Magnitude 5.1 earthquake strikes off the coast of Rhodes
The Athens-based Geodynamic Institute says a magnitude 5.1 earthquake has struck the area west of Greece’s island of Rhodes. The institute reported that the earthquake hit around 11:57 p.m. local time Tuesday with its epicenter located about 27 kilometres northwest of the Dodecanese island. Its depth was measured at 56 kilometers.  

Magnitude 5.3 earthquake strikes northeastern Taiwan
A magnitude 5.3 earthquake jolted northeastern Taiwan at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Bureau. The earthquake's epicenter was located at sea about 116.1 kilometers east of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 64.9 km, bureau officials said.

Indonesia evacuates tourists after volcano eruption
Indonesian authorities have evacuated some 1,100 tourists after a volcano erupted at one of the country's most popular hiking destinations. Mount Barujari on Lombok island erupted on Tuesday, shooting ash 2,000m (6,500 ft) into the air. Officials are still searching for several hundred tourists who remain missing, according to the country's disaster agency.
