The Albu Nimr tribe, which has been fighting the forces of the “Islamic State” (ISIS) since the beginning of the month finally lost the western Anbar district village of Zawiyat Albu Nimr, tonight (Thursday), reports Reuters.
The ISIS wrested the Sunni village from its tribal defenders as insurgents tightened their siege of the Yazidi minority on a mountain to the north. These attacks are showing the resilience of the Islamic State, even while undergoing airstrikes by the US-led coalition forces.
