A news report issued by debkafile entitled -”The First Full-Scale Cyber Attack on a State," declares; “the debate over a missile, warplane or Special Forces strike against Iran's nuclear facilities is made redundant by an outside power proving able to partly cripple Iran's nuclear facilities by activating at will a malworm latent inside their control systems.”
This is a stunning change of events with regard to Iran's nuclear threat on Israel. Apparently this powerful virus has crippled much if not all of Iran’s nuclear industrial complex. It is reported that as many as 30,000 centrifuges have been shut down, crippling Iran’s capacity to produce a nuclear bomb.
In a late new flash it has been reported that the activation of the Bushehr nuclear generation plant is delayed at least until 2011. This delay is a result of the computer virus that has infected the plant.
In another news report from debkafile; we read; “An alarmed Iran Asks for help to stop Rampaging Stuxnet Malworm” - Tehran this week secretly appealed to a number of computer security experts in West and East Europe with offers of handsome fees for consultations on ways to exorcize the Stuxnet worm spreading havoc through the computer networks and administrative software of its most important industrial complexes and military command centers. Debkafile's intelligence and Iranian sources report Iran turned for outside help after local computer experts failed to remove the destructive virus.
One expert said: "The Iranians have been forced to realize that they would be better off not 'irritating' the invader because it hits back with a bigger punch."
Debkafile further reports; “As it is; the Iranian officials who turned outside for help were described by another of the experts they approached, as alarmed and frustrated. It has dawned on them that the trouble cannot be waved away overnight but is around for the long haul. Finding a credible specialist with the magic code for ridding them of the cyber enemy could take several months. After their own attempts to defeat Stuxnet backfired, all the Iranians can do now is to sit back and hope for the best, helpless to predict the worm's next target and which other of their strategic industries will go down or be robbed of its secrets next.”
While Tehran has given out several conflicting figures on the systems and networks struck by the malworm - 30,000 to 45,000 industrial units. Debkafile's sources cite security experts as putting the figure much higher, in the region of millions. If this is true, then this cyber weapon attack on Iran would be the greatest ever.
We need to read the world situations in the light of what Scripture says, and not read the Scriptures in the light of world news. Scripture teaches that Israel will not be annihilated by nuclear weapons. The world has totally ignored Israel’s plight via the threat of Iran’s nuclear attack. The God of Israel has a program for Israel and no power on earth can frustrate that purpose.
God’s purpose for Israel is to bring her to repentance and faith in Him and then restore her to all the land He long ago promised her. To be sure, the Scriptures tell us that Israel will go through the “Time of Jacob’s Trouble.” The nations who interfere with God’s people will suffer God’s wrath.
Joel 3:2, “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead (judge) with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” Joel is referring to the battle of Armageddon that awaits the nations in defiance of God.
The President of Iran has threatened to utterly destroy Israel off the face of the earth. He has been feverishly working to obtain nuclear weapons to accomplish this. It is Iran who will be destroyed in the war of Ezekiel 38-39, early in the tribulation period. The war of Ezekiel will not involve nuclear weapons, according to the Scripture; trust God to see to that.
Let men rage and think they can defy God but God will have the last word. We have read His Word and we know what the last chapter says.
