“Understanding Israel's Media Crisis”

Israel’s media are fighting for survival. Newspapers and TV stations are on the verge of closing down; journalists are losing their jobs. Everybody blames somebody for the crisis: the Internet, Facebook, and especially Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Israeli media, which is left wing, is not known for objectivity. And it has often been unfair towards Netanyahu. The technological revolution and the creation of a right-wing paper by an American billionaire have created an equilibrium between the media and Netanyahu, and even tipped the scales in his favor.

The media that wanted to ruin Netanyahu are now ruined themselves.
