Israeli warplanes early Tuesday morning struck Hamas arms depots in northern and southern Gaza in response to Palestinian rocket fire on southern Israel a day earlier.
During the early evening hours on Monday, a Palestinian rocket fired from Hamas-ruled Gaza landed between two communities in southern Israel, causing no injuries or damage.
The Israeli response came during hours when the terrorist arms depots were devoid of personnel.
The Israeli army confirmed the aerial strikes later on Tuesday, and insisted that it "will not tolerate attacks from terror organizations on the State of Israel's territory and will continue to operate with a firm hand against any attempt to disrupt the calm in Israel's towns and the south of the country."
