Israel says it carried out joint missile test with US in Mediterranean
Israel has acknowledged conducting a joint missile test with the United States in the Mediterranean Sea on Tuesday, responding to reports that Russian radar had detected a missile launch in the direction of the eastern Mediterranean. The Israeli Defence Ministry confirmed to Reuters that the test was conducted at approximately 9:15 a.m. Israel Daylight Time (2:15 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time) Tuesday, about the same time that Russia's Interfax news agency reported that the launch was detected by a radar station at Armavir, near the Black Sea.

Increasing lava emission with pyroclastic flows at Fuego volcano, Guatemala
The volcano has been in moderate effusive activity for at least the past two weeks, feeding relatively small lava flows on the upper steep slope. A sudden increase in effusion rate seems to have caused the destabilization of the lava flows, generating rockfalls that turned into pyroclastic flows. The longest runout distance was reported as 2 km (INSIVUMEH). This is suggested by the appearance of strong tremor pulses the previous night.

Persistent Close Air Support (PCAS)
DARPA created the Persistent Close Air Support (PCAS) program in July 2010 to help address these challenges. PCAS seeks to fundamentally increase CAS effectiveness by enabling dismounted ground agents—Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs)—and combat aircrews to share real-time situational awareness and weapons systems data. The system would enable ground agents to quickly and positively identify multiple targets simultaneously.

Iowa Democrat prayer: Thank God for abortionists!
Hey, this could be progress. About time last year, the Democratic National Convention booed when the platform committee tried to backtrack and add a mention of God that had been earlier removed. In Iowa, at least Democrats have gone back to openly praying, but perhaps they should be hoping that God isn’t listening:

Assad's arsenal: 100,000 missiles and rockets
According to estimates, the Syrian army has in its possession some 100,000 missiles and rockets. Several thousand of them, such as the Scud-D missiles, are considered very powerful and accurate and can reach any target in Israel. President Bashar Assad's army also has Russian-made SS-22 medium-range surface-to-surface ballistic missiles, which can carry some 120 kilograms of explosive material.

AMERICA, SYRIA, AND RUSSIA: OPENING THE GATES OF HELL
The whole world is reacting to President Obama’s decision for America to attack Syria over an alleged chemical attack because Assad’s forces had been accused of using chemical weapons several times in the last year, including the August 21st attack in the suburbs of Damascus. However, a number of news analysts such as Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul have called this a “False Flag” attack. What is happening in Syria will not only affect America, Russia, Great Britain, China, Syria, Iran, and Israel. It will affect the entire world because Syria, controlling major oil assets off its coast, occupies a critical position in the global oil economy.

Did a Volcanic Eruption Induce the Midwest 'Julytober'?
Throughout history, large volcanic eruptions have been known to influence climate. This summer, the Midwest experienced a cold wave referred to as "Julytober" following the June eruption of Mount Sheveluch in Russia. Experts continue to compare this eruption to others from history and debate whether it could have induced the cooler Midwestern weather.

Israel says missile launch was joint drill with US
Russia raised a brief alarm in the Middle East Tuesday after apparently detecting a joint Israel and US missile launch test in the Mediterranean. Israel’s Defense Ministry confirmed that it carried out a test of an Anchor missile, which was meant as a test of radar systems. The missile is launched from the air.

Missiles launched in Mediterranean towards Syrian coast, claims Russian defence ministry
Russia has claimed that its missile early warning system has detected the launch of two missiles from the central part of the Mediterranean Sea fired towards the Sea's eastern coastline. The launches took place at 10:16 am Moscow time (0616 GMT) and were detected by the ballistic missile early warning system in Armavir in southern Russia, the defence ministry said in a statement quoted by Russian news agencies.

US leaves ‘unreliable’ British out in the cold
British military chiefs are being ejected from US meetings about Syria in the first direct consequence of David Cameron’s refusal to join military action. The role of senior British officers based at US Central Command in Tampa, Florida, has been downgraded because they cannot be trusted with high-level intelligence about a conflict with which they are no longer involved, military sources say.

Russia warns citizens of US extradition risk
The Russian foreign ministry has warned Russians against visiting countries that have extradition deals with the US, if they suspect they could face arrest and transfer to the US. A warning on the ministry website alleged that several Russians had been "in effect abducted and taken to the US" in "prejudiced court proceedings".

The exact number of casualties could not be confirmed, according to witnesses.

Defiant Assad challenges west over chemical weapons evidence
Syria's president, Bashar al-Assad, has challenged the west to come up with "a single piece" of evidence that he has used chemical weapons.
