Three years after the overthrow of Moammar Gadhafi by NATO-backed rebels, the crumbling of the government continues. At the same time Islamic factions in the country are becoming increasingly attracted to ISIS.

Armed irregular forces already hold power over some areas in Libya. Motivated by religious reasons, they have taken control of oil facilities and weapons, in addition to imposing taxes and changing school curriculums, the National Post reports.
