“The Israeli president tells the Egyptian president that Israel has no intentions of building a temple on the Temple Mount”
by Jimmy DeYoung
November 23rd, 2009
At a meeting in Cairo, Egypt, Israeli President Shimon Peres told the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak that the Israeli government has no intentions of building a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and he is sorry for the frequent rumors and lies that keep creating fabricated crises. Mubarak said that Jerusalem is not only a Palestinian problem but a pan-Arab problem and Israel will suffer if a just solution is not found for the final status of Jerusalem.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

The statement by the Israeli president that Israel has no intentions of building a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem may be Israeli government policy but it contradicts Bible prophecy.

The continuing conflict about the status of the city of Jerusalem is always on any agenda of the meetings between Israeli leaders and other world leaders. Thus was the case when recently Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak hosted Israeli President Shimon Peres in Cairo, Egypt. Mubarak warned Israel that the status of Jerusalem is not only a Palestinian problem but it is a pan-Arab issue as well and especially the status of the Temple Mount. Over the years, there have been continuing rumors that Jews were going to storm the Temple Mount and build their temple on this sacred holy site. Most of these rumors originating from Moslem sources.

The claim by the Israeli president that the Israeli government has no intentions of building a temple on the Temple Mount may be correct but it indeed does contradict the prophetic scenario for the Temple Mount and the coming temple. 3000 years ago, the Lord promised King David that their would be a temple on the Temple Mount forever (Davidic Covenant - II Samuel 7). The Jewish prophet Zechariah revealed that the Messiah would come one day to build that temple (Zechariah 1:16; 6:12-13). The priest-prophet Ezekiel described the temple that Jesus will build in the future kingdom to come on the Temple Mount (Ezekiel 40-46).

Though the Israeli government has no intentions of building a temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, Bible prophecy says there will be a temple there and may be very soon. Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.
