Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair stated that leaders in an interdependent world must work to end religious conflict or face "catastrophe", as he introduced a new foundation dedicated to interfaith understanding. Religion is as important in this century as political ideolgy was in the last century. What Mr. Blair is saying is that religion and government must come together to solve the worlds problems and without that, the world is headed for disaster.
Mr. Blair is creating a philosophy and a structure for the coming world church to come to power in a union with government and seek to solve the worlds problems and bring peace to the world. This is the laying of the groundwork for what we read about in Revelation 17:3.
Mr. Blair said, in a speech to religious and business leaders, There is a new reality, we have to come to terms with it. And it implies, at its fundamentals, peaceful coexistence or catastrophe. If faith becomes a countervailing force, pulling people apart, then it becomes destructive and indeed dangerous. He is really saying that a union of religions is the key to the new world and that any religion that does not conform to this model is dangerous (can't be tolerated).
It is startling to see Mr. Blair talking about bringing the world's religions together to work in cooperation with political powers to bring about world peace and to solve the world's pressing problems.
Mr. Blair has set up an advisory council made up of Catholics, Jews, Protestants and Muslims. One of the members is Rick Warren who has had his own P.E.A.C.E. program with the same avowed purpose, bringing together the religious people of the world to educate, to solve the problem of hunger, to raise up leaders and to bring peace to the world.
Rick Warren is leading evangelicals straight into the coming world church.
