A senior American official said on Sunday night that some of the recent reports in Israel regarding Secretary of State John Kerry’s efforts to establish a ceasefire in Gaza were "inaccurate and included strong language that incorrectly characterized his efforts."
"In some cases blunt language, including accusations of betraying Israel, was used," the senior official said, adding that the drafts presented by Kerry over the weekend were based on the Egyptian initiative for a ceasefire, which Israel had been prepared to accept.
