“Israel`s Leaders are Her Real Problem”
by Art Sadlier
October 9th, 2011

Israel's leaders are Israel's real problem. Since 1948 Israel's God has demonstrated in four ways that He will bless and protect His people if they will obey Him and trust Him.

In the war of 1948 and the war of 1967 as well as the war of 1973, God has demonstrated to Israel through miraculous victories that He is willing and able to protect them. In the war of 1967 God returned to Israel the land David had possessed, the Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights, Judea and Samaria and Biblical Jerusalem. God was moving to fulfill His promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

In a fourth way God has blessed Israel and the land of Israel. Since 1948 the desert has blossomed like a rose, in every area of Israel's life as a nation, fruitfulness and prosperity has been their portion.

Recently Israel has discovered massive quantities of Gas and oil, enough to ensure prosperity for years to come.

In all of these situations God has been seeking to draw the hearts of His people to Himself.

In response to this all of Israel's leaders have distained the blessing of God on the nation. Israel's leaders have tripped over themselves in the rush to give away the Promised Land.

The day after the victory of the 1967 war, Israel's leaders gave the temple mount back to the Arabs. They gave the Sinai to Egypt, to whom it did not belong. Later they gave the Gaza Strip over to Hamas and in the process shamefully destroyed the homes of the Israelis living there and drove them out.

Ever since that time each successive Israeli leader has burned the midnight oil to devise ways to give up more territory to her enemies that have no real claim to it.

The Israeli army has been steadily occupied in destroying Jewish homes in Judea and Samaria.

Another area in which God has been shamed and dishonoured is on the temple mount. Jews have been arrested for simply bowing their heads in silent prayer, while Arabs have been allowed to destroy all evidence of Jewish presence on the temple mount.

Perhaps the most flagrant demonstration of Israel's rejection of God's promises to her is the recent prisoner swap. In a shameful release of hundreds of multiple murders Israel's leaders were saying God can't help us, we are weak and powerless and we have no God to help us. Can you imagine how David would have handled such a situation? He would have gone out in the name of the Lord and punished the enemy.

Another mark of fear and failure is the way Israel’s leaders have allowed rockets and missiles to reign down upon her people.

At one time Israel's enemies feared Israel, surely that fear has now been dissipated.

We can only conclude that Israel's leaders have no thought of God before their eyes. They have no interest in the temple or the worship of God. They often act in disinterest to the rights and needs of their own people. They seem to want emulate the secular nations of Europe.

Israel's God has not given up on her, but He will lead her through great tribulation to bring a remnant to Himself. Zechariah 13:8-9, “And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”
