I humbly submit this to the most important men in the world today – Pastors! In 1 Peter 5: 2, 3 there are three clear commands to the Pastor.
- “Feed the flock of God”. Feeding the sheep will create in them a hunger for the Word. The result will be healthy sheep who will follow.
- “Taking the oversight”. Some Pastors would rather be led than to risk leading. That prevents the Spirit of God from leading the church where Christ would have it to go. It will invariably be led into wrong paths.
- “Neither as being lords over Gods’ heritage”. Some Pastors bully the sheep, grieving the Spirit of Christ. Christ may have attacked false religious leaders, but He never bullied the sheep.
“Being ensamples” or being Christ-like. Pastor, I hope we are still friends! Rejoice in verse 4.
