The Birth of Christ

At this season of the year we celebrate the Birth of Christ, but we do not just celebrate the birth of a baby in Bethlehem so many years ago. Many billions of human babies have been born, but what we celebrate is the incarnation of God in human flesh.

This baby had no human father from which to receive the sinful rebellious nature of man. He received His humanity from Mary His mother. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit making Him not only human but Divine, God in Flesh. "They shall call His name Immanuel, which is being interpreted, God With Us" Mt. 1:23.

Jesus was 100% man and 100% God. When Jesus walked the streets, God walked the streets, when He spoke, God spoke. When he healed the sick and fed the multitudes, it was God who healed and fed the people. When he calmed the storm, it was God who brought the calm. When He was arrested and beaten, it was God whom they were abusing. When they arrested Him and put a crown of thorns on His head and nails in His hands and feet, it was God whom they were mocking and brutalizing.

Their actions were all within the permissive will of God! He had a plan and a purpose in it all. Luke explains God's Plan, "For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord" (Luke 2:11). Salvation has been provided for all on the cross, but all do not receive it.

Jesus explains this in Luke 13:3 "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." Paul said, "For by grace are ye saved through Faith," Eph. 2:8,

Are we saved by repentace or by faith? The answer is that we are saved by grace through faith." The Grace (provision) of Salvation came from God and God alone, but Faith moves the hand of God to save us. Repentance is the evidence that our Faith is True Saving Faith! The evidence that our faith is guenuine.

No True Joy, no True Peace can be yours unless and until you receive Christ as your Lord and Savior by Faith. This is the single most important issue of your whole life.
