“Revelation 18:22-24”

"And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived." Revelation 18:22-23

The kingdom of Antichrist has been thrown down in the judgment of God. The greatest material prosperity the world has ever known has been destroyed in the judgment of God.The kingdom of the beast must be destroyed before the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ can come to the earth.

"And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters," We have in these two verses a description of the lives of the men of the world down over the long centuries and coming to a climax in the last half of the tribulation period. Living in pleasure and enjoying the world's culture apart from God. Men who have rejected God's authority in their lives have worked hard to fashion a replacement for God in their lives. There is nothing wrong with much of the Arts and Culture, except that it has replaced God and His purposes in their lives.

"Shall be heard no more at all in thee;" The day will come when all substitudes for God's presence and purposes in men's lives will be set aside. There are two worlds, man's world and God's world, they cannot coexist. The day has arrived in our text when man's world is destroyed and set aside.

No more mirth and no more music. All the entertainers and entertainment gone forever. The world's music does not honour God. The world today attempts to escape the realities of life in the sensual music that dishonours God.

"And no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;" all of present world as we know it will be forever set aside. All of this change as a judgement poured out on the kingdom of the Beast.

These three no mores were prophesied in Jeremiah 9:9-11.

Three reasons are given for this judgment of God upon Babylon.

"for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."

Reason # 1 Babylon will be judged because she worshipped the wealth and luxery of the merchants and great men of the earth. Things were her idols during the tribulation period

Reason # 2 Babylon will be judged because she led men to worship Satan during the tribulation period, using witchcraft and sorcery to accomplish it.

Reason # 3 Babylon will be judged because of the multitude of Tribulation saints she murdered during the tribulation period.

During the tribulation period the beast has brought these things to a cresendo of self indulgence in a mad drive to distract men from God. Satan's program has always been to satisfy the longings of the hearts of men with anything that will keep men away from God.

Satan brings a godless world to a new height of godlessness and God brings it all crashing down!
