United States President Barack Obama will hold talks next week with Jordanian King Abdullah II at the White House.
Jordan is a key US ally in the Middle East, particularly as one of five Arab nations participating in US led airstrikes against the Islamic State. The military campaign to counter ISIS in Iraq and Syria will be at the top of the agenda on December 5.
Obama and Abdullah are also expected to address the ongoing civil war in Syria, leading to a refugee crisis in Jordan, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and its latest tensions.
