“The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer”

"The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower." - Psalm 18:2

David found himself under constant attack by his many foes. God has not promised us that we would not have trials and tribulations in our lives, they come no matter how close we walk with the Lord. We are in the process of being sanctied, conformed to the image of Christ. The Lord has promised that in the midst of trials He will be with us and sustain us. In our text verse David encourages himself and us with the truth about the Lord's protection, that it is all the protection we need. That is why Jesus said over and over again to His disciples, "fear not". It is wonderful to be a child of God, we have nothing to fear, now or ever. - Art Sadlier

Hide me, O my blessed savior, Till the storms of life are past;

Hide me till I reach the harbour where thy ransomed rest at last.

Hide me, hide me, Savior, hide me sweetly in the cleft,

In thy bleeding side, O hide me, Hide me, in the cleft. - Unknown
