1,000-year-old Hebrew Bible revealed in Washington, D.C.
A 1,000-year-old Hebrew Bible, which experts estimate was written in the 10th century in Tiberias, was unveiled to the public on Thursday at the Museum of the Bible. Called the “Washington Pentateuch,” this is one of the oldest, intact Hebrew Bible manuscripts of our time. It contains the entire five books of the Torah and was in a private collection for the last 40 years until it was acquired by the museum two years ago.

Australia bushfires: Record number of emergencies in New South Wales
Australian authorities say an “unprecedented” number of emergency-level bushfires are threatening the state of New South Wales (NSW). More than 90 blazes were raging across the state on Friday. Gusty winds and up to 35C heat have exacerbated the fires, many of which are in drought-affected areas.

England flooding: Homes evacuated as rain causes travel chaos
People have been evacuated from their homes and there is chaos on the roads and trains after torrential downpours flooded parts of northern England. Iran earthquake: Five killed and hundreds injured
At least five people have been killed and hundreds more injured in an earthquake in north-western Iran, officials say. The 5.9-magnitude tremor struck in the early hours of Friday in East Azerbaijan province, Iran’s Seismological Center said. Most of the injuries were caused by crowd stampedes, state-run TV reports.

Iranian forces shot down a drone belonging to a foreign country on Friday, state news agency IRNA reported, quoting an Iranian official. “The downed drone definitely belonged to a foreign country. Its wreckage has been recovered and is being investigated,” the governor of Iran’s southern Khuzestan province, Gholamreza Shariati, said, according to IRNA.

US warns Iran is preparing a ‘nuclear breakout’

NASA observes Tropical Storm Matmo in North Central Bay of Bengal
On Nov. 7 at 4 a.m. EST (0900 UTC), Matmo had maximum sustained winds near 55 knots (63 mph/102 kph). Matmo was located near latitude 15.0 degrees north and longitude 88.7 degrees east, about 353 nautical miles east-southeast of Visakhapatnam, India. Matmo is moving to the northwest. Threatened landmasses include India and Bangladesh.
