The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that Islamic State (IS) militants seized a number of cities and villages in the Aleppo district, near Syria’s border with Turkey.

According to the organization, the cities and villages that were captured were under the control of rebel forces belonging to Bashar Assad’s regime.
