Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday that the debate over whether Iran should be allowed to produce 20-percent enriched uranium is no longer relevant because the Iranians have advanced to a capacity to jump directly from 3.5 pc to 90 pc – i.e. weapons grade – enrichment. He spoke at the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem. He again called for harsher sanctions against Tehran. Regarding the ongoing negotiations with the Palestinians, Netanyahu said Israel desires a settlement, but will hold out for the satisfaction of its vital interests, especially security.
