“Seventy Years After the Holocaust”
by Art Sadlier
January 22nd, 2012

Prior to the holocaust the world did not care about Israel. One of the troubling things about the holocaust is that the nations could have prevented the murder of seven million Jews. They could have but they didn’t, they did not care about the Jewish people. This in hind sight was only a reflection of 2,000 years of anti-Semitism which was clearly foretold in book of Deuteronomy.

Today, seventy years later, history is repeating itself. Today the nations of the world are standing on the sidelines as Iran not only threatens Israel with extinction but is racing to prepare nuclear weapons to accomplish it. Today as Hamas and Hezbollah threaten Israel with annihilation, the world is occupied with condemning Israel for building houses for Jews in East Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria.

In another provocation in a recent speech delivered by the Palestinians' top Muslim cleric, Mufti Mohammed Hussein encouraged the killing of Jews. "Instead of calling for peace and reconciliation, the mufti is calling to kill Jews wherever they may be.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu commented on this provocation, “I don’t hear any condemnations from the world's countries. I hear them condemning the construction of a home in Gilo or a balcony in Ramot (neighbourhoods in Jerusalem) – that is what I hear," he said.

With regard to stopping Iran’s attempt to obtain nuclear bombs, Obama and the rest of the nations are trying to prevent Israel from taking action until it is too late. They are doing everything to deter Iran, except that which they know will work.

Russia has warned Israel that an attack on Iran will be considered an attack on Moscow.

This is but a preview of that which Scripture tells will take place at the close of the tribulation period. We read about that final assault on Israel in Joel 3:2, “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”

We know that Iran will not annihilate Israel, the prophetic scriptures reveal that. It will be interesting to see how this present scenario will play out. How will Iran be restrained? Will Israel destroy Iran’s nuclear program?

We know that Iran will join with Russia and an alliance of nations early in the tribulation in another failed attempt to destroy Israel.
