Congressman Steve Stockman Tuesday introduced legislation to stabilize the Middle East by terminating US funding to certain Palestinian and United Nations groups, expressing US support for greater Israeli control over its territories. Under the “Right of Return Act”, the US would cease funding the Palestinian Authority, as well as the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), whose facilities have been used to launch rocket attacks on Israel.

According to the proposed legislation, the State Department would also call for Israel to be allowed to extend its sovereignty over Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, and for the Arab residents currently residing in those areas to be repatriated and granted citizenship in Jordan, The bill, number H.R.5734, has been referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
