Polish Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz says she wants a greater military presence in Poland in light of events in Ukraine. The comment came as the US announced it is deploying 700 soldiers and 20 ‘Ironhorse’ tanks across the three Baltic States and Poland.

A patient in Honolulu, Hawaii, has been placed in isolation with suspected Ebola, The Department of Health confirmed on Wednesday. Even though the disease is a possibility, the patient has not yet been specifically tested for it, but is displaying some symptoms. The Hawaii Nurses Association said the person is being treated at The Queen’s Medical Center.  

Ebola outbreak: 'Five infected every hour' in Sierra Leone
A leading charity has warned that a rate of five new Ebola cases an hour in Sierra Leone means healthcare demands are far outstripping supply. It is the world's worst outbreak of the virus, killing 3,338 people so far. There have been 7,178 confirmed cases, with Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea suffering the most. Ebola is spreading across Sierra Leone at a "terrifying rate", with the number of new cases being recorded doubling every few weeks.

Provincial health officials in B.C. are trying to determine if a man and boy with the illness developed paralysis-like symptoms because of the infections. Doctors are watching the two cases but say it's too soon to say if the virus is the cause.

At least this administration is consistent. It will let every one and every thing, including pestilence, cross our border. I bet, if we are patient, the administration will even place Ebola with a nice family somewhere in Middle America and given it government benefits.  

USGS Reports 3.6 Magnitude Earthquake Near Medford
MEDFORD, Oklahoma - The United States Geological Survey reported an earthquake near Medford, Wednesday afternoon. A 3.6 magnitude earthquake was reported at 1:18 p.m., 14 miles west, southwest of Medford and 26 miles north, northwest of Enid. The depth was over three miles.  

Officials: Second person being monitored for Ebola
Health officials are closely monitoring a possible second Ebola patient who had close contact with the first person to be diagnosed in the U.S., the director of Dallas County's health department said Wednesday. All who have been in close contact with the man officially diagnosed are being monitored as a precaution...  

Islamic State: Turkey MPs to vote on Iraq/Syria deployment
The Turkish parliament is to vote on a motion to allow its military to enter Iraq and Syria and foreign troops to use its territory for the operation. Turkey had been unwilling to fight Islamic State (IS) militants because they were holding 46 Turkish hostages but they were released last month. Parliament is expected to back the motion.  

Ukraine rebels renew push to take Donetsk airport
Rebel forces in eastern Ukraine are conducting an offensive to capture the government-held airport in Donetsk, officials say. Pro-Russian rebels have tried several times in recent weeks to take the airport, which lies to the north-west of the city. The insurgents continued an offensive - begun on Wednesday - on "a broad front", the Ukrainian military says.  

Somalia battles al-Shabab for Galgala mountains
Troops in northern Somalia have battled al-Shabab Islamist militants for the Galgala mountains, with both sides claiming to have won. The fighters have been holding the northern mountains for several years. An al-Shabab spokesman told the BBC that after a heavy battle they still controlled the territory in Puntland.  

France 'rejects austerity' in controversial budget
France has put itself on a collision course with its EU partners after rejecting calls for it to adopt further austerity measures to bring its budget deficit in line with EU rules. ...President Francois Hollande's government said that “no further effort will be demanded of the French, because the government — while taking the fiscal responsibility needed to put the country on the right track — rejects austerity.”  

Gas war escalates as Russia halves Slovakia supplies
Russia has cut gas deliveries to Slovakia by half in a bad sign for EU efforts to broker a deal on Ukraine. Prime minister Robert Fico told press...that the drop came without any warning. He said his national distributor...can still "fulfill its commitments" on “reverse flow” to Ukraine and supply customers in Slovakia and the Czech Republic by buying extra volumes on the spot market.  

Turkey pushes for more than 'dropping tons of bombs' on IS
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan pressed the West on Wednesday to find a long-term solution to the crises in Syria and Iraq, saying dropping "tons of bombs" on Islamic State militants would only provide temporary respite.  

China will use gold and gold pricing to force global currency reset
On Sept. 30, statistician and economist Dr. Jim Willie was a guest on the Caravan to Midnight radio show to talk about current financial, economic, and geo-political events. During his three hour interview, Dr. Willie stated that one of the purposes behind China's creation of the new Shanghai gold exchange is to eventually take over global price controls for the monetary metal away from the Comex, and then force a global currency reset by raising the price of gold to its true or actual value.  

Arkansas shooting range declares itself a ‘Muslim Free Zone’
The proprietor of an Arkansas shooting range announced on social media Sunday that she is banning Muslims from her establishment out of fear for the safety of her patrons.

Concerned, US Airlines Contact Government About Ebola
U.S. airlines and their trade group Airlines for America are in close contact with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on actions the U.S. government is taking to address Ebola health concerns, according to a spokesperson for JetBlue.
