“Revelation 10:9-11 Exploring Revelation”

Last week we read about John eating the scroll, it was sweet as honey in his mouth. The Salvation that Christ gives is sweet in our lives. Verse 10 says, "as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter", John was actually tasting the vial judgments which were about to fall upon the earth. The final, and awful judgments will bring total devastion to the earth. When these judgments are over all of the unsaved will have been removed from the earth. The rebellious sons of Adam will be plunged into the eternal fires of hell! That grieves the loving heart of God, it grieves the loving heart of John and it grieves our hearts as well. the prospect is bitter to contemplate.

Paul states it clearly in 11 Corinthians 2:15,16 "For we unto God a sweet savour of Christ in them that are saved, and in them that perish; To the one we the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?"

The one who preaches the gospel experiences this great truth, when someone respond to the gospel and receives Christ there is joy and rejoicing. When there is no response there is a feeling grief. We have a word of comfort in Revelation 21:4, God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes.

"And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings." verse 11. A tremendous responsibility is laid upon the Apostle John as he is commanded to prophesy to many peoples. To understand the message of God concerning what lies ahead entails the responsibility to proclaim it far and wide. You and I share in this responsibility, we are to proclaim the message of life and death to all around us,

God said through Ezekiel, "Son of man, I have made thee a watchman..." "When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand." Ezekiel 3:18.

Believers, prophecy is not to tickle your interst and imagination, it is to challenge us to rise to an awesome responsibilty, When you recieve the message of this book you are forever held responsible to sound it far and wide.

Unbeliever, what will you do with the message of life? Right now you must answer, to delay is to reject life and choose death. Choose life and come to Christ in repentance and faith and do it now.

"He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:18
