“The Inflation Deception”
by Book Review - From WND
July 5th, 2011

Don't look now, but we are fast approaching a tidal wave of inflation that could sink our economy and the U.S. dollar, and plunge the world into further conflict and chaos.

"Welcome to the Inflatocracy," say WND columnist Craig R. Smith and Lowell Ponte.

Inflatocracy is a form of government, Smith and Ponte explain, "in which deliberately debasing our money has become a primary tool of social engineering, drug-like mind manipulation, wealth redistribution, secret taxation and political power."

Yesterday, June 30, 2011, the Federal Reserve ended its stimulus program called QE2 (Quantitive Easing 2) - a $600 billion infusion of cash printed out of thin air in recent months which was supposed to keep America's growth rate from falling below zero and prevent our economy from stalling.

It didn't work.

The old Keynesian rules leaders looked to for economic recovery in the past have been proven flawed. America's economy seems trapped in a downward spiral of permanent high unemployment, sinking home prices and near-zero economic growth. Add to this rioting in Greece, and four other European nations on the brink of insolvency, and we could be only days or weeks away from global economic collapse.

Ludwig von Mises wrote: "Inflation is not an act of God .... not a catastrophe of the elements or a disease that comes like the plague. Inflation is a policy."

This concealed global tax effectively makes inflation America's number one export, driving up the cost of food and fuel to the world's poor and hungry to feed politicians' power-mad addiction to stratospheric spending. The Inflatocracy, and the huge welfare state it makes possible, have brought the United States and millions of Americans to the brink of bankruptcy.

Smith and Ponte bring together hundreds of experts and documents to expose the shocking ways inflation has been used as a new kind of governance to control and reshape our lives and, in President Barack Obama's ominous promise, to "fundamentally transform" the United States.

America's founders believed in small government, low taxes, frugality, thrift and individual responsibility.

The Inflatocracy, Smith and Ponte write, is literally killing off the old-fashioned kinds of Americans who made our country successful, prosperous and free. It is imposing a collectivist dependency on government and anti-individualist, anti-free market conformism that inevitably will lead to stagflation and failure.
