Joy cometh in the morning
Feb 7th, 2015
Morning Meditation
C. H. Spurgeon
Categories: Meditation

Christian if you are in a time of trial, think of the future. Lift up your heart with the thought of the coming of your Lord. Be patient because He comes with clouds descending. Be patient! The husbandman waits until He reaps His harvest. Jesus said, "behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give to every man according as his work shall be" Rev. 22:12.

Your life may be full of troubles now, but it will soon be free from care. Your garments may be soiled with dust now, but they will be white soon. Wait a little longer. How trivial our trials will seem when we look back on them! Looking at them here in the present, they seem immense. Let us go on boldly. If the night is dark, the morning is coming, which is more than they can say who are shut up in the darkness of hell.

Do you know what it is to live on expecation--to anticipate heaven? Happy believer, it may be all dark now, but it will soon be light. It may be all trial now, but it will soon be all happiness! What does it matter though "weeping may endure for a night," when "joy cometh in the morning"? - C. H. Spurgeon
