Apostasy of Christendom
Apostasy is the rejection of the teaching of God's word, rebellion against God. We are told that in the last days there will be a great apostasy by Christendom. Those days are surely upon us.
The Archbishop of Canterbury made the following statement, "Christian doctrine offends Muslims." His comments came in a highly conciliatory letter to Islamic leaders calling for an alliance between the two faiths for the common good. He went on to say, "The Christian belief in the trinity is difficult, sometimes offensive to Muslims".
The essence of what he said was that we need to abandon God's Word to have peace in the world, that is apostasy, and that is the program and goal of the coming harlot church.
A week prior to that, Anglican Archbishop Alan Harper said, Homosexuality is "natural" for homosexuals and must be accepted by the Church. Again the word of God is set aside and the opinions of men usurp it, that is apostasy. The spirit of the hour says the Word of God must be set aside to bring the world together.
Pope Benedict made the following statement, "We must guard against any temptation to view doctrine as divisive and hence an impediment to the seemingly more pressing and immediate task of improving the world in which we live." The truth is that doctrine, God's Word does divide, to turn away from it is apostasy. To believe nothing is a sure formula for a world church and a formula to unite a world church to a world government.
The days of the great apostasy are surely upon us.
