Saudi Arabia’s oil war against Iran and Russia
This week, oil fell through the price floor of $60 a barrel and gas at my local filling station was $2.26 a gallon. That’s great news for commuters and almost every business, but wonderfully bad news for our ugliest enemies. If oil prices remain low through next year, the effect on rogue governments, from the Russian Federation to Venezuela, will go from damaging to devastating.

Why An Oil Crash Is Exactly What Obama Needs
Reuters As oil goes down, Obama's approval ratings could go up. The historic drop in crude-oil prices is poised to give a clear boost to President Barack Obama both in the US and abroad. "Even President Barack Obama likely would agree that 2014 has been a tough year for him—and he doubtless would welcome a sign that he will catch a break or two in 2015," Gerald Seib, the Washington bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal, wrote on Monday. " Well, here’s one: Low oil prices ... are shaping up as a win-win for the president."

No dogs in heaven: Pope's remarks on afterlife widely misreported
It was a touching story: Pope Francis consoling a distraught boy whose dog had died. The pontiff was said to have reassured the boy, telling him that he would one day see his beloved pet again and that "paradise is open to all of God’s creatures." However, Vatican scholars have deconstructed these reports and it was discovered that Francis' reported comments on November 26, were actually made by a Pope Paul VI several decades ago.
