Iranian foreign ministry spokesman reported Wednesday that an official protest had been lodged with the UN for eight alleged US violations of Iranian air space in the month of October. Tehran asked the UN Security Council and secretary general in two letters to notify the US of the complaint. Only one incident was made public, the attack on a US drone by two Iranian fighters over the Gulf on Nov. 1, he said. DEBKAfile: Washington reported that attack as taking place in international skies.

Boycott? UK Bans Israel's SodaStream Ads

SodaStream Israel, a favorite target of the BDS Israel boycott movement, must remove a video commercial in Britain because it allegedly disparages other soda manufacturers.

SodaStream manufactures and distributes machines for home use to make carbonated drinks, eliminating the need to buy environmentally unfriendly plastic bottles.

It also operates a plant in Mishor Adumim, located between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, an area claimed by the Palestinian Authority.

The factory is considered a political and moral sin by the BDS movement, which also promotes the boycott of Motorola, Naot footwear and Ahava products -- all because their plants, which employ Arabs, are located beyond the 1949 Temporary Armistice Lines drawn by the United Nations after the Arab world failed to annihilate the fledgling Jewish State.

Arutz Sheva asked SodaStream if an anti-Israel sentiment was behind the ban, but company officials have not responded

Britain, which formerly has banned Ministry of Tourism ads for daring to show that Jerusalem is part of Israel, now has pulled the video commercial off the air, allegedly because it ridicules companies such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi.

The 30-second commercial shows soft drink bottles disappearing while people at home use their SodaStream machines.

“With SodaStream you can save 1,000 bottles per year,” says the commercial.

British authorities do not buy it. Despite the pro-environment message, they argue that unfairly disparages bottled drink manufacturers, although the United States, Australia and even boycott-strong Sweden have allowed the ad to go on the air.

Britain’s Clearcast authority stated, “The majority decided that the ad could be seen to tell people not to go to supermarkets and buy soft drinks, [and] instead help to save the environment by buying a SodaStream.” It was also told that the pitch constituted “denigration of the bottled-drinks market.

SodaStream will appeal the decision next week.

"This decision is absurd, and the explanation given is totally unreasonable," said SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum, quoted by Globes.

"Are we really being censored for helping to save the environment? This might be the first time in the world when an environmental approach has been shut down by the media to protect a traditional industry. Of course we're competing with bottled beverages, but why is offering a game-changing approach denigrating? It is like saying that iPod ads denigrate the Walkman or that car ads denigrated the horse and buggy. Clearcast's decision is disappointing and disturbing for any democratic society."

"With global recycling rates estimated to be less than 30%, more than 1 billion of those bottles and cans are dumped as waste across parks, oceans and landfills every single day," concluded Birnbaum.

"Our ad confronts the beverage industry and its arguably outdated business model by showing people that there exists a smarter way to enjoy soft drinks, empowering them to get the bubbles without the bottles."

Report: Iran Building Powerful Nuclear Device

Iran is planning to build a nuclear bomb with at least triple the force of the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima in World War II, diagrams obtained by the Associated Press indicates. According to AP, the diagrams were first discovered by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) scientists after an inspection of an Iranian nuclear facility. The document was published by the AP Tuesday after, the news agency said, it was leaked by officials critical of the way the West has been handling the Iran issue.

The diagrams discovered by the IAEA show Iranian scientists calculating the desired "nuclear explosive yield" in a device they were apparently working on. IAEA inspectors described the diagrams in a report, and a senior official who is working with the Geneva-based UN organization confirmed that the diagrams obtained by AP were the same ones mentioned in the report.

The diagrams showed a scientific calculation of the expected yield of a nuclear device, with a maximum force of 50 kilotons, experts who saw the AP diagrams said. There was no possibility that the diagrams referred to a process other than construction of a nuclear weapon, the experts said.

If Iran is indeed designing a nuclear weapon with a 50 kiloton yield, it will be significantly stronger than the bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan during World War II, which were only 15 kilotons powerful. Nuclear weapons held by the U.S., Russia, and other countries are significantly stronger than a bomb with a 50 kiloton yield.

Iran, meanwhile, said Tuesday that it had filed complaints with the United Nations over what it said were violations of its airspace by U.S. planes. Iran said that U.S. planes and drones had violated Iranian airspace eight times in October.

“In two separate letters to the United Nations secretary general (Ban Ki-moon) and the United Nations Security Council, Iran has mentioned the cases of violation of its airspace and has called on these international bodies to warn U.S. officials about this issue so that we will not witness the repetition of such incidents and the violation of Iranian airspace in the future,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Tuesday. Any country that violates Iranian airspace, he said, could expect “strong measures” to be taken against their planes or drones.

Muslims Claim Bibi to Build ‘False’ Holy Temple

Al Aqsa officials warn that the “new Likud” is planning to build a “false” Third Holy Temple and divide the Muslim compound.

Muslim paranoia of Jews on the Temple Mount had reached panic stages even before this week’s Likud primaries that placed Jewish Leadership faction leader Moshe Feiglin in a ranking that assures his election to the Knesset in January.

Arab world media constantly report of Jewish “invasions” of the Temple Mount every time Jews try to ascend the holy site. Israeli authorities enforce the Muslim Waqf policy that forbids Jews to pray there or carry prayer books or other holy articles with them.

The Palestinian Authority and the Islamic Movement’s branch in the Galilee frequently claim that Israel is digging underneath the Temple Mount to cause its collapse.

Now, the Al Aqsa Foundation has pointed to the popular support for Feiglin and other strong nationalists of the Likud as proof that Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount will be “contaminated” by Jews.

Worst of all, the Foundation claims that the election results show that Prime Minister Netanyahu soon will announce plans for building the Third Temple, which it describes as “false," in line with increasingly popular Muslim ideology that the First and Second Temples never existed.

All of the “evidence” is “undeniable proof that the Al Aqsa mosque is in danger and that the Muslim world must shoulder the responsibility to save it,” according to Al Aqsa.

Feiglin is known for his desire to pray on the Temple Mount, and after the Pillar of Defense counter terrorist operation, he wrote, “We must expel the Muslim Waqf from the Temple Mount and restore exclusive Israeli sovereignty over the Mount – Judaism's most holy site. We must encourage Jews to ascend the Temple Mount after the proper halakhic preparations and to actualize their sovereignty over the beating heart of the Jewish Nation.”

Atom Smasher Creates New Kind of Matter
The new kind of matter is called color-glass condensate, and is a liquidlike wave of gluons, which are elementary particles related to the strong force that sticks quarks together inside protons and neutrons (hence they are like "glue"). Scientists didn't expect this kind of matter would result from the type of particle collisions going on at the Large Hadron Collider at the time. However, it may explain some odd behavior seen inside the machine, which is a giant loop where particles race around underneath Switzerland and France.

Major earthquakes can trigger faraway 'slow-slip' events
These findings, detailed online Sept. 11 in the Journal of Geophysical Research-Solid Earth, shed light on how earthquake zones might communicate with each other over large distances, scientists added. The cluster of devastating earthquakes that rocked the globe during the past decade from Japan to Sumatra to Haiti is one reason why scientists are investigating whether temblors in different parts of the world are linked to one another.

The officials provided the diagram only on condition that they and their country not be named.

Is God An End or is He a Means?

And then we come to another well-known person, the Lord Jesus Christ, who was a failure according to all the standards. He never succeeded in organizing a church or denomination. He wasn't able to build a school. He didn't succeed in getting a mission board established. He never had a book printed. He never was able to get any of the various criteria or instruments that we find are so useful -- I'm not being sarcastic at all, they are useful. And our Lord preached for three years, healed thousands of people, fed thousands of people, and yet when it was all over there were 120..., 500, to whom he could have revealed Himself after His resurrection. And the day that He was taken, one man said, "If all the others forsake you, I'm willing to die for you." He looked at this one and said "Peter you don't know your own heart. You're going to deny me three times before the cock crows this morning." So all men forsook Him and fled. By every standard of our generation or any generation, our Lord was a single failure.

The question comes then to this, what is the standard of success and by what are we going to judge our lives and our ministry? And the question that you are going to ask yourself, "Is God an end or is He a means?" Our generation is prepared to honor successful choices. As long as a person can get things done or get the job done then our generation is prepared to say well done.

A painting that was removed from an art installation in New York City because of public backlash is now on display at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery, sparking outrage as well as an outpouring of support for the artist. The portrait depicts President Obama as Jesus, wearing a Crown of Thorns with his arms outstretched.

Michael D’Antuono’s painting, which is called “The Truth,” is part of a larger exhibit “Artists on the Stump: The Road to the White House 2012.” According to the gallery’s website, the exhibition is an opportunity for artists to “weigh in on the issues, candidates and country.”

The showcase, which opened Oct. 29 and is scheduled to end Dec. 15, features work by more than 20 artists.

"Some of our shows are meant to be thought provoking," said Karen Norton, spokeswoman for Bunker Hill Community College. "The exhibit was intended to coincide with the presidential election, and it represents different points of view pertaining to politics and our political leaders."

Laura L. Montgomery, who is the director of the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery, did not respond to a phone call or email from The Globe.

D’Antuono, who has been an illustrator for nearly 25 years, began crafting political works of art in 2009. “The Truth” was his first piece, which he had planned to display as an art installation in New York’s Union Square Park on Obama’s 100th day in office.

He said the painting was to be in a mock voting booth; the idea was members of the public would view the painting privately, and they would then be interviewed about what they thought of the piece. But D’Antuono decided to pull the installation after receiving approximately 4,000 angry emails about the painting. His family also voiced concerns for their safety, because of the amount of publicity the painting was generating.
