Lijian stealth drone prepares for test flight
A newly designed Chinese stealth drone is ready for its first flight test after completing its taxi test last December at an unknown airfield in the southeastern province of Jiangxi, reports Duowei News, an outlet operated by overseas Chinese. Designed jointly by the Hongdu Aviation Industry Group and Shenyang Aviation Corporation, the Lijian ("sharp sword") is China's first stealth drone...  

Egypt 'al-Qaeda linked plot on foreign embassy' foiled
Egyptian police have arrested three al-Qaeda militants planning a suicide attack on a Western embassy, the country's interior minister says. Mohammed Ibrahim did not specify which embassy had been targeted, but said a quantity of chemicals had been found. Mr Ibrahim gave the names of three men and said they were planning attacks in both Cairo and Alexandria.  

Deadly blasts hit Turkey border town of Reyhanli
At least 18 people have been killed and more than 22 wounded in car bomb attacks in a Turkish town close to the Syrian border, the interior minister has said. The blasts were reported at the town hall and post office in the town of Reyhanli, in Hatay province. Thousands of refugees have fled Syria across the Reyhanli border.

Kremlin confirms Netanyahu to meet Putin in Russia
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia, likely next week, amid concerns that Russia could deliver advanced air defense missiles to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, the Kremlin confirmed on Saturday, according to AFP. According to a diplomatic source, Netanyahu will meet Putin at his residence in Sochi on the Black Sea coast.

The vote marks Pakistan's first transition from one civilian government to another in its 66-year history. However election violence has claimed a number of lives. In the worst attack, 11 people were killed in a bombing on a political office in Karachi.
