The US State Department has announced that Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter the ISIS (Islamic State) John Allen and Deputy Special Presidential Envoy Brett McGurk have been attending a meeting in Paris both yesterday and today (Friday) to discuss with French government and military officials ways to defeat the Islamic State.

Later on today, General Allen and Ambassador McGurk will be traveling to the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Sir Bani Yas Forum, an annual high-level gathering where world leaders discuss critical issues relating to peace and security. While there, Allen and McGurk will be holding bilateral meetings with world leaders to continue to discussing strategies to defeat the ISIS.
