A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit 5 km (3 mi) northwest of Durrës, near the capital Tirana, on Saturday, September 21. The quake struck at approximately 16:10 (local time) at a depth of 10 km (6 mi). According to local media reports, 49 people were being treated for injuries at Tirana’s main hospital.
