’t equal unequivocal support for Israel at any given point.”

Jews for Jesus director David Brickner holds a similar view: “I long to see the church have a balanced perspective on the Middle East, where you don’t have to throw out the concern for Palestinians to support Israel. I really believe there’s a large middle ground, but it’s hard to do when people are in their polar positions.”

Examples given in the Washington Post report, of the downward trend in support for Israel by evangelicals include the following:

  • In an October 2010 poll of evangelical leaders attending the global evangelical conference in Cape Town, South Africa, 48 percent of the evangelicals said Israel is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy about the Second Coming of Jesus, while 42 percent said it is not.
  • 34 percent of global evangelicals surveyed sympathized with Israel, compared with 30 percent of American evangelicals.
  • New films made by Christians, such as “With God on Our Side” and “Little Town of Bethlehem” are beginning to question support for Israel.
  • “Christ at the Checkpoint” began in 2010 as a biennial conference with the idea that Jesus was a Palestinian who could be suffering under Israeli occupation today as he once suffered under Roman occupation.

Despite such instances, findings from the Pew Research Center suggest that evangelical support for Israel has remained relatively stable in the past five years. When asked:  “In the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians, who do you sympathize with more?” evangelicals were far more likely to say Israel — 72 percent to 4 percent in 2013, about the same as in 2009.

This apparent paradox of views from evangelicals suggests that evangelical support of Israel is still quite strong but is being steadily eroded due to news reports and perceptions alleging Israel’s abuse of Palestinian rights.

According to the Washington Post report, this indication of unwavering support for Israel is thought to have originated from a specific, literalistic approach to Biblical prophecy, called dispensationalism. Dispensationalists believe the Israelites’ return to the Promised Land is a requirement for the Second Coming of Jesus. They therefore rejoiced when Israeli troops captured the Old City of Jerusalem from Arab forces in June 1967 and saw it as a sign that Jesus was coming.

Another Biblical reason for the widespread support for Israel by evangelicals is however not covered in many analyses: that God, in the Old Testament, chose Israel as His own covenant people, promising to bless those who bless them and curse those who curse them(Genesis 12:1-3).

And as explained in weblessisrael.org:  “In the Book of Numbers, where the Bible is telling us about the Nation of Israel that God delivers out of bondage in Egypt, it tells us:"He crouched. He lay down as a lion, and as a great lion. Who shall stir him up? Blessed is he who blesses you, and cursed is he who curses you" (Numbers 24:9). Although many will point out that this Scripture had its fulfillment in the Old Testament days, it doesn't seem to have any time-related limitation on it. It doesn't say, "I will bless those who bless you only until the Messiah comes. . .", or have any other conditions that would limit the result of actions toward Israel”.

But why Israel? David Treybig for LifeHop and Truth explained: “God’s purpose in choosing Israel was for them to be a model nation to other nations and that through them “all the families of the earth” would be blessed (Genesis 12:3). He wanted Israel to be “a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6). Other nations would see that when the Israelites obeyed God, they were blessed (verse 5), and when they disobeyed God, they would be punished (Deuteronomy 28)”.

So there is clearly a sense in which evangelicals should support Israel – simply because God initiated that support and commands it – promising to bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse them. His choice of Israel is on the basis of His love, promises to their forefathers and covenant relationship with Israel (Deuteronomy 7:6-8), not due to their number or righteousness. Therefore, those who choose not to support Israel based on Israel’s perceived weaknesses or misdeeds are overlooking this point and taking a different position than God commanded for those who wish to remain blessed.

God’s prerogative in His dealings with Israel, both collectively and individually should not be usurped by any man’s judgment or opinion, as any wicked actions taken by Israel and Israelis will be judged by God Himself. As written in Ezekiel 18:30:  Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Report: Pentagon to Destroy $1b in Ammo

The Pentagon plans to destroy more than $1 billion worth of ammunition although some of those bullets and missiles could still be used by troops, according to the Pentagon and congressional sources.

It’s impossible to know what portion of the arsenal slated for destruction — valued at $1.2 billion by the Pentagon — remains viable because the Defense Department’s inventory systems can’t share data effectively, according to a Government Accountability Office report obtained by USA TODAY.

The result: potential waste of unknown value.

“There is a huge opportunity to save millions, if not billions of dollars if the (Pentagon) can make some common-sense improvements to how it manages ammunition,” said Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., and chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. “Despite years of effort, the Army, Navy and Air Force still don’t have an efficient process for doing something as basic as sharing excess bullets. This Government Accountability Office (GAO) report clearly shows that our military’s antiquated systems lead to millions of dollars in wasteful ammunition purchases.”

The Army and Pentagon, in a statement, acknowledged “the need to automate the process” and will make it a priority in future budgets. In all, the Pentagon manages a stockpile of conventional ammunition worth $70 billion.

The effect of inaccurate accounting of ammunition for troops at war was outside the scope of the study. However, there were limited supplies at times of .50-caliber machine gun and 9mm handgun ammunition at the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a senior military officer who spoke on condition of anonymity to talk about the issue.

Jewish Priests Train to Serve in Rebuilt Temple
Apr 29th, 2014

Preparations toward the building in Jerusalem of the 3rd Jewish temple, together with the re-institution of the related ancient Jewish sacrifices, seem to have begun in earnest.  In a recent edition of U.S News and World Report, Yuval Avivi details the practices and processes that were expected to be launched as from 10th April 2014, in an article titled ‘Israeli Institute Prepares Priests for Jerusalem's Third Temple’. The plan to rebuild the Jewish temple has significant implications with regards to end-time Bible prophecy, and as such is being viewed with interest primarily by Christians, Jews and Bible scholars, especially students of eschatology.

The timing of the gathering has been matched to the date on which the people of Israel were commanded to take a lamb and sacrifice it, before the Exodus from Egypt. Temple rites will entail slaughtering lambs, sprinkling their blood on the altar by priests dressed in kosher priestly garments and roasting the lambs with their heads, legs and innards, in the exact manner that God first prescribed to the Jewish people or ‘children of Israel’ at the first Passover.

Yuval explains that in the first stage, hundreds of Jews will gather at the Maimonides rabbinical institution plaza in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood in Jerusalem and start learning the Jewish laws of Passover. Rabbis and experts, including Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, the head of the Temple Institute in the Old City of Jerusalem, the leading body preparing for the establishment of the third temple, will teach the audience the laws of the Passover sacrifice. Alongside Ariel, the ritual slaughterer (shohet) Rabbi Yehudah Giatt will teach the audience about the unique elements of the slaughter of the Passover sacrifice. After the lessons, the real thing will start: the simulation of the Passover sacrifice.

The practice drill and re-enactment of the Passover sacrifice has been assigned to the students of the school for priests, Nezer Ha-kodesh, which started operating this year to train the hundreds of priests that would be needed to work at the third temple. According to the director of the school, Rabbi Yehoshua Friedman, to carry out the mandatory sacrifices a minimum of 13 priests in the temple, to as high as several hundred, is necessary for a fully operating temple.

The many laws relating to the temple operations include how to use incense, how to light the holy menorah, how to sanctify hands and feet, and of course, how to sacrifice. The study course is undergoing continued development as the student priests continue to raise requests to learn one topic or another, especially since some laws are said to have faded over time. At the Temple Institute, researchers are working hard to relearn the laws as well as study the architecture, location and necessary tools, including the actual re-enactment of the required rituals. As Rabbi Friedman stated: “One of the unique elements of the course is the actual practice. In my course, they learned how to sacrifice birds, so we brought stuffed doves, so that the priests would learn how to hold them, how to execute the specific moves. We work on standing in front of the altar to demonstrate the action, so that it’ll become natural to them.”

According to journalist Arnon Segal, religious Zionism and the State of Israel are said to have long worked to focus Jewish longing on the Western Wall, in what was a seemingly deliberate attempt to “remove the Temple Mount from the Jewish mind.” Segal and his friends have been working in recent years, with growing success, to change the outlook of decision-makers: rabbis, members of the Knesset and other influential Israelis, who Segal describes as “…traditional and attached to the texts of the prayers and study of Judaism, which is full of the desire to re-establish the temple”.

The Temple Institute is said to be one of about 12 official groups working in Israel today to establish the temple, with some of them receiving funding amounting to hundreds of thousands of shekels from the State of Israel. Thousands of people visit the Temple Institute every year, and it holds various training sessions meant to educate and raise consciousness. But they also work on the pragmatic level, using such tools as:

  • The holy menorah, a modular altar that could quickly be taken apart and reassembled at the temple;
  • The bronze basin;
  • The shewbread (consecrated unleavened bread) table;
  • No less than 40 sets of kosher priestly garments (the prototype for the thousands of sets to be sewn in the future).

The rabbis detailed 93 different tools that were used in the temple, and the Temple Institute also deals with them. Segal explains that “It’s based on very in-depth research done at various places…It’s an entire research project of the past 20 years.”

According to Rabbi Friedman, the architectural plan of the Third Temple will resemble that of the Second one, and will include an organized plan for the Chamber of Hewn Stone, the seat of the Sanhedrin [the ancient high court assembly]. There will be a menorah, an altar, a shewbread table, the Holy of Holies. However there will be no entryway (hall) in the sanctuary that existed in the First and Second Temples, and changes to the basin which according to the Talmud has had 12 spigots added to it. It’s unknown how many they had before that.

Friedman further explains that modern era conveniences, such as computers, legal documents, fruit mixers, electric ovens, and even that will transmit what’s happening there to the whole world. But he notes that modern advances could also create some difficulties: “The temple subsisted on the half-shekel tax. This money became sanctified when it was transferred to the temple. Today, when payments are made by direct deposit, they will only be numbers in bank accounts and there’s no actual sacred currency. It’s a nuance that needs to be considered.”

Segal and Friedman agree that everything is ready except two additional “small” matters:

  1. The “easy” one is surprisingly, the absence of the Ark of the Covenant. Friedman stated that “There are 10 studies about the location of the Ark of the Covenant. We read them and studied all of them, and reached the conclusion that the right answer is that it’s buried in the tunnels under the Temple Mount. When the day comes, we will get to it.” It is also noteworthy, as pointed out by Segal, that the Second Temple did not have an ark.
  2. The more problematic issue is the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock, which slightly impedes the architectural plans. “The temple will not be built through private acts and blowing up mosques,” emphasizes Segal. “That’s not the direction. The direction is changing consciousness. The preparations are mental more than anything.” One of the people involved in preparations, who requested anonymity, explains, “If not for the problem of the Dome of the Rock, they would build the temple today, and the temple would be built there. The third temple will be built by the government of Israel, not by private individuals. No one will do what shouldn’t be done, like an underground action to blow up the Dome of the Rock. The people who are committed to establishing the temple are normative and rational people, and just like we established the State of Israel, the day will come when we will build the temple, in an orderly, state-sanctioned manner… the location of the altar where sacrifices are allowed on the Temple Mount is not within the bounds of Al-Aqsa, so at least they should let us sacrifice on the Temple Mount.”

However before any sacrifices take place there, the State of Israel will need to authorize Jews to ascend to the Temple Mount and allow them to conduct any specifically related activities.

For students of Biblical eschatology, the interest is more on the prophetic significance of these events: what does it all mean, especially in relation to end-time prophecies mentioned particularly in the books of Daniel and Revelation?

It is noteworthy to remember that as with most prophetic/end time prophecies, although Bible Scholars tend to agree on most prophetic Biblical themes and events specified, in some cases they also tend to differ on interpretation and timing of certain details.

He Is Near.com explains that based on Revelation 11:2 and 13:1, once a 7-year Mideast Peace Agreement is signed by the End -Time Antichrist or “man of sin”, then the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem will be built within the first three and a half years of the Tribulation and “will be a prime cause of the massive bloodshed, terror & death that will occur worldwide at that time”. Once it is completed, the Antichrist will be the ultimate world leader who will enter into the 3rd Temple at the exact Mid-7 year point of the 7-year Tribulation period.  The man of sin then "takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God” (2 Thess.2:4; Rev.13:1-18; Dan. 9:27). This act will launch the Great Tribulation period, the most horrific & deathly three and a half year period that will ever occur in world history, all at the hands of the Antichrist.

Based on this interpretation, the other key event to watch for in addition to the rebuilding of the Temple is the signing of a peace treaty in the Middle East, which will then trigger the timetable of events prophesied to occur after that.

Nowtheendbegins.com also states that based on Daniel 9:24-27, at the time of  the ‘Great Tribulation’ or the 'time of Jacob's trouble', this Temple will be taken over, as Daniel the prophet foresaw, by the Lawless One, commonly known as the Antichrist, at exactly three and one half years after the start of the Time of Jacob's Trouble. The Antichrist is also prophesied to interfere with the sacrifices being made in the Temple once it has been rebuilt:

And he shall enter into a strong and firm covenant with the many for one week [seven years]. And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and offering to cease [for the remaining three and one-half years]; and upon the wing or pinnacle of abominations [shall come] one who makes desolate, until the full determined end is poured out on the desolator. (Daniel 9:27 – Amplified Version)

Clearly the rebuilding of the 3rd Temple reflects how close we are to the fulfillment of all the other Biblical prophecies relating to the end times, especially the chaotic 7 years of time commonly described as Daniel’s 70th week, and ultimately the return of Jesus Christ to rule the earth in righteousness, peace and justice, as prophesied by the prophet Isaiah:

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this (Isaiah 9:6, 7).

Islamist Village Slated for Texas Has Islamist Ties

The Islamic Association of North Texas, also known as the Dallas Central Mosque, has deleted its webpage discussing its “Islamic Village Project” after a blog wrote about the group’s radical ties.

The IANT had a page about its “Islamic Village Project” on its website, along with a YouTube video, as far back as December 2012. After a blog discussed the organization’s Islamist history, the IANT deleted the page and ended public access to the YouTube video.

According to the deleted page, the “self-sufficient neighborhood” would have an educational complex under the leadership of Imam Yusuf Ziya Kavakci, the Scholar-in-Residence for IANT. IANT’s goal would be to generate over $1 million in revenue annually, in part by leasing over 60,000 square feet of space.

According to his bio, Kavakci is a member of the Shura Council of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group that is a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity according to the Justice Department and the Muslim Brotherhood’s own documents.

The government labeled it an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism-financing trial in U.S. history, that of the Holy Land Foundation. When a federal judge upheld the designation in 2009 because of “ample” evidence tying ISNA to the Brotherhood/Hamas network, he noted that the Holy Land Foundation “operated from within ISNA” and financed Hamas through a bank account it held with ISNA.

Kavakci’s bio also says he is a member of the Fiqh Council of North America, an affiliate of ISNA. It was previously an official branch of ISNA. When the Clarion Project reviewed the members of the Fiqh Council, we found that 14 of the 17 officials have strong Islamist backgrounds.

Although Kavakci says he does not follow the Wahhabist interpretation of Islam, he praises the preaching of Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yousef al-Qaradawi and Hassan al-Turabi, the leader of the Brotherhood in Sudan that has been dubbed "The Pope of Terrorism." He was also a speaker at a tribute in 2004 to Ayatollah Khomeini which called him a “Great Islamic Visionary.”

The Creeping Sharia blog says the director of IANT is Nabil Elibiary and that he is the father of Mohamed Elibiary, currently a senior advisor to the Department of Homeland Security. There is a long list of disturbing facts about Mohamed Elibiary, including his support for the Muslim Brotherhood, meetings with relatives of Hamas leaders and intimate ties to the Holy Land Foundation.

In 1999, the Journal of Counterterrorism and Security International wrote that the Dallas Central Mosque/IANT under Kavakci’s spiritual leadership is “considered to be one of the most active centers of Hamas activity in the United States and hosts the leadership and members of both the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) and the Holy Land Foundation (HLF). Both organizations are the primary conduits for Hamas activity and fundraising in the United States.”

The HLF was shut down for financing Hamas after the 9/11 attacks. The IAP was created by the Muslim Brotherhood to support Hamas in the U.S. The IAP was successfully sued in 2004 because its support for Hamas contributed to the killing of an American in Israel in 1996. It has been defunct since 2005.

As for the teaching at the mosque itself, the Dallas Morning News reported in 2005 that the youth had been quizzed on the teachings of Sayyid Qutb, one of the most influential Islamists in history. He was a Brotherhood cleric that inspired Osama Bin Laden.

A 2005 study by Freedom House about Saudi Arabia’s promotion of radical thinking in U.S. mosques found that the “Richardson Mosque,” another name for the Dallas Central Mosque/IANT, was a recipient.

One item discovered was a fatwa, or official Islamic ruling, published and distributed by the Saudi government states:

“It is not right for a Muslim to support the unbelievers, or to ask them to support him against his enemies, they are the enemy, do not trust them … Muslims should not be recruited into their Army, whether they are Arabs or non-Arabs, because the unbeliever is the enemy of the believer.”

A book published by the Saudi government quoted Saudi King Fahd as saying, “[We] consider ourselves to be in a continuous war against the Zionist enemy until we achieve the hopes of the Arab nation driving the occupier out.”

Another text found at IANT’s mosque was published by the Saudi-backed Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America Research Center. It teaches that detailed fatwas are necessary for Muslims in the West because of the risk that they will fall “prey to foreign ideologies” due to “Western colonial power manipulation through education.”

Yet another Saudi government publication found at the mosque taught that Arab nationalism was “created by Westerners and Christians to fight Islam and to destroy it in its own home.” It teaches against nationalism in general as “an apparent aberration, a flagrant ignorance, and a malicious plan against Islam and its people” because it divides Muslims.

Freedom House also found a text that discourages Muslims from reinterpreting their religious teachings “to conform to what came to be known as the Western tradition.”

The publication by the aforementioned Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in America Research Center warned that Muslims in the West had “blindly accepted this subordinate position and exposed themselves to some of the worst of the world’s forms of manipulation.”

One would have hoped that Muslims in the West would have discarded the extremist teachings of the Muslim Brotherhood, Saudi Wahhabism, Qutb and al-Turabi, yet, instead, the Islamist ideology continues to permeate.

And now, if IANT is successful in its endeavors, a purveyor of these teachings will have its own “Islamic Village” with an income of over $1 million every single year.

Chinese authorities have been accused of an anti-Christian crackdown after ripping down a church in ‘the Jerusalem of the East’.

The nation’s Communist party keeps a tight grip on religion, fearing challenges to its authority, but allows worship at state-controlled churches.

Thousands of protesters have spent weeks as a human shield around the Protestant Sanjiang church in Wenzhou, south east China, after officials claimed it was four times the permitted size.

Last week, the church’s leaders reportedly struck a deal with the government to save the building, completed in 2013.

But today four excavators were sent to demolish the symbolic landmark.

It is one of 10 planned demolitions in the region, which has become a stronghold for the marginalised religion.

Christians blasted the move as a ‘barbaric campaign’ by Communist leaders to suppress their culture.

If two Democratic lawmakers have their way, Barack Obama’s Justice Department will submit a report for action against any Internet sites, broadcast, cable television or radio shows determined to be advocating or encouraging “violent acts.”

This according to the text of a new bill from Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y.

The Hate Crime Reporting Act of 2014 “would create an updated comprehensive report examining the role of the Internet and other telecommunications in encouraging hate crimes based on gender, race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation and create recommendations to address such crimes,” stated a news release from Markey’s office.

The one-page bill, reviewed by WND, calls for the Justice Department and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights to “analyze information on the use of telecommunications, including the Internet, broadcast television and radio, cable television, public access television, commercial mobile services, and other electronic media, to advocate and encourage violent acts and the commission of crimes of hate.”

The current administration’s policy of appeasement has been met with increasing hostility by the Chinese and other rivals.

Despite having a defense treaty with the Philippine’s, the US government has failed to respond to China’s seizure of the Scarborough Shoal and menacing the Second Thomas Shoal, another Philippine possession.

Similarly, Beijing is challenging Japan’s control over the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea and even making territorial claims on Okinawa.

Additionally, China has threatened Japanese and South Korean airspace and waterways, an attack on the principle of free maritime navigation and an act of aggression against these countries.

While the US responds to China’s antagonism with placation, Beijing answers with contempt.

When China sold North Korea mobile missile launchers capable of delivering ICBM’s, the US shied away from publicly condemning China’s government.

Shockingly, these very missile launchers have increased Pyongyang’s ability to strike targets in the US!

Consider also, Iran.

Iran’s nuclear chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, recently insisted upon Iran’s right to enrich uranium to 90%, thus furtively admitting that they are building a nuclear bomb.

In the face of a failed policy in Iran, the US changed its expectation from preventing Iran’s nuclear bomb production in “many years” to “six months”, according to John Kerry.

Additionally, the interim deal with Iran relaxed economic sanctions allowing a resurgence of the Iranian economy. Iran is now exporting 1.65 million barrels of oil a day rather than the 1 million agreed upon in the deal.

Instead of encouraging the mullah’s to shelve the nuclear aspirations of Iran, not only are they successfully building a bomb, they are rebuilding their economy.

So is the current policy a failure? Or a success as the current administration would have us believe?

Elsewhere in the Middle East, al- Qaida, is openly meeting under the leadership of Nasiral-Wuhayshi, second in command of the terror organization.

Wuhayshi directly threatened the US, saying, “We must eliminate the cross…and the bearer of the cross is America.” This meeting with hundreds of terrorist in Yemen was featured on a jihadist website.

This rise in al-Qaida activity follows last year’s suspension of drone strikes designed to eliminate targets with minimal collateral deaths and no “boots on the ground.”

Let’s not forget Syria.

Despite an agreement to destroy his country’s chemical weapons arsenal, Bashar Assad is now behind schedule and as late as April 12th, using the weapons against his citizens, again!

“As for Europe, the Obama administration’s responses to Russia’s annexation of Crimea and to its acts of aggression against Ukraine bespeak a lack of seriousness and dangerous indifference to the fate of the US alliance structure in Eastern Europe,” Stated Glick.

As Russian forces penetrated Ukraine, the US sent food to Ukraine and an unarmed warship to the Black Sea. Economic sanctions imposed against Russia have been mild and so far unsuccessful.

After six weeks, since the initial annexation by Russia of Crimea, the US is finally deploying 600 troops to the Baltic states for “military exercises” meant to show” European allies, and Moscow, the level of concern the US has for the situation!”

As contempt for the US authority grows, aggressors are emboldened and millions of lives hang in the balance.

Perhaps the most puzzling aspect of these developments is the lack luster response of not only the current administration, but of Congress as well, on both sides of the aisle.

As much as President Obama, and his senior officials, shuttle from country to country with the goal of reassuring nervous allies that trust in US security guarantees is still valid, the allies do not seem to be buying it!

This lack of trust led Israeli officials to openly state, for the first time, that the US cannot be depended upon to either secure Israel’s eastern frontier or to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

And it is because of this that South Korea, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, are considering acquiring their own nuclear weapons!

Not only is the US government apathetic about the aggression among these American foes, the American people also seem indifferent to these global events.

Clearly, the world is an increasingly dangerous place, and growing more hazardous daily, possibly the closest to WW III it has been since 1939.

Why does America not recognize the growing threats on the global stage? Some wonder, do Americans care about the rest of the world at all?

The direction of the United States of America must rapidly be changed or the nation faces increasing strategic threats and retreat from any ability to lead, even “from behind.”
