Goliath’s City Is More Than Myth
Until this summer, decades of excavations at the ancient Philistine city of Gath had failed to uncover structural remains from the time of young David’s famous victory against Goliath. Now, as if by chance, excavations have uncovered a hitherto unknown layer at biblical Gath (Tell es-Safi). The initial results show that this older city is better and, let’s say, more gigantic than anything discovered so far.

European Superstate: A Massive Expansion Of Central Power Coming Soon
Former German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen has been narrowly confirmed as the next President of the European Commission, the powerful administrative arm of the European Union. An examination of von der Leyen’s policy proposals, reveals that she is calling for a massive expansion of top-down powers of the European Commission. Her proposals would substantially increase the role of Brussels in virtually all aspects of economic and social life in Europe — all at the expense of national sovereignty. She wants to build a centralized, undemocratic, updated form of Communism that will render [obsolete] nation state parliaments, where the state controls everything, where nation state parliaments will cease to have any relevance at all.

The Laodicean Evangelical Professing Christian Church Is Turning Gay And Embracing LGBTQ+ Movement As The Great Falling Away Nearly Complete
…one of the problems with such a vast expanse of news and information is the news cycle is so short that we forget the older stuff and new stuff comes in. Such is the case with the incredible rush by the Laodicean professing Christian church to 1). embrace the LGBTQ+P for Pedophile community and affirm them in that lifestyle, and 2). pastors and other Laodicean church leaders who have actually come out as gay. There have been a lot of these stories, but as time goes on we forget

Beauty Salons Being Shut Down for Refusing Wax Services to Transgenders

You might think this is another story about transgender activism. And in a way, it is. But at an even deeper level, this is a story about postmodernism. Stick with me on this.

Canada's National Post recently reported that a British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal heard the case of Jessica Yaniv, who accused a home beauty salon owner of illegal discrimination.

The owner refused to give Yaniv a Brazilian wax. If you don't know that term, it means the complete removal of hair from, well, sensitive areas.

Yaniv is a transgender woman. In other words, Yaniv is biologically and anatomically male, identifies as a woman, and has not undergone any kind of surgical transition.

Salon owner Marcia Da Silva normally offers this service to women.

She told the tribunal that she has no problem with LGBT individuals, and that she'd even be okay offering her services to a biological man who'd already surgically transitioned.

But she was not comfortable working on male body parts.

She was so shaken by the incident, she chose to shut down her business. And she's not the first victim.

Apparently, Yaniv is something of an activist. He's filed over a dozen civil rights complaints against salons who refused to wax him.

According to the National Post, while some of these cases have been dropped or settled, Da Silva's case went to hearing, where Yaniv compared her to a Neo-Nazi, and said that if she wasn't forced to give him the wax he wanted, it would set a "dangerous" precedent.

Now, we could talk about how this circus is the inevitable result of LGBT ideology, and how, once again, the "how will my private choice affect you?" line has been demonstrated false.

To paraphrase one popular Twitter user, we sure escalated quickly from "bake my cake."

It's important to notice that the crusade of this narcissistic individual is based on the same claim made by those who sued Jack Philips: that a business should not discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

Well, if that's really a principle courts and tribunals want to enforce, it won't just apply to gay wedding cakes. It will mean compelling beauty salon owners to do and see things in way that amounts to a sexual violation.

While transgenderism is certainly one of the branches bearing this new troubling fruit of violating other's consciences, decency, and innocence, it's not the root. The root idea is an older idea: postmodernism.

At its heart, postmodernism posits that neither revelation nor reason can give us the story of reality.

In fact, according to postmodernism, there is no universal, discernible story of reality. Truth is a social construct for the postmodernist, even observable truths like male and female.

External, seemingly objective facts are, to the postmodernist, clouded by our endless interpretations, which are shaped by our own experiences and cultural biases, and whatever meanings we want to attach to them.

Postmodernists hold that certain viewpoints and interpretations have been oppressed and disempowered.

So, for the last few decades, there's been a concerted effort to elevate and prioritize those viewpoints, whether they correspond to reality or not.

This is how people like Marcia Da Silva find themselves dragged before human rights tribunals for not landscaping male genitalia.

Somehow, in a strange ideological twist of reality, she is the oppressor, and Yaniv is the oppressed.

This is exactly what's happened wherever a postmodern worldview has been applied - in the name of elevating a viewpoint, another one is oppressed.

Of course, Yaniv may have never even read a postmodern philosopher.

But bad ideas can become entrenched and unquestioned in our minds and our culture in all kinds of ways.

And as long as we're committed to reality being something individuals can never really know, but can always remake and impose on others, the victims of these bad ideas will continue to multiply, and the demands will become ever more nakedly absurd.

A Sacrifice of Peace - Offering - Leviticus 3:1

Categories: Commentary;Inspirational;Book Study

In the burnt-offering the priest burnt all, but in the peace-offering a part only was burned, "the fat, kidneys, and caul." The inner parts were consumed as God's portion, whilst Aaron and his sons fed on the breast and the shoulder. In that feast God and the priests participated; and it is an emblem of our participation in the joy of God, over the person and work of Jesus.

Think of this blessed feast with God. We who were once far off in the wicked and hostile imaginings, are now made nigh; we sit at God's table as His children, and hear Him say, Let us make merry and be glad; this My son was dead, and is alive again.

We have Peace with God. - We are justified by faith in Jesus. In Him we stand before God, accepted and beloved. The curse is exchanged for blessing; distance for presence; the husks of the swine for the fatted calf. The past is forever under the blood; above us is the clear heaven of God's love.

We have the Peace of God. - The very peace that fills our Father's heart, undisturbed by the storms of care and strife which sweeps this lower world, is ours also. We sit in heavenly places; His peace, like a sentry, keeps our hearts and minds against molestation; the peace of God rules in us, bringing every thought into subjection to itself. We have perfect peace because our mind is stayed on Him.

We have the God of Peace. - According to the Apostle's fervent hope and prayer, He is with us. Not the gift, but the Giver; not I, but He; not the river only, but the source. We may well open our doors to admit such a guest, in having whom we received the Author and Giver of concord, unity, and unbroken rest.

A Generation of School Teachers Who See Their Jobs As Political Advocacy

If you ever wondered if our children's educational system was politically biased, then look no further than the National Education Association (NEA). It is unashamedly leftist, aggressively for abortion, decidedly pro-LGBT, and unapologetically hostile to those who dare challenge the status quo.

Still, we are sometimes blissfully (and even willfully) ignorant of just how politicized our children's schools can be. But this email, sent to me by a school teacher, the wife of a Facebook friend, will help shock us back to reality. (We'll call her Sarah.)

Sadly, I have heard an endless stream of similar stories for years now. This is just the freshest in my mind.

Sarah copied a tweet from another teacher, then wrote:

Hello Dr. Brown. This is what has happened to my profession. Please note the rainbow flag and how many likes this received. I can tell you that this not isolated. I'm a K-6 teacher who has taught public school in Florida, Nevada, and California. It is pervasive.

I now teach through a public virtual charter school which allows parents more voice. At my last teaching position before I moved to the charter, the principal called a staff meeting where he told us that we would teach LGBTQ "inclusion" beginning in Kindergarten, that he believed one of our Pre-K students may be LGBTQ because for "Dress like a prince or princess day" she wanted to be a prince.

Also in this staff meeting he let us know that if a student OR a parent had a problem with us teaching LGBTQ that we should send them to the principal's office so he could "tell them how they are wrong". Can you imagine being a Christian Kindergartner being sent to the principal's office to be bullied into LGBTQ submission? This is why I encourage everyone I speak with to homeschool, or choose an alternative form of schooling if they can.

Yes, this is the kind of pressure Sarah was under teaching in an elementary school. (One first-grade teacher talked to me about the pro-LGBT pressure she was under, explaining that to resist it was to lose her job -- teaching first grade!) Can you imagine what the atmosphere is like in high-schools?

A Teacher Who Sees His Job as Political Advocacy

The tweet Sarah was referring to was posted by Jed Dearbury and read:

"New teachers, I'm sorry if we veteran educators have misguided you about the profession. It's not about cute classrooms & trendy ideas. It's political. It's advocacy. It's the front line of battle for the future of our nation. Go no further if you're not ready."

Related Dearybury tweets included: "If your definition of teacher leadership doesn't include actively being a voice for marginalized students, it's past time to rewrite your philosophy."

And, "If the reason you don't like to speak up on social justice issues on social media is because this account is your 'professional educator' account, Guess what... professional educators should be advocating for social justice because students are counting you to do so."

Now, I fully understand that, from Dearbury's perspective, he is doing the right thing. The noble thing. The courageous thing.

He believes it is his duty, along with the duty of other educators, to get political and to advocate for social justice causes, not just in the classroom but on social media and elsewhere.

And I imagine that if he and I ever sat down together, he would explain to me why teachers must stand up for perceived LGBT rights and other socially divisive causes. In his words, "It's the front line of battle for the future of our nation."

I understand he feels that way, and I have no desire to demonize him as a person.

I simply reject his premises, categorically and from the heart.

Liberal Indoctrination Doesn't Belong at School

First, parents are not sending their children to school to be indoctrinated by politically correct teachers. They're not sending their kids to discover the definition of gender queer. Or to hear a revisionist retelling of American history. Or to understand the evils of toxic masculinity. Or to master the intricacies of intersectionality.

They're sending their kids to learn to read and write and do math. To get a grasp of geography and science and world literature. To learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln (without speculating on their sexuality -- yes, there are gay activists who want to claim both of them as gay!).

Second, the educational industry has no business pressuring teachers or students or parents to conform to its leftist ideologies.

Really now, why on earth should the NEA take a public stance on abortion, for example? What does this have to do with the so-called three R's?
